My son and I flew in to Lodi on Saturday, April 27 and while there, decided to have breakfast at the Airport Cafe. Â
We arrived about 1000 AM and were seated immediately. Â As you can see by the breakfast menu picture taken, the menu is basic and limited. Â What's not seen is the fine print and cost for the sides and beverages near the bottom of the page. Â
When it came time to pay, I was handed a ticket for $25 bucks (before tip) which I thought was way high for just an Omelets, OJ, a Two Egg Breakfast and a cup of Coffee. Â But when it came time for me to crunch the numbers, I came to the conclusion that everything cost. Â I originally wanted three eggs and since the two egg breakfast was one shy, I ordered an additional egg at $1.50. Â My son had OJ to drink and I had Coffee. Â Both of us had refills and we we're charged accordingly for each cup or glass drank.
My breakfast was okay. Â Nothing fancy or special, just okay. Â My son said his omelet was great. Â He said the sausage was outstanding and he thought the sliced avocado on top gave the dish a unique flavor.
The restaurant is very cute and wholesome. Â It's designed to look like a airport hanger. Â All the luggage, crates and shipping containers included. Â The restroom was clean and smelled fresh and had very modern fixtures.
Overall a nice place I'd return to if I was flying that way but, not a place I would drive because I've had better.
I have been flying in once every couple of months for breakfast for years. Â I flying out of Livermore and it is a nice short flight to bring friends along. Â The Cafe was closed last July for a remodel and Wow what a difference! Â The place is beautiful, done in an aviation theme, lots of riveted sheet metal and the DC-3 wing tip is a nice touch.
The food is great, try the apple sauce pancakes!
