I enjoy coming to La Piñata. The food is always good and the drinks aren't too bad. You have plenty of options when it comes to their dishes and drinks. I've come here maybe once or twice for the brunch buffet, which is always a good thing.
The last time I was here though, was late on a Monday night. My fellow Yelpers, Jessica H. and Caro S., came here after a YEE event. We sat back in the tequila bar. It took a long time for us to get our half-pitcher of margarita. When we finally got out food, we had to ask for our drinks and more chips. Service is a hit or miss.
Lackluster lunch. I had the 1 taco lunch special with salad, rice and black beans. Â The chicken was shredded and had a funky taste. Â The salad was OK as I used salsa as my dressing. Â But due to the poor taste of the taco I just ate the black beans.
I'm not a advocate for beans due to health issues, but t was the most easiest thing to tolerate.
Maybe it's better for happy hour and not lunch, but I won't  be returning.
La Pinata is one of my go-to restaurants for lunch dates with my colleagues from work and while the food won't amaze and daze you, it's still pretty darn good, the portions are huge, and the lunch specials are reasonably priced. I like to order the taco salad because it has the word salad which makes me feel a little less guilty about stuffing my face with grotesque amounts of cheese and carbs. The salad comes out in a fried, flaky flour tortilla bowl filled with lettuce, refried beans, and your choice of beef, pork, or chicken. It's topped off with generous servings of pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese. What's best about La Pinata is how fast the food comes out, which makes getting back to work on time possible, even if I am sluggishly crawling back into the office in a post-food coma haze. Cheap, fast, and easy! (No innuendos, please!) Service is okay, could be friendlier, but servers are efficient and quick. I haven't tried the other items on the menu yet, mainly because I'm trying to watch my boyish figure, but I might come back for dinner service and eat until my distended belly forces me to loosen my belt.
