Azul 17 Mexican Cuisine & Tequila Lounge

Amazing sums up our dinner this evening. Date night with my husband, this was my 3 rd time there but husband never was and we even had a living social deal.  We started with drinks I got white sangria and my husband got an enamorda which was a margarita with coconut and mango the rim had toasted coconut, very good cocktails!  We the ordered the guacamole traditional made table side which was devoured in 5 min! We could not resist the mussels special they had, best ever they were in this white cream sauce with tomatoes and cucumbers maybe, THE BEST ever!!!  I got the steak marchudra or something like that which was cooked to perfection medium rare.  Steak melted in your mouth. My husband got the Sea Bass which was incredible, I am not a fish eater but that can convert me!!  Our waiter Octavio was incredible very friendly and personable. We asked for mgr before we left to pay them both a compliment.  Definitely going back again soon! Overly sheik for a strip mall in Columbia.  In my humble opinion it looked like they were trying to recreate a Adams Morgan restaurant in the wrong place.  Drinks were good, guac was tasty, but the chips were to thick. The Main dish was good but they tried to hard to make it fancy pants.. My girlfriend on the other hand has been throwing up since last night because of her enchiladas. I would like to go back for drinks and tacos but not a evening dining experience.

amazing tequila selection. the signature margarita is probably the best margarita I have ever had in my life. the tacos are good, but a little cold.
