My spouse and I visited K-Bob's Steakhouse in Portland, Texas 07/14/13.  When we walked in the front door, there was not anyone to greet us. There was a divider at front entrance where one could see the bar to the left and tables and booths to the right. A hostess did seat us in a short time and gave us menus, stated someone would be with us shortly. Although the restaurant was practically vacant, we waited a good 5-10 minutes before someone came to ask about drinks and take our order. Although the food was good, we were overcharged. We told the waiter that we had eaten at another K-Bob's in Corpus Christi and did not like paying extra $3.99 for the salad bar. He then stated he could let us have the salad bar with our meal for either $1.99 or $2.19, depending upon what was ordered. I ordered a chicken friend steak as I had asked the difference between the regular for $8.99 and the Senior for $8.49, decided I would get the larger one for .50 more. By saying I wanted the larger, I ended up paying $11.99 instead of  $8.499.  I had failed to see the $11.99 one on the menu. Also, the prices for the chicken fried steaks included 1 side kick. As it turned out, by getting the $1.99 salad bar, I was also charged $2.19 for green beans. Waiter had stated that the price for the salad bar with a meal was $4.99 whereas menu shows $3.99. I will say again, "the food was good"; however, service to begin with was "poor" and prices were much higher than expected. When eating at K-Bob 's in Beeville, Texas which was recently closed, I was able to get a chicken fried steak, 1 side kick and also the salad bar for $8.99 vs $16.17 which I had to pay for my order today.
