I'm trying to consume less beef and pork. In enters Just Turkey. I ordered the Turkey Burger with everything and grilled onions. This was my 1st experience with a turkey burger so Just Turkey was essentially responsible for my sentiment towards turkey burgers for the rest of my life. So yeah...there's that. Although it tastes nothing like a beef burger, I was pleasantly surprised. The turkey was flavored well and was very tasty. I was a little afraid of it being too salty because that's been my experience with other turkey products like turkey bacon for example. Fortunately that was not the case. The bun also had a nice light buttery taste.
I am disappointed that no fries were included with the burger for almost $6. I will return as I am interested in trying new items.
They have some good food. Everything is turkey which is more healthier than then the popeys and McDonalds in the area. It is a good local business and would suggest anyone there to try the turkey tips and the turkey lasagna. I was really impressed with the quality of the food. The staff is cool and its located in a decent area.
Review Source:BEST Turkey Burger I've had in MY LIFE! I am not a huge fan of turkey burgers. I have to have a taste for something different to want one. I received one of their flyers in the mail for the Butter Crusted Turkey Burger, fries and a fountain drink for $5.99. I believe this is also a special they have during the week for lunch. Anyway, I needed to use the coupon before it expired so hungover and hungry, I went today to order. I had been previously and had ordered the deep fried turkey wing and that was just okay. I was too overwhelmed by the seasoning on the wing. I took my food home and was told by my neighbor, who was passing down the stairs, that my food smell incredibly good. At this point, I was excited because I was thinking if she could smell it, it had to be good. I unwrapped my burger, which was neatly prepared with the perfect amount of condiments and veggies, to see that this patty was thick. I usually get nervous with thick patties because the meat is too much for me but I took a bite of this burger and my entire schema of life was changed! The toppings stayed on top of the patty. This WHEAT bun was amazingly delicious. This turkey patty was seasoned by the gods. I felt a tear well in my eye when I got down to the last two bites. I took one bite and finished off the fries, which they give you plenty, and stared at that final bite. I didn't want to see it go but alas, I indulged in that last bit of turkey burger greatness. I sit here 5 minutes after dreaming about my next trip.
Review Source:Oh my effin goodness. Where has this place been all my life? Jerk Turkey Salad, Turkey Wrap, Turkey Nachos, Turkey Ribs, Turkey Tips, Turkey Spaghetti, TURKEY, TURKEY, TURKEY.
Now as a gal that is one of the forgotten when it comes to meat, this place did not disappoint. I split a small order of turkey tips and fries with a friend and an order of turkey nachos (ground turkey). You might as well have carried us out! Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic. The lady asked if it was our first time and let me try the turkey tips. WINNING! Now what makes all of this even more fantastic - the BBQ sauce. We tried to buy some but it won't be available until June I think.
So the next time I go, I'm going to ask if I can build my own nachos or at least ask for some BBQ on the side. My nachos would look as such: Chips, Cheese, BBQ, Turkey Tips, and all the other goodness of toppings. I know I could make this just as easy, but if this is all I want.. why waste, lol.
Can't wait to go back! They also have daily specials during the week (i.e. Buy a regular and get a small for free!)
I purchased a Groupon Now voucher (one day deal) for this restaurant. Â I bought turkey legs for my two teens. Â It came with fries and sauce. Â I tried to ask them how the legs were. Â They couldn't answer because they were too busy chomping down. Â They loved them. Â My daughter cut the left over meat off and made a sub type sandwich for her lunch the next day which she also enjoyed. Â Two thumbs, I mean turkey legs UP!

CANT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT JUST TURKEY
CANT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT JUST TURKEY...
I think you get it... the food is amazing you have to keep asking "is this really turkey"??? Â amazing flavors in the meat, sauce, breads, the entire package. Â just finished eating dinner and debating going back tomorrow for round 2! Â Definitely a new favorite!!
I drove 19 miles for a turkey burger. Have I lost my d@mn mind? Nope! If you were wise, you would be in your car -- right now -- headed to 43rd and Cottage Grove and getting a serious turkey burger on. This may have been one of the best turkey burgers I've ever had.
