Came in here om a Sunday morning and thankfully it wasn't too busy when we walked in. Timing is everything as it was jam packed when we left.
Our server, Paula, was on the ball from the start. She came right over after we were seated and took our drink order. Not having visited previously, I needed a few minutes to check out the menu. I chose the Hungry Man Jr, 2 eggs home fries, toast, coffee, juice and your choice of  bacon or sausage and either a pancake or waffle. They do make a bigger version, but I chose not to overdo it. The pancake was a bit on the dry side but otherwise my meal was quite tasty. Unfortunately service seemed to slow down as it got busier. Perhaps not enough help? All I know is we were done for about ten minutes before the check arrived.
For all the times I have been to Jubes, I have never been disappointed. Â I have been there for breakfast and the pankcakes are awesome!! I have been for lunch and dinner and I always get the fish and chips, why because why change something good. Â The only thing is sometimes the fish can get a little greasy, the fries are always crispy and the waitstaff is always very friendly. Â They have a good variety at great prices, and I have to say they have grape nut pudding that is really really tasty!! Only good times from Jubes place!
Review Source:Had the fried clam scallop combo and was disappointed with both the quantity and quality of the item. Â The price was
Right @$15.99 but when I got home with the take out I could only find 4 clams and very small bay scallops. Â The plate was mostly previously frozen fries. Â Needless to say I won't be back. Â Best deal around is Lindys in North Smithfield for fried seafood.
Jube's seems to be more than adequate if you are looking for a burger or fish n chips or a turkey club. It's kinda like a mutation of Friendly's but with more older folks. I have yet to eat in there when there is not a person with a walker. But being a "wrinkle-room" is not the worst a place can be, it usually means decent food at a bargain. Usually. Although some things are a pretty good deal, some are not really. The daily specials are usually not that special, the appetizer items are mostly pre-made frozen foods at a substantial markup. The other thing I would shy away from is the "homemade" soups, I don't know for sure, but I think I know where the leftovers go to die. Overall not to bad on the basics though, just keep your expectations of the service and the food well in check.
Review Source:Being new to the area I have been trying our some local places to bring the kids for dinner. We walked into Jube's & were immediately greeted by a frown face waitress who sat us near the door. 10 minutes later our frazzled & rushed waitress came to take our drink order. After getting our drinks & placing our order we looked around & thought the place was cute but a little over down for the up coming Thanksgiving Holiday.
Our appetizer was dropped at our table who I believe was the owner (who was eating with his family two tables down). The appetizer was good (I mean how can you ruin potato skins)
Then the frown faced waitress came & again our meals were dropped off without so much of "A can I get you anything?" Which we did. It took our frazzled & rushed waitress 10 minutes to finally come over to check on us (as she was too busy waiting on the owner) & then another 10 minutes to finally bring our refills.
Our check was brought to us & WRONG! I had to go & find the frazzled & rushed waitress to which she responded "I'm sorry its just been so crazy in here" There was only 8 tables in the place & about 16 empty, I would surely hate to see what the service was like if the place was full!
As for the food......IT WAS AWFUL!!!! The only highlight of the night was leaving & watching  as our frazzled & rushed waitress picked up the bill off our table even before we had zipped up our coats. Now if she had been that attentive during our meal she would have gotten a better tip
On one last note to the owner......I hope you enjoyed your meal & service because my family & I didn't! I will never eat there again!
I have to say that I've been to Jube's three times. The first two times were great. Tasty food. HUGE portions that had to be brought home for leftovers. Great desserts.
Last time I went (Friday Sept. 9, 2011) was not as good. We (my mom and I) were shoved into a booth in the very back of the restaurant (near the kitchen - which you can see right into from just about any where in the place). The waitress was rude and crass. No humor and didn't seem to be able to take any social cues from others around her (she has short highlighted reddish hair - so if you get her you will know what to expect!).
I asked for a Caesar salad because I'm allergic to onions and didn't want a pre-made house salad. She stared blankly at me and said ... your entree doesn't come with that. I explained that I would be willing to pay extra and she just walked away.
In 5 minutes she came back with Caesar salad. Holy moly. It was terrible. Clearly, it had been made more than 45 minutes prior because I had to ask for more dressing because THE LETTUCE HAD SOAKED IT ALL UP. And, speaking of lettuce, it was so wilted and soggy that it was like eating bran cereal that had been left in milk for a long time. Not good at all.
