My husband and I came here for St. Patrick's Day Eve and we had a great time here.  I have been driving by this place for years and never thought of actually going in.  When I read Stacey K's review we decided to give this place a try and very glad we did.

We were drinking Guinness, Blue Moon and $2 Schlitz.  I didn't even know they still were brewing Schlitz.  They had some craft beers, can't remember what they were serving.  Great place for people watching.  This is a shot & beer kind of place.  Lite seemed to be the beer of choice.  We didn't have any food but I think they were serving mostly fried snacks.  The night we were there they had a band.  Staff is friendly and the Ladies bathroom was CLEAN!!  Extra star for clean bathroom.

    We will be back!

Went here for a Happy Hour with some co-workers and considering the other options, I think this will become the new go to place. For most of the 5 hours that we were there, we were the only ones except for 1 or 2 people that came in for a drink and left.

Overall, there was a good variety of beer (a little overpriced for a hole-in-the-wall type bar), food was decent, and it had a great atmosphere as neither the TV or music were too loud.

Parking is a little odd as the spaces are quite small and there are most likely only 7-8 on the side of the building, otherwise you'll have to parallel park in the street.

I went with 5 stars because you just don't see bars like this anymore. Don't judge this book by it's cover, as I did for so many of my post-legal drinking age years. It's not bad looking on the outside, it just gives no illusion whatsoever as to how retro-awesome it is on the inside. The bar and woodwork are beautiful. Complete with old Schlitz beer light, framed Alberto Vargas pin-up girls, and glass-encased orange neon (think old-school roller rink. That's what it reminded me of.) To enter this bar is to take a step back in time. This is the kind of place our dads went to for a shot and a beer. It's perfect.
The waitress / bartender that was there during our visit was friendly, helpful, and downright hilarious as all hell. We each had two craft beers, (can't remember what they were, natch) and some snacks. I had the chicken tenders with honey mustard sauce, and my husband had the chili. Very, very good pub grub. They have a totally decent menu which also includes a few sandwiches and pizza. We will be back for sure as we have such a fondness for places like this that have been run by the same family for generations and are not pretentious and stuffy, but rather banking on the fact that they know what they are doing and do it right. Long live Joe's!!
