Yikes. I knew I was in trouble when I walked in and realized the whole place, save for the dance floor, was carpeted. There's something very strange and not-quite-right about a nightclub that is carpeted. Did a whole bunch of bros turn Mom's finished attic into a bar while she was on vacation?
Flooring aside, Lift is just about the trashiest club I've been to in Burlington. Its only competition might be Rasputin's. Luckily, if you want to do a comparison, Rasputin's is right downstairs! Overly revealing clothes (I know it's a night club, but seriously, it was bad), high high HIGH heels, and bad rap music abound at Lift. Eek!
I felt very uncomfortable the whole time I was there-- it probably wasn't wise to go sober.
I can't speak for the service, since I didn't have a drink there, but my friends ordered drinks and shots and seemed happy with what they got.
Overall, though, my advice is: AVOID. If you're looking for a good dance club scene in BTV, try a Saturday night at Metronome (90's night!) or Half Lounge.
It was my first time here so i'll just give it 4 stars for now. I don't know if it was the $5 shots, $8 drinks or that amazing bartender who was super nice and amazing but me and my friends had a very good time. On a Saturday Night the cover was $3 which isn't bad and free if you have your student id! Â So thats quite a deal. They have high top table and chairs and soft leather looking couches if you want to relax. The dance floor is huge if you want to dance it up. The music was top40s clubbing-type with some oldies mixed in so it was good.
This is a really good place for young professionals or college students who wants to either party it up (Cheap Drinks!) or just sit on the couch and lounge about.
