Leona's Restaurant

I love Leona's so much! Their food is amazing 99% of the time. The problem is their delivery sucks! I order probably once a week from them, the same order, yet every time they screw it up. I'm allergic to tartar sauce so I say no tartar sauce extra boom boom sauce. Instead I get extra tartar and sometimes no boom boom sauce at all! They almost always forget my lenacake and mix up my sides almost every other time. If they could get the delivery/take out system together they'd be 5 stars but it is BEYOND frustrating to wait 45 minutes for a delivery then it be wrong and have to wait another 20-30 minutes to get the correct order EVERY TIME.

Most amazing Leona cake ever... it's a cupcake for less than a $1.
If I had kids I would bring them here, as they eat for free.

Their food is ok, good, but pretty average.

A place to go if you're in Hyde Park, but I wouldn't drive just to go.

So, first impression was that buttery garlic bread that they have. Okay, that was pretty good [although, then again, hunger makes everything taste good]. It all went downhill from there.

I don't even remember what the thing I ordered was called [willful memory obliteration, maybe], but it was supposed to be a barbecue burger. Except there was no BBQ sauce, which I had to ask for, but fine, that's okay too; at least the sauce is acceptable and masks the otherwise flavorless burger.

But then. BUT THEN. I tried their "famous" mac & cheese, and discovered why it was famous. I don't recall trying to eat something with a texture so curiously reminiscent of rubber bands covered with a layer of Elmer's glue. Just. Why. Why even.

Oh well, first [and last] time for everything I suppose. At least the waiter was courteous when we asked for more bread.
