We took our family here for our daughter's birthday. Â She ordered the wings, well done. Â They came our underdone and sat untouched. Â The waitress never asked if there was an issue. Â It was busy, so we didn't try sending them back, since it took awhile for our food to come in the first place. Â The waitress also charged for a kids soda (2) that should've come with our other daughter's kids meal. Â She was the only one that ordered a soda, so it was obvious. Â We shorted the waitress the two dollars on her tip because of the iffy service, the incorrect wings and the overcharge on the soda. Â We felt this was easier than arguing the point on the soda and continuing to wait for her to get it corrected. Â When our credit card bill came, she had changed the 6 dollar tip to an 8 dollar tip. Â We posted a review, was contacted by "Charlotte T" about a refund and a gift certificate and was asked for a description of the waitress. Â We emailed back to her and have not heard anything. Â Very disappointed in what used to be a restaurant we had on rotation. Â Also, our previous review that my wife wrote is now taken down??
Review Source:My wife and I had always seen this place from the tollroad do we thought we would give it a try.
We are very patient people but it took about 5 minutes for us to be served. Once we got our beers, it took another 20 minutes to order. Looked there was only 2 servers and that was not enough.
Well it took the food another 20 minutes to be served, but surprisingly it was really good. We got the buffalo chicken sandwich (big portion) and some tasty beer cheese soup. If you can put up with some slow service to get to the food, you won't be disappointed.
The Londoner is close by my house, so it gets "STARS" just for that fact. Â I visit the Londoner every few months or so. Â I like the pub and wonder sometimes why I don't go that often. Â The food is okay. Â To be fair, I have only had a few items off the menu. Â Cheeseburgers are a solid choice, fries are good, buns good as well. Â Chicken Tenders are hit or miss. Â When they first opened they were very good and then they changed the batter. The new batter is not as good, but not the worst I've ever had. Â Now to the beer, lots of choices on tap, but Shiner Bock, my favorite is not among them. Â I prefer tap beer, so I recommend that they get some, or at least Ziegen Bock. Â Atmosphere wise it is very dark with few windows. Â The only windows are near the pool tables and away from the bar, tables and eating area. Â I wish the windows were in view. Â Prices are a bit more than some other Frisco bar/pubs. Â Wait staff has always been great! Â I hope that they do well and continue to serve the North side of Frisco, as we don't have as many options and the 121/Preston area. Â I recommend you give it a try and decide for yourself.
Review Source:A great authentic pub! Â The pub is usually a hopping place, the only downside is being that it is next to the FC Dallas stadium, if there is a game going on you will not be able to find parking. Â
The food is great and drinks are even better. Â The atmosphere is great with a great waitstaff. Â Our waiter, Preston, was the hit of the night. Â A lot of personality, yet very down to earth. Â No major complaints, we plan to come back here as often as we can.
I'll keep this simple: If you are going to complain about the prices, go buy a case of beer and drink at home. If you are going to complain about there not being enough darts, go buy a dart board and play at your home. If you are a normal person looking for a place to have a drink or two with friends, the Londoner is the only bet in North Frisco.
Review Source:Been here twice. For these two visits, I gotta go five stars. Both waitresses knew something about beer. Yes, you heard that right, I said waitRESSES had a conversation with me about IPAs and with the other one about Tripels. Maybe it was just luck but how often do you find that? Second, the grilled chicken kebobs were awesome. Chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was fantastic. Then we go over to shoot some darts and they have a pretty good steel tip set behind the bar. Nothing to complain about. A little pricey but I'll pay for it if the place is getting it right on all cylinders. They are, I'll pay.
Review Source:Good location. The food is hit and miss... our burgers' buns were soggy on the bottom and hard on top, and the chiken tiki masala had too much of an oily, watery sauce. The mussels as appetizers were excellent though. Drinks were decent. Good selection of beer, but one of our party had the cranberry juice and didn't like it.
Service was pretty bad when we last visited. Letting appetizer plates sit on tables for 20 minutes after they had been emptied. Forgetting a drink order.
Im seeing a lot of complaints about pricing. Two things, you're at a place that carries specialty beers. those places charge more to carry those beers. Your bud light is $4? Suck it up or don't drink. Secondly, it's frisco so expect higher prices.
I have eaten here and tried 4-5 different plates. It's good food. Is is Pappadeaux or a steak house obviously not. But for 12 bucks they have a ton of good food. it's prepared well and made with care.
