Specials are good but can't make up for the non existant service I endured last night. No service in the bar area unless you sit at the bar and it's a crap shoot if you get service then. I will pay $1 more for Jack at Cecieros and get good service. Â Less smoke to contend with as well.
Review Source:This place is a lot of fun. Â The food is basic, but the staff is super friendly and well attentive. Â There is something happening all the time like trivia on Thursdays and poker on Wednesdays. Â The bar area is seperate from the restaurant and both are totally different from each other but both a lot of fun. Â I went for poker on wednesday and they had $5 pitchers of beer! Â Sweet.
Review Source:I have been here once before about a year ago and it was totally desolate. On this occasion however, there was a good bit of people, but I believe it was because of the trivia....this was the reason why I hit this place up.
My bf and I ended up ordering mixed fajitas for two and it was very, very small for two people to share in my opinion. It honestly seemed like fajitas for one. One of the things that kind of surprised me was that they didn't even bring out two plates of rice, pico, lettuce, and cheese, which is what I'm used to when I order this dish at a Mexican restaurant, but then again this is more of a bar. The fajitas themselves were delicious though, the veggies were nice a fresh and the onions and bell peppers were nicely cooked. The beef was really good and had some big pieces along with the shrimp which was nicely cooked. The fajitas were vary tasty and looked and tasted fresh, odd choice of words, but that is how it was... very yummy despite the small portions.
We also ended up some pitchers of beer and they had some nice beer specials....$5 miller lite pitchers, which we ordered followed by a Blue moon pitcher which was kind of expensive.
In terms of ambiance it was great, the place had a lot of large screen TVs along with smaller ones on each booth, so a great place to watch a game. The staff was friendly and provided good service, our glasses were never empty. The patrons were generally pretty young and the place seemed like it was aimed towards college students as KSU is right around the corner, so it was a lively place.
In terms of trivia, it was OK. I thought the trivia hostess was a bit dry and just lacked personality. Seemed like she was reading the questions just make some $$, but at least she could have tried to be excited to be there. The questions were decent and some were just plain hard, but we managed to do rather well for a team composed of 2 people.
All in all it was a good experience, tasty food, decent beer prices and great ambiance... if only they would make their servings bigger and get a more lively trivia host this place would be awesome.
