My husband and I went to Jojo's for the first time yesterday. Â We sat at the bar and had the bar menu and beers. Â Beer selection is varied and great. Â I had the pork belly tacos, which were incredible. Â Hubby had the wings, which while good, could have used extra sauce. Â Service was wonderful and bartender was very friendly and helpful. Â The bar is very cool and really liked the atmosphere. Â And the bathrooms were very clean and had three separate stalls, which were totally private and enclosed. Â Will definitely be back.
Review Source:What a bizarre experience. Â This was my family's 5th or 6th visit to JoJo's and all previous visits were great. Â This visit was bizarre and unsettling. Â When our food arrived, my husband's crab cakes and sides were just fine (small), but fine. Â I ordered the cold turkey sandwich with fries. Â Both were cold - but tasty. Â Our daughter ordered the salmon. Â The salmon was cooked unevenly, warm spots and uncooked spots. Â The risotto was cold and uncooked, not even close to al dente. Â We alerted our server about the fish and side dish and she offered to replace it. Â JoJo walked passed our table several times but never came over to find out first hand what was wrong. Â The table next to us let us know their dishes were also cold. Â After some time, JoJo brought the replacement dish to our daughter, served the dish with a bad attitude and said: Â "we put the salsa on the side, so it wouldn't make this piece of fish cold". Â I let her know the previous piece of fish was cooked unevenly, not made cold by the mango salsa. Â She returned my comment with a sneer. Â Well, the replacement piece of fish was overcooked and the risotto was still the same. Â I wonder if the kitchen is partially cooking food and warming up side dishes in a microwave. Â There seems to be timing and heating issues in the kitchen. Â Reading previous reviews of dining experiences gone wrong, the overarching theme is: Â JoJo's bad attitude and cold or under cooked food. Â I don't understand. Â We were not unpleasant about the under cooked dish, sometimes things don't go right. Â Big deal, fix it with a smile and go on. We will take our dining-out dollars to the next Bistro and hope the proprietor appreciates our patronage.
Review Source:My husband and I went here tonight to finish out Frederick's beer week. Â I was hesitant to go back after the experience we had last time but my husband really wanted to go since DuClaw was taking over the taps. Â We should have stayed home. We each got a beer and decided we wanted to order some food. Â It took 30 min to get a burger and a cold turkey sandwich. Â When we asked the bartender to check on our food because it had been 25 min (at that point), she told us that the kitchen was busy, they had a full restaurant on the other side (we were on the bar side) and when our food was done it would come out. Â We had obviously been dismissed. Â
Our food came out 5 min later. Â It lacked flavor, pretty plain in general. No one came to check on us or see if we needed anything. Â We asked to speak to a manager simply because this was the second time we had been in and had a bad experience. Â A curly haired woman came over and spoke to us. Â Told us our waitress/bartender should have checked on our food. Â When my husband said something about we had come back after a bad experience last time, she said "You are those people that posted on our facebook page" and then proceeded to tell us that their kitchen was very busy. Â Dismissed yet again. Â
There are many other GREAT restaurants in downtown Frederick (Brewer's Alley, Isabellas, Cacique, Acacia). Â I would go there instead. Â Don't give your money to these people who obviously don't know anything about how to treat a customer.