The ambiance is ... eclectic. Very American cuisine. In the winter, they have snow men and Santas EVERYWHERE. And, in the summer, it's all Patriotic paraphernalia. There are both booths (with plastic seat covers) and tables to sit at. Smallish (Probably could seat 100).
I've only sat down to eat at Jube's maybe once, but have ordered out from here a good number of time and I have only had good experiences. A bit of a hidden gem, Jube's is tucked away in the corner of a pretty big shopping plaza. The wait staff is nice, nothing exceptional, but the food is what will make you come back again and again. All I can say is get the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and you will not sorry if buffalo chicken is your sort of thing. Not the healthiest thing in the world, but I love that they give you containers of bleu cheese dressing to go with it. Another favorite happens to be another specialty pizza of their's called the Mr. Potatohead Pizza. My mouth waters just thinking about this amazing pizza consisting of pizza crust, mashed potato, warm melted cheese and bacon accompanied by sour cream. Again, not the healthiest of choices but when I'm going to Jube's, its time to indulge, because it is more than worth it here.
Review Source:Typical suburban non-chain family restaurant along with your local servers. Â No problems with the food, it is usually good and tasty. Â The service is completely hit or miss. Â We've been in there and had phenominal service once, average service a few times and bad service more often than not. Â Not like it's busy and forgot service, but not seeming overly interested in the customers. Â Here's you're drinks... Here's your food... Â Let me know when you want the check, service.
I have been in with my boys and been 1 of 3 tables in the whole place and to wait 15 minutes after being seated just to order drinks. Â 3 sodas, a pizza, a burger and chicken fingers does not need to be a 90 minute meal in an empty restaurant with only 2 visits from the waitress before asking for the check.
Again the food is good and if you get the right server, it's a good experience. Â Problem is that's about a 50:50 shot in my estimate.
This was my first time visiting Jube's Family Restaurant. My girlfriend's family raved over and over about how good the food was and the coffee and everything, so me being a lover of foods REALLY needed to try Jube's!!!
Set in the little town of Whitinsville, MA, Jubes is near a Shaw's Supermarket plaza in it's own little strip plaza. Parking isn't bad, it has it's own lot that it does not share with Shaw's. But lets get down to why we write reviews on Yelp. The atmosphere of Jube's is very much like a Friendly's, but it seems a lot more small town, "homey," where waitresses and the cooks would know your name and know what you'd want when you walk in. Like Friendly's they do have a waitress, or hostess seat you.
But now to the great stuff!!! The food at Jube's is a mix of American (burgers, sandwiches, fried foods) and Italian with a splash of sea food (like that? splash? sea food? eh forget it). We started off with onion rings and cheesey garlic bread. Onion rings were pretty good!! Crunchy, oniony, delicious-y. The cheesey garlic bread was amazing. Sort of like Papa Gino's Cheese Breadsticks but more cheese and GARLIC!! WHOO!! Good stuff. Anyways, I, in my testing of the entrees of a place looked straight at their burgers. I ordered the Jube's Burger Platter which has lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, mushroom, cheese, pickles, and the meat, plus bun (duh!) served with fries. Anyways, this burger was probably the best burger I have ever had in my whole eating at restaurant tenure!!! Those who have seen How I Met Your Mother know what I'm talking about!! This burger was the one!!! At least this visit it was, next visit will be the test to really tell. Anyways, service was great! Our waitress was very attentive and helpful, and patient (group of 6!!!) and all the food came out of the kitchen to everybody's liking.
Overall Jube's has a great atmosphere, great food and great service. Parking isn't too bad, but I did visit around 1/1:30 in the afternoon. Location is very out of the way from any major high way, so unless you're taking the road less travelled you won't hit Jube's. I highly recommend their burger!!!! ALOT!!!!! I will definitely be back for more!!
"I mean, that first bite-oh, what heaven that first bite is. The bun, like a sesame freckled breast of an angel, resting gently on the ketchup and mustard below, flavors mingling in a seductive pas de deux. And then... a pickle! The most playful little pickle! Then a slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce and a-a patty of ground beef so exquisite, swirling in your mouth, breaking apart, and combining again in a fugue of sweets and savor so delightful. This is no mere sandwich of grilled meat and toasted bread, Robin. This is God, speaking to us in food" -Marshall Erikson 'How I Met Your Mother - Best Burger in New York'
