Been here a lot before. They have a new bartender who loves to talk to one group of people and ignore the rest of the bar. Went here twice this week and left early because we were ignored.

This place sucks! Waited 45 minutes for tacos and they still jacked up my order.

Full bar. Bar food and bomb sandwiches/wraps. They have the best pastor tacos. TVs everywhere. Friendly staff. Lots of seating. Great daily specials. I love Wing Wednesday.

Ive been here a few times on a Saturday night and it's always been nearly empty, and yet the service is painfully slow. Like 30 minutes to take your order type of slow. This is when there was literally only one or two tables occupied; staff would tend to talk to themselves, or partake in one of the many games with each other, like pool. Completely understandable when the place is slow, and I can't knock them for trying to amuse themselves and remain sane on what is probably a hectic and stressful job. I just feel the service shouldnt suffer just because they don't want to hustle as fast on late, empty nights.

I finally went on a Tuesday night and every chair was full. Every. It said it was $1 Taco night...That can't possibly be what drew all these people in, could it?! It's only 50 cents off. But anywho.
The service still wasn't at a normal pace you may be used to , but it was actually faster than all the other nights when they were dead(huh? okay)
But I have to give kudos to the employees; they are constantly rushing around waiting on tables. No slacking off. Especially the blonde guy here who is running all over the place.

Their slow service seems to stem from obviously being understaffed, and there's no real organization; you'll know this from the second you read that you have to seat yourself. Surprisingly they did a great job at seeing when a few of our friends showed up late to our table, despite us being in a jam-packed room in a hidden corner; blonde guy rushed over right away to take drink orders, which come out at an okay pace. The beer selection is not bad, and the prices are great compared to most places. Served in a huge tall glass, no small overpriced sissy cup like most places im use to in Redlands.

The plus side to their slow service is that you'll probably be buzzed by the time your food comes, and starving, so everything you eat tastes awesome. Like my "side" of Chilli Cheese fries, which were amazing! I had leftovers for the next day; it shouldve been called a meal.

People rating it super low because of the slow service, I have to question if you realize what type of place you're walking into. Unless you're in the kid area, chances are you should be watching sports like most everyone else, drinking beer, and surrounded by your friends talking and having a good time. Their slow service is a plus for me; it means my friends and I can take our time, be there a while, passing time together.

This isn't a place that serves food that is to-die-for, or interesting cocktails and dessert. You're coming here to hang out, and be around others that are hanging out, while trying to be sane and conserve your money for more important things. You're paying dirt cheap prices, but wanting spectacular, or even just "normal" service? Or epic tacos? That's not how it works. You get what you pay for.

I've been here several times in the last year and I don't think I'll be coming back. Why offer an "all you can eat" taco lunch deal if it literally takes 30 minutes for every order to come out? I don't know if the servers are mad at the cooks or what, but their attitude is awful. They were just slamming food down on the table, never got a refill. Our 2nd round of food only came out as we were leaving after requesting the bill two times. Only reason it got two stars is because when the food did eventually come, it was descent at best. Service on the other hand has always been terrible. Maybe the bar is good, but the family side of the restaurant is ignored. Two other families stormed out just as upset as we did today. When we asked if the bathrooms had a changing table and we were told they did not. I had to change my one year old in the hot car. When my girlfriend went to wash her hands, guess what? Boom a changing table. Thanks server with no name badge!

We will never go back there! We have given this place a couple of chances and they have failed miserably every time! My 11 year old likes the games and we would go for him after soccer practice or games. We tried the tacos and they were pretty good...but THE SERVICE SUCKS!!!! Every time we have gone there, the wait for food takes from 30-45 minutes for simple meat and cheese tacos.

We went there on a Thursday, early evening, we had 3 different servers and between all of them, they messed up our drink order, forgot to put in the order for our tacos, didn't bring silverware or salsa. I ordered a chicken salad and half the lettuce was brown or wilted. The chicken was dry too.

I used to be a waitress many years ago and I am very patient and will forgive a lot if the place is busy. The bar was busy, but the room with the games was not. There were 3 tables, counting us.

They need more servers or more competent ones. These were young girls that didn't write anything down and had to be asked 4-5 times for things.

    NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Came here for lunch, all-you-can-eat tacos. I had chicken, and they were pretty good. I don't eat more than 3, though, so it would probably have been cheaper to just order a specified amount. They are small, however, so for people who like to eat, or guys, for that matter, I'm sure they can get more than their money's worth. The service was slooooooooow. Holy cow, it took forever to get our food, and the restaurant was empty. The chips and salsa bar was a nice touch. The green salsa was my favorite. I might bring my husband back here, but I would make sure we had a lot of time to kill, because it's an hour and a half ordeal, at least.

