Oh boy...
I just finished eating there a good half hour ago and I might die. Â In fact, chances are I will die from eating there. Â I'm dying RIGHT NOW. Â I don't have much time left and I want to tell my girlfriend to feed my dog. Â Before I do, I must say, don't do it folks. Â Just turn and walk away. Â
Well, I can feel my heart stopping. Â Gotta run!
RIP Me.
This is NOT one of the "better Chinese restaurants in Marin" as put by other reviewer...
I dined in for lunch special. Â Typical lunch special you find anywhere at Chinese place. Â But my meal was quite bland, and not "huge Cheesecake Factory" portions as other reviewer stated. Â
It was eerie and creepy inside. Â No atmosphere music so you can hear everyone else smacking and chomping away, or their conversation (so quiet it makes you wanna whisper...weird). Â There was crap ALL in the corners up against the wall... so obviously not very clean. Â My teapot had DUST on it.
There is WAY better Chinese places in Marin... just get out and look.
When I went to College of Marin, my friends and I would go here for lunch once a week almost every week. The lunch specials are all in the $5 to $7 price range, and with Cheesecake Factory-style portions and good quality food, it's a much better deal than the overly greasy hot plate food you would normally get for that kind of money.
The place has an overall relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and the staff works pretty quickly too. It's a great restaurant considering the nearby alternatives.
One of the better Chinese places in Marin (not saying much). Â This is an old-school mom & pop shop near COM. Â I get take out from here about once a week and have yet to be disappointed. Â The portions are big. Â The veggies are usually crisp and fresh. Â Spicy dishes aren't so hot as to be inedible. Â Service for take out is always fast. Â My only beef is that I have to ask for soy sauce and they never seem to give me enough..
Review Source:I have been going to Kin Wah since I was 8 years old. Â My family would order take out from here once a week, order way too much, and thrive on leftovers for a while. Â I was so protective over the leftovers, that when friends came over after school, I would only allow them a few small pieces of lemon chicken, and everyone knew that the potstickers were totally off limits.
The place is run by a very nice lady and her husband, and the food is amazing. Â However, I must admit I haven't tried everything on the menu. Â My family ordered the same thing every time (and still does when we are all together every so often) from Kin Wah including:
-Potstickers (an absolute must - I consider myself a potsticker expert, and these are my favorite of anywhere)
-Lemon chicken (battered/friend, not too lemony, but delicious)
-Broccoli beef (amazing sauce for the rice)
-Chicken chow mein
-Green beans (ask for no garlic if it's too much)
It's not the most amazing atmosphere, but call ahead (still have the number memorized: 415 457-2900) and get some great take-out!
Don't forget the potstickers!
