We drive to Kenosha from Racine for the pizza here. The first three times to this place were wonderful, the pizza was fabulous and the service was good. The fourth time was unpleasant. We arrived at our usual time (after work, around 10:30 on a Saturday night). The menu says they serve until midnight on Saturdays, and after a wave of tables left around us at about 10:45 pm all of the chairs were put up on the tables and the bar lights were shut off right before we got our food. As we were eating I needed a little more au jus for my bone-dry Italian beef  to which the waiter replied, I'm sorry, the kitchen is closed. I was confused because he hadn't yet asked us how our food was. What if there was a mistake and it needed to be remade? This is at 11:00. I convinced him to bring me cold au jus. All three of us then asked for boxes (not even halfway through our meals) and left in a hurry.  I have 10 years experience in the restaurant and beverage industry and I definitely know that there are "off-days." but usually they are not a on a Saturday night. I believe that if the kitchen is closing early for some reason (it happens sometimes, I get it) tables should be notified in case they need to make any last minute orders of anything. This is how most bars work with a last call, it's a courtesy I usually expect but maybe I should not anymore. This kind of treatment turned me off completely especially since we had great experiences previously. After spending $60 on dinner, a few drinks and a tip I will not be back. In case anyone from the restaurant reads this----a little advice I learned a long time ago, don't put all of your chairs up while your patrons are eating, it makes them feel like they need to leave.
Review Source:Oh my gosh, we LOVE this place! We are from Chicago (Kaiser's is from Northern IL), but not pizza snobs. That said, we KNOW our pizza. I was a restaurant manager for years, and this place has the stones to compete. All styles of the pizza are great. We love the AYCE thin-crust during the week. They have a 20% coupon, so we use that sometimes for the double-decker pizza which is among the best we've ever had.
Sandwiches, nachos, kids meals, and lunch specials are all pretty great. We try to make it here a couple times a month, and bring family when they're in from out of town. So happy they followed us up here!
