Jolly Roger At John's Landing

This place is super busy on trivia night (Thursday). Most nights it is pretty laid back with ample room at the bar. I recommend the "wangs" and from time to time they run specials. I've seen some singer/songwriter stuff but it falls into an open-mic type stuff.

This was my first time.  I would call this a sports bar.  Lots of seating and video poker. I had fish and chips.  Fish was Cod, which they told me when I ordered.  It was good.  Fries were average.  I didn't like the cold slaw.  Very runny and too sweet. Tarter sauce was different, a little sweet, but I liked it.  2 piece fish and chips. $8.  Three piece $10.  They have a large menu and a happy hour.  I would go back again, but try something different.  Breakfast on the weekends.  Eggs, hashbrown and toast any day and time.  I would feel comfortable going there as a single woman.

I know Yelp is normally a review site for food/drinks but I went to the Jolly Roger on Sat night for music and it sucked. I hope the owner of this place realizes that TV's, Neon beer signs and no dancing room does not make a good live music venue. It's pretty simple, just turn those TV's off, unplug the neon beer signs and make some room. You have potential and great bands.
