Maravillas is the worst!!! When we first started ordering takeout from here they would always get the order wrong, they got their act together but then we got wrong orders again. I'm finished with this place!! Not only was the order wrong, but when I told them that I was pregnant and pissed cause I'm starving the woman then preceded to tell me it would take 30 minutes for my replacement order to arrive. I live two blocks away...really 30 minutes!! The place is overpriced and okay at best anyway. It might be worth the trip to Pilsen to get some real tacos.
My husband just came back from getting our money back and the woman there was extremely rude! It makes me sad that we can no longer go here cause my daughter loves the place, but I will not give my money to a place that does not appreciate my business. Â We will be getting in contact with the owner so they are aware of the type of people they have working for them giving the place a bad name.
The food comes out very fast, and the portions are giant. So if you're really hungry and in a hurry, everything's all good here. Unfortunately, if you're looking for good Mexican food, you're in the wrong place. I ordered a burrito suizo, which usually means cheese melted over it AND SALSA. This one had no salsa, but it did have a large glop of melted cheese congealed over it. And the tortilla was the texture of a steamed wonton, for some reason. And I was overjoyed at the size of the small guacamole, right up until I was underwhelmed by its blandness.
I have to be honest, Â I was just too lazy to go to Chipotle and paid the consequences.
FYI, this location has moved to Lake Park Avenue just north of 55th Street. Where there is still no Chipotle in sight.
It's not good. I've had my share of burritos and tortas here and the food does not taste like anything. This includes the special torta and the pollo burrito. However, it's cheap. And the portions are big.
I also had the horchata which was decent. Slightly too sugary but not bad.
So for the amount of cheap calories you're getting (infinite tortilla chips like most Mexican restaurants), the fact that you get seated really quickly and that food is quick to make, it gets three stars.