The place is "known" for their tacos, I do not know why. I ordered the pastor tacos and they were dry and not al pastor, the beans tasted like they were from a can, the rice was burnt, the service was horrible. I don't think I'll be back

Horrible, horrible, horrible! A friend and I went today for lunch because it was said they have $5.99 all you can eat tacos for lunch. They do offer all you can eat tacos but you have to be willing to wait...25 mins! I asked  the waitress why the long wait and she pointed to three other tables and said, "They ordered tacos, so did they, and that table did too." So if other people order what is posted outside on their window, its causes a wait. Really?? Couldn't plan ahead??
So we ordered Chicken Ceasar Salads because we were told if we order anything that was Mexician Food we would have to wait. Our Salads were gross! It was a bunch of lettece with 4 strips of chicken, and covered in parmesan cheese, with dressing on the side.
They had two servers, and they were running around the whole time but we had to wait for everything...it look 10 mins just to pay the bill.
It's really too bad because the inside seems nice, they had a lot of t.v.'s to watch sports, and a nice bar. I liked the bar tables and chairs.
They need to realize in a business, if you are going to offer a product you should be able to deliver on it.

This place should stick to canned beens and weenies.  I guess the locals expectations are low considering the alternatives of places to go.   Overcooked ingredients on the tacos, their specialty.  The good news is this my last visit and no more one star ratings from me!!!

Love this restaurant. One of our favorite places to go. When it is busy tho, the service can kinda suck, at least one waitress. They're not the friendliest sometimes. But for the most part, they're good when they're not super busy

Ok so the service here is slow. The waiter/bartender forgot our order... Twice. I ordered fish tacos, rice and beans. NOT what I expected. I wasn't happy here and probably won't be back. Based on the other reviews, I was expecting something more from this place and I really wanted to like this place. Basic bar food with a weak salsa bar, above average prices and poor customer service. The best thing about my visit was the Lakers tying the game for OT! I think this is why I give it 2 stars.

I really wanted to like this place. It seems like a great idea! A place where you can hang out with the whole family and all of your friends. The problem is that the idea is poorly executed. The food was nothing special. The prices were about average. The service was awful!! The waitress never came to check on us. We could have honestly walked out and they wouldn't have even noticed. The atmosphere is there, where is the service?? Improving this, and it would be a great place to hang out and have fun. I doubt I'll be going back any time soon.

Food was good. Prices weren't too bad.  Great specials. Service was terrible. I had to get up and find a waitress to order, again to refill the drinks, and again to ask for the check. My party waited for the waitress to come take our payments. Again, had to get up to even pay. The kids had a blast though and the games were a lot of fun for them.

Bean n Cheese burrito $6.99 wth i hope those beans are imported...............from the moon on some exotic ish... went in for Football Sunday i expected it to be crowded so im not mad about that but if its that full something is right, i wont talk about food because i didnt eat any but i can see how someone can justify $6.99 for a beean n cheese burrito i dont care if it was 3 pounds its still just bean n cheese burrito.  They could have said it was a Artisan bean n cheese.  I did look over at some mini tacos people ordered and said nah.  They do have a great selection of beer and we got service real fast and i did see the staff working there butts off.  the floor had carpet and spilled beer made it all mushy by the end of the bar where they have a couple of flat screens and i was like damn carpet in a sports bar.  I did talk to the owner he was a pretty cool guy and looks like there was many regulars there, i might go back i might not but it is not my 1st or 2nd choice, but its all over Upper deck lounge at pharoes

I Used to come here quit often because the environment is nice and the food is good. The service has gone downhill especially during lunch time. I tried going back again a  few months later and see no improvement in service.
It's too bad a nice establishment like this can't improve on service to keep local loyal customers.

A local bar located on the Redlands/Mentone line. Good food and great beer selections on draft. The tacos are exceptional. The fish tacos are somewhat of a limited item, only available 1 day a week and i think it is either Thursdays or Fridays. The kids menu is awesome! Totally kid food and super affordable. The game room for kids and families is great. I prefer this place if taking my kids somewhere local to eat while still enjoying a beer. Not recommended for cocktails. I would go a bit further into downtown Redlands area for that! It is in strip mall but that can be expected for such a small area. Stop in on your way up the mountain or down the mountain!

We had a great time there watching the fights the other night. The tab was pretty cheap after eating and drinking all night. My wife was a big fan of the shrimp tacos. The new owners really seemed to have turned the joint around since our last visit. We will be coming back again next time we are in the area.

Came here Sunday morning for football and had the worst viewing experience I've ever had at a bar. The place was packed and theoretically they should have had enough TVs to accommodate the crowd but they distributed the games very poorly. I came in a little into the first quarter and found my game was playing on a tiny TV in the corner with about 20 people trying to watch it. I had to cram up against the wall and share a table with two other strangers. Meanwhile the bar was wide open and there were four TVs but they were only playing one game on all of them that no one was interested in. When I asked they said there was nothing they could do about it.

