Overall, we had a very pleasant experience at Jade King. Â Our server was attentive and very conscientious about delivering food to order. Â We made a special request to not include onions or scallions in the Chicken Fried Rice and our server was right on top of that request. Â The food was delicious - a little on the salty side, but not too overwhelming. Â The bartender makes a good, strong drink - no complaints there!
Review Source:Good Chinese Food. I tend to order same  menu of dishes Beef Chow Foon, Eggplant, General Gau's Chicken, Egg Foo Yong,  and Combo appetizer platter. Sometimes eat there, more often a take out. Service when I dined in was fine. Can't speak to the sushi. I am judgmental on Chinese food, it is a 4 star for this area but a 3 star against places I prefer for Chinese food. I eat in Chinatown about every other week so that is the measure I am using.
Review Source:Very, very poor customer service and customer appreciation here. I tried to order a bunch of combo plates for New Years and guess what? They don't sell them on New Years because they are "complicated"! They had no problem when I ordered everything in huge expensive sides though! The manager was a compete jerk about it too. Please don't waste your time with these people.
Review Source:We used to love this place, but lately it has been hit or miss. Â Sometimes the food tastes great and sometimes it doesn't. Â As of late, we feel that it has been more miss.
Our last order took approximately 2 hours to be delivered. Â We were told that it would take about 45 minutes to an hour, which was typical. Â Two hours is a little excessive. Â
We are currently exploring other Chinese restaurants to replace King Jade.
I had a delivery order. Â The boneless spare ribs were great. The steak teriyaki and chicken fingers were good. Â The cashew chicken was okay but was a little soupy. Â I was not impressed with the schezwan beef because there was no much beef in it (as compared to other Chinese restaurants). Â Overall okay.
Review Source:I had heard good things about this place and thought I'd give it a try.
I ordered the sesame chicken lunch special "to go" and when I arrived to pick it up, thinking it wasn't even ready yet, I asked if I could just change my order to dine in instead.
One would think that I wanted her first born child. I was very rudely told that when you order to go, you must take your food and LEAVE! I was treated like a homeless person looking for a hand out. The person at the bar kept pointing in one direction and saying "it not allowed" when I asked who or what she was pointing at she said her boss. "Boss lady" finally looked up and came over to tell me I had to leave. Even a few men at the bar were disgusted with this "policy". The boss lady tried to give some crazy reason saying that the wait staff wouldn't get a tip and "it no fair to them". Whatever! Of course I would tip jeezus all this over a dollar????
I should have told them to take the order and stick it, but admittedly, Â I was starving. So I paid and left to go eat my order "elsewhere". I checked the bag to make sure I had a fork... Nope had to go back in and ask for a fork ugh. Boss lady finally rudely pointed to a box and muttered something under her breath. I WILL NOT RETURN EVER!!
Now, the main question - Â can their rudeness and total lack of regard for customer service be saved by the food? Â Nope, not even close. The chicken was a fatty gross blob of gooey mess, it's literally all the scraps of dark meat they can scrape off a chicken and smash together. I ate the crab ragoon and some rice, but I should have just canceled the order and gone next door to Jube's. Shoot there's better service and food at Burger King. If you're craving Chinese food in this area, try one town over JADE GARDEN in UPTON.
I WILL NEVER RETURN TO KING JADE ever again. ZERO STARS
After moving to the area last fall, I ventured out to find my new neighborhood restaurants. (Pizza is a loss around here). As for chinese, I was fortunate to find King Jade first. They deliver, even once when it was snowing (lightly).
King Jade has THE Best wonton soup I've ever had. The wontons are stuffed with either a ground beef mix or a pork filling and have flavor. The soup itself has huge slice of pork in it and vegetable you can actually recognize. The first time I had it, I was actually nervous about eating it because I thought they screwed up my order, as I've never seen wonton soup that color and with so much good stuff int it. I've since gone there for just the soup on numerous occasions. My typical entres are the pepper steak, general gao's chicken, and some sezchuan spicy dishes with shrimp, etc. For the most part the food is great but the one item that I rate a chinese restaurant on is the egg rolls and at King Jade, they are horrible. The one item I have always ordered at any and every chinese restaurant I've ever been to is intollerably horrible. Hence the 3 stars.
