Firstly I will say that the pancakes are pretty good. Now for the not so. At the time of our arrival we were seated by the waitress and then moved to another booth. The waitress was to busy flirting with other parties and paid little to no attention to my party . The waitress took at least 30 minutes to ask us what we would like to order. The glasses were filthy, and they didn't give us enough silverware. Ill pass on Clark's, maybe the takeout is better
Review Source:Service is almost always slow but I do appreciate the sweet potato fries. I really only come to Clarke's when I need a super late breakfast or I'm tipsy enough/with the right people that snail service and mediocre food don't matter and all I need is a little bit of grease. They have some clever food options (spinach artichoke burger for one), but if you're looking for breakfast/brunch food, then keep walking to Valois or Mellow Yellow. Come to Clarke's if most other restaurants are closed because it's after 10pm (let's be real, it's almost 3am), you're drunk, and you need a burger. Otherwise, head elsewhere.
Review Source:Rounding up from 3.5. I'm writing this mostly because everyone needs to shut the hell up. People who complained about getting too much red onion on your burger, etc. Get over it! It's quite removable. This is a pretty good brunch or late night spot. I've mostly had breakfast food here - corned beef hash, French toast, some skillets, and they've all been good and HUGE, so stop complaining about (1) still being hungry when you leave - not going to be the case unless you're Shaquille O'Neal and (2) food being too expensive because it's easily a meal and a half if not two for the average eater.
Service is not the greatest, and yes, I've had to remind servers to bring stuff out before, but at least to me, that's not a deal-breaker. And yes, the booths and decor are hideous, but this is not haute cuisine, so stop expecting Michelin-star performance and PLEASE get over yourselves.
Also, why are you coming all the way to Hyde Park to eat at a mediocre chain diner? Why come to Hyde Park for anything, really?
Deuces.