In order to ask that question, I had to wait about twenty minutes. They were so ridiculously understaffed. Each time I ordered a beer it took about 15 minutes to receive. I ordered nachos and they were literally the worst piece of crap I've ever eaten.

I've relocated to Eureka Burger for my Sunday mornings: better food, better service and surprisingly the same tab.

I went for a ufc event, place was packed! Cover charge?... the beer on tap is pretty good, but a bit expensive.  My only real complaint is that the place smelled like feet, but I guess I got used to it after a while.  The wings were nothing special.  If there was a hooters around, I would have gone to that instead..

This has got to be the best place in the area for watching games, drinking beers, and hanging out with friends. One of the few places that shows UFC fights...and will have every football game on Sunday's. they even have speakers you can request delivered to your table so you can hear your particular game better :)  I've been here when the restaurant is packed, and the waitress has managed to find a table with some seats to spare.
The free chips n salsa are great to munch on. The food menu is extensive; tacos, nachos, burgers, salads, calzones, burritos.....too much to name. But if you're hungry you're sure to find something!! Also, the portions are huge. Plenty to share.
I dont have kids but the area set up for the little guys is nice because I can watch my games in peace. There's also shuffleboard and a pool table.
I can't wait for football season....and spending entire sundays here!!

We like this place for a few reasons. It is a local joint and I have never seen any shady characters. It is a great place to catch a game...if you are without kids. They have more than enough screens to watch games on. The chicken tacos are the bomb, they have a good self-service chip bar with decent homemade salsa and they serve a local brew, Hangar 24.

    There are a few down-sides:
    1. The service isn't all that great.
    2. If you bring kids and sit in the area where the video games are...good luck getting ANY service, and they have to walk past you to get to the kitchen. The service is spotty on the bar side, much worse on this side. Also, you only get two dinky TVs to watch sports on.
    3. Other than the tacos the rest of the food is just eh.

If you are looking for a good selection of beer, to watch a game and have some tacos, this is a good place. Order all you might want the first time and pay as soon as you get your bill....you never know when they will come by your table again.

Had lunch with a friend on a recent weekday at just before noon. Johnny's is beer and wine only, has flat screens galore, and a pretty big kiddie game area to keep those knee-biters occupied while you are watching your game. We were two of only four customers until right before we left, when a 4top walked in. The service was spotty, the waitress having some reason or other for not having visited sooner whenever she did come by.

I wanted to come because I remembered having eaten some excellent asada tacos here before. So, I ordered those again, as did my friend. The tacos are $1 each and come standard with meat, cilantro, onion, and salsa. If you want cheese (or avocado), those are $.25 each additional per taco. As is usually the case with things fondly remembered, the tacos were not nearly as good as they were in my memory. Fortunately, the beer was still good - Johnny's carries local brews from Hangar 24.

To sum up: geared toward sports fans (with lots of kids) who like beer and don't care so much about the quality of the food or service, Johnny's is a decent sports bar in a location that's central to... Mentone-ish. If you want lunch, you may have the place to yourself, which will make it less embarrassing for you when you have to holler for the waitress. My memory proven flawed, and obvious subsequent emotional trauma around that, I probably won't go back unless I fall victim to peer pressure.

A fun place to grab a beer.  They have a plethora of flat screen televisions.  They have a separate area where kids can play video games.  They have the wireless game system you can play at your table.  They have shuffleboard.  Good selection of beer.  Free chips and salsa.  They do have veggie tacos along with all the other meats.  I've always had excellent service.

In a word, meh. Just because a place serves tacos, chips, and salsa doesn't make it a Mexican restaurant. It's a beer only sports bar that serves food.

I know people who love to frequent Johnny Taco.  I guess if you just wanted to get 17 pitchers and watch 432 sports shows on 90 TVs, it makes sense.  I could see enjoying myself here once if it involved being drunk.  What's not more fun drunk?

But on any of the other 364 days, I'd rather spend the same 90 minutes at Cucas, Venezia, or even Stater Bros.

I went in just for one more try again this afternoon, and still, the service is just despicable.  Slow as all hell.
The food took over 20 minutes to deliver.  All it was is just fries and a beer...20 minutes?  There was only 3 other tables that I counted sitting to eat...

Ug...can't say much more other than keep your money in your wallet.

    Anybody seen a waitress?

Seriously, this could be a great place if they would do something about the atrocious service.  The staff, for the most part, are great, hard working people but they seem half staffed every time I've been there for a game.  Last time in it took 25 minutes to get a beer and that was after flagging down a passing server (apparently not ours but she helped out anyhow.)

As for the rest... One of the better places in the area to watch a game with friends with lots of screens including several HD flat panels, a beer selection than includes a couple of good local/craft selections, and decent food (tacos - yes!  "wings - NO!).

It's cheap since there is no one to serve you enough to eat and drink though... We usually leave hungry, thirsty and a bit frustrated by the lack of servers.

Easily 2 more stars for a sports bar if they had decent service.
