We were ready to go to iRock to do karaoke but after reading reviews about a bad english selection, we decided to give Kay One a try since it was also in the area - without hearing much about it.
Warning: Â this place is hard to find. Â there is no sign but its located beside the dance studio in that shopping/office complex.
Interior: Â ghetto-ly decorated with christmas tinsel and lights. Â carpet looks dirty. Â so dirty. Â the hall has this random black carpet lining that is all torn up.
Music: Â no books like cafe muse but a separate screen/remote. Â i like this, you can search by artist/song, etc. Â but the english selection was poor. Â I mean, they didn't even have Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer. Â no Taylor Swift LOVE STORY. Â No Kelly Clarkson Breakaway!!!!! Â and NO RAP. Â No 50 cent In da Club. Â
Drinks: Â NO ALCOHOL.....we had green tea. Â $10 for a pitcher. Â Huge profit margin for them. Â
Rates/Pricing: Â very inexpensive. Â the more you sing, the more discount you get. Â we had 9 people. Â $30/hr. Â we sang 3 hrs 45 minutes. Â our total was $110. Â bc we sang over 3 hrs we got 30% off. Â supposedly you have to be a "member" to get a discount but just act sad or tell them you'll join and they'll give it to you.
From M-W they have all you can sing for $10/pp. Â
Cheap but I think I'm going to check out iRock next time I'm in Maryland. Â or better yet, just go to Cafe Muse bc they have a better english song selection.
