    The price was right...free :)

This little movie museum was unique and well worth the stop!  First you walk through a gift shop and then you can exit out back where the sets are.  They have a jar by the door asking for donations.

It was fun to be able to walk anywhere you wanted around the movie sets, try things on, take pictures of whatever you wanted, and they even had an old western playing.

If you are on your way to Bryce Canyon or just doing a tour of Utah - add this quirky place to your list!

Not what I was expecting, but it was free so I didn't hate it.

This place closes for the Winter so how lucky was I to be in town on March 1st the day it reopens for the season! I had no idea this was even here I mean who really would? I was in town visiting the nearby Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and noticed a "Little Hollywood" sign and was like what the heck is that?!?! I knew I had to check it out on the way back since I adore learning about *old hollywood*.

Since 1924 various movies and TV shows were filmed here. Nearby hotels (they call them hotels I say they look like motels) and restaurants hosted celebrities when they were in town filming. I found it impossible to go anywhere in this tiny town and not have a local resident telling me some story about the town and the celebs that worked and played here. Some I imagine might be embellished but that adds to the curiosity I suppose and keeps some people asking.

I was most interested in seeing actual movies props. To see them in person is such a cool feeling if you are into this sort of thing. Sure, it might just be an object but it is an object with a story. I personally found that to be the coolest part of the tour along with hearing the stories that went along with them. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard that Cecile B. DeMille made "Union Pacific" here. COOL! During the darkest days of the Great Depression, it was Hollywood film production that kept this little town alive. When Frank Sinatra came to town with his "rat pack" pals, he not only paid for the swimming pool at the Parry Lodge AND he bought football uniforms for the Kanab High School team! Who knew such a tiny little town ever had all this stuff going on. Too many shows and movies were filmed here to mention.

There is a gift shop and restaurant.

I know Kanab is not a big town and not a place you will necessarily want to keep going back to. It is nice to check out at least once. The tour here is FREE so if you do decide to stop in and check it out just keep in mind that it is free and you can't expect too much from a town that probably wouldn't even be here today if not for "Little Hollywood"!!