First off, the drive to JT is lovely. For me, I hop on LSD South and cruise on by the lake until I get to Oakwood. It's a simple drive, but it's really beautiful. Lake Shore Opens up south of I-55 and traffic (usually) eases up. On a clear day, you feel like it's just you, the road and the water. It's a bootleg version of the PCH. Once you get off LSD (heh), take a look around. Yes, these big houses, parks and boulevards you see are not an optical illusion. Kenwood is the real deal. I think some famous guy who lives in DC calls it home. Or, something. Head south and you're at your destination.
Don't expect valets, earpieces of sports coats. Park your car (in the lot!), walk your happy self in and look around. When I was there, the dining room was pretty empty. It's just a few tables, big windows and a mounted tv that was airing "The Game" (sister, siiistah). I'm telling you all of this, so a.) you get a feel for the experience and b.) you know to focus on the food.
I rarely eat beef. Thanks to that, I miss ham/cheeseburgers. You don't know what you've got til it's gone. Truly. I've had turkey/veggie/etc. burgers, but they aren't the same. But here, realizing the entire menu is turkey products, I started to hope that this may be different. It was. I ordered a double turkey burger with cheese, fried onions, tomato, lettuce, and pickle on a butter bun. Before you judge me, realize that, at times, I eat once every 20 hours or so. I needed this. Oh, and fries covered in MILD sauce. That's right: the best part of Harold's (mile sauce) was about to be all mine -- but with a burger. It took a while for my food to be ready and, initially, I caught an attitude about it. I reigned it in when I realized a.) made to order (no mayo) and b.) this was the real deal. When my to-go order was ready, I thought I was smuggling a baby hippo. This bag was HEAVY. Good sign.
I raced home, tore out the fries, did a couple of curls with my burger, cracked open a beer and dug in.
.........................
That was a moment of silence. This. THIS! This was a burger! With every bite, I was reminded of what eating red meat tasted and felt like. It was heavenly. The cheese was melted around all of the protein, the bun was thick and crispy. The veggies were fresh and the condiments added to the flavor, rather than hiding it. My fries were stained burgundy for all the mild sauce slathered in their bag. Every bite was potato + vinegar bbq sauce = Ka-POW!. I was getting dead sexier by the bite. But, it was worth it. I wouldn't be able to be naked in front of anyone for months. BUT IT WAS WORTH IT! I don't remember finishing my food. I was in a stupor of meat, potato and hops. I forgot how to speak English. My clothes didn't fit well and my skin smelled of grill. http://And.it.was.all.wo….
Why are you still sitting there?
Love the idea of only turkey products. I've been going to the Vegetarian Soul for years so I gave Just Turkey a try. I order the Turkey Chops. They were pretty good but the barbecue sauce tasted "straight from the bottle." Like Open Pit Style. I'm not a fan of just pouring sauce on it. What happened to seasoning and flavoring??
Review Source:The burger is huge! Could use some more spices in the actual burger meat, however if you request bbq sauce in addition to everything on your burger it is really good. Without bbq sauce it's just ok. As for the turkey tips, I enjoyed them, but the smokey flavor is just not my thing, however, it is tolerable since I can't eat pork or beef tips. Good alternative for the turkey eaters.
Review Source:I stopped here after hearing rave reviews from a friend of mine. I got the turkey tips and they were YUMMY! I didn't feel as guilty about eating them either! The service was great and the atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. My only issue is that they don't give you a lot of food for their prices. For $8.50 for a SMALL tip order I was expecting a lot more than what I got! I definitely want to try the other things on the menu! Great addition to the community!
Review Source:As I stated, it's all about learning about places in my neighborhood. Â After a hard bike ride, I was definitely looking for some food. Â I landed upon Just Turkey by mistake. Â I was totally shocked because I had ventured to another place in the neighborhood that CLAIMED they had great turkey burgers to be let down.
Just Turkey is located right in Bronzeville and East Hyde Park. Â There is ample seating to bring a small group of friends and offers free Wifi. Â now I will say that it's hard to choose between Harolds and Just Turkey because they're essentially located next door to one another. Â But the Turkey won out. Â I am glad I went.
The service was great and the staff was patient and helpful. Â I had the Turkey Tips and another person ordered the turkey burger. Â Both were very fresh and tasty. Â Hey, they even served the turkey burger on a Wheat Bun. Â The turkey burger was thick and juicy. Â The turkey tips were pretty good as well. Â One thing I like is that they didn't drown my tips in tons of bbq sauce. Â
Overall, the experience was great and I will certainly be heading back again for more.