A bit about my tastes: What I look for in chinese food is flavor, not just mass quantities of food. The general gaos is tasty, one place stands out as much better but considering the options in the area, this is my place. Please fix your egg rolls and you'll be a 4 star for sure.
BTW: also stopped in for Sushi. It was good but overpriced considering the dining room has crowded seating and lends itself to be loud. Service favors take out and seemed to wait forever. Â We ate fast just to get away from the loud children sitting next to us. Needless to say we didnt enjoy that experience.
Horrible, horrible service. I moved to town about a year ago and decided to visit for the first time. We stood at the door for ten min without so much as an acknowledgment. We figured we would seat ourselves and look at the paper menus. When a server finally came over we were told we couldn't order off that menu, even though they let us sit there reading it for another ten min without saying anything. The food came out quickly enough however our server was also horrible. We had to wait and ask for refills, sauce, and even the check.
The food was OK but over priced. I suggest Peking Wok down the street. The food is great, inexpensive, and the staff is very friendly.
King Jade has always had the best oriental food in the area, however, it was not somewhere that you'd like to go sit and have dinner until they recently did it over.
They've added a sushi bar, with full liquor bar as well, and completely redecorated. It's warm and welcoming, and was VERY busy last Friday night when my daughter and I went.
Although the wait staff seemed a bit over worked, the food was delicious, as usual, and the sushi was fresh.
It was ok. We stopped in here with a hankering for chinese. The girl behind the counter was pretty surly and uninterested in taking our order. To top it off, my order didn't get placed, so I ended up eating one of the appetizers. The food was just ok - the peking raviolis were pretty good, Â but everything else was mediocre. The fried rice was tasteless.
We won't be going back. Not the worst I've ever had, but a fry cry from what I was expecting from a place that advertises that they're "one of the top 100 chinese restaurants" in the country.
First I must admit I have no idea where they are located or what the place looks like as I have never been there. I have been lucky enough to have had take out from here a few times because they deliver to Sutton (where my mother in law lives).
The food is tasty and they don't skimp on the portions.
No need to worry about giving your credit card information over the phone. The driver carries a portable credit card machine with him, kinda cool the first time I saw it.
This place, next to the "Burger Heaven" (aka Jube's), is not that bad. I've been there a handful of times and have always been satisfied with their quality of food and service.
Their parking lot isn't that big, and when it's busy IT'S BUSY!!! When you walk in you think you're in a hole in a the wall type of quick chinese food place, but upon not turning around and getting food it is definitely more than a hole in the wall. There are some tables and chairs if you want to dine in (I have not done that yet) but it's main business is take home.
The menu has a wide variety of the usual Ameri-chinese staples (chicken fingers, General Gau, etc.) But it also has a Pad Thai section (Which I will try soon). Prices are REAAAAALLY good!! Meals are less than 8 dollars and come with either white rice, fried rice, lo mein, plus a small side of some sort (eggroll, chicken finger, crab rangoon, check out their menu) This is probably where their menu is the most worth it. We fed 4 HUNGRY people and had such a variety of food for only around $30. WHAT A DEAL!!!!
Overall, I support King Jade alot!!! Food quality is great, service is good and it's CHINESE FOOD!!!!! A definite hidden jewel of the blackstone valley!
The food was really not that great, and the quality was definitely below par. Â I have had Chinese from at least 8 places and this is prob the worst. Â If you want good Chinese, try Foodworks in Uxbridge (about 5 mins down the road). Â The have a lot better quality food, and healthier.
Review Source:I love, LOVE Chinese Food. I have tried it all over the place, and have to say the King Jade is so, so good. They are in a strip mall, and there isn't much of a dining room, so they do mostly pick up orders. The egg rolls are perfect and the chicken terriyaki is never, ever fatty. Â Also, they put eggs in their veggie fried rice. nom nom nom.
*sigh* I wish it was closer to our house.