Chicken Tikki Masala
Corn Beef Hash (My fav)
Mac and Cheese
Bangers n Mash
Shepard's pie
Are you taking full advantage of your local hangouts, bars, and restaurants in the Frisco, Texas community? This past weekend I explored this question for myself and sought out my answer at The Londoner in Frisco by Frisco Square. What I came to realize was there are a handful of do's and don'ts, keys to success, or even rules if you will, to fully taking advantage of this British style pub:
DO: Let your waiter/waitress briefly walk you through the drink menu (including beers, wines, liquors and cocktails) and make recommendations off of your preferences.
DON'T: Wing it and take a stab in dark at ordering a drink based off of the name alone.
WHY: My waiter was great at The Londoner! He offered to walk my friend and I through our personal preferences but like fools, we declined and resorted to selecting our drinks quickly in an effort to start the night. While our selections were okay, they weren't quite what either of our taste buds were really after that night. We called our waiter back over and he ever so kindly walked us through the menu and guided us the the right choices for us. I had an Abita Purple Haze and it was definitely that solid choice I should have gone with during round 1. Thanks awesome Londoner waiter for the steering us back on course!
DO: Look up local events for the pub and attend them.
DON'T: Show up too late and miss the highlights!
WHY: This past week, The Londoner - Frisco had a handful of events/specials to celebrate Dallas Beer Week. I was so excited to take part in the festivities, but didn't make it out until the last day on Saturday evening only to realize that I missed most of the highlights from the week. I still had a great time (how could you not?) and even tough I missed out on the climax of the festivities, there were still plenty of fun options do to everyday at The Londoner.
DO: Order an appetizer! There are some tasty ones to choose from.
DON'T: Over order with an appetizer, a cup a soup with bread, and an entree while washing it all down with a couple beers.
WHY: I had the Chorizo and Cheddar Stuffed Jalapenos for an appetizer at The Londoner - Frisco, and they were delicious! But then I let my appetite get the best of me as I proceeded to order way too much food for one person including the Tomato Soup with Cheese Toast and Chicken Skewers. I made it through the soup and toast when I realized I was out of room and didn't get a chance to try my main entree. I guess my eyes were bigger than my stomach this time around, but I'm sure I'll be back to try those Chicken Skewers soon!
DO: Play pool or darts!
DON'T: Wait too long to claim a spot in the pool or darts stations.
WHY: I love a great game of pool and darts! The Londoner - Frisco has a great set up for both games. When I first got there, both areas were vacant but after about 45 minutes, both pool and darts sections had ongoing games and you could feel the competitive spirits in the air! Word to the wise, grab those available pool or darts area opportunities while they're open. They sure fill up fast and are sure to contribute to a fun filled night.
Follow these do's and don'ts to point you in the right direction, but even if you choose to steer your own way you'll be sure to have a great time! The Londoner - Frisco has tons to offer such as weekly specials, events, full menu including brunch, and a range of beers, wines, liquors and cocktails. Don't miss out.
To start I am not basing my judgement of this place on their food. Â If I want food I will go to a restaurant. Â If I want a cocktail I go to a bar/pub. Â With that said this place is incredibly pricey. Â I'm used to being over charged for a rum and coke but even their beer is pricey. Â I don't think a beer is worth 5 dollars or more. Â I would love to go here all the time because of the great location and people I know raving about the food but I can't justify spending that kind of money on the drinks. Â I've been here several times and the service is up and down. Â Some nights it is great and some nights it is just ok. Â The decor is cool but I don't think it is worth the extra price.
Review Source:We stopped by the Londoner for after-drinks drinks on Thanksgiving weekend. The place was pretty crowded and loud. Seemed like a nice enough bar with a decent selection.
We did not get a table, we just hung out by the dartboards, wanting to play darts. I was pretty disappointed to find out that they did not have enough darts for our group. There were only three darts available to borrow. There are three dart boards and there was only one other game going. So, assuming that the other group borrowed two sets of darts, that means the bar only has three sets of darts even though they have three dart boards? A place that prominently features metal darts should have plenty of darts available, along with backups in case some go missing.
All in all, the bar seemed fine, and the service was okay. But we came to play darts so we were disappointed. It was not possible for us to play a real game. For that reason I'm going with two stars.
This place never lets me down. The rotational taps are the reason I keep coming back. They have new beer everytime I come in and they are always awesome! Not to mention after I've had a couple, I need to eat and their food is amazing. They have food specials too so if  you're like me and eat there often, it's always nice to try something new. Never disappointed. Great service, great food. Can't get any better than that!
Review Source:Ate there last night and had Bangers and Mash with Yorkshire pudding. Â It was good British food. Â I had a couple of beers, one off the recommendation of the waitress. Â It was a good draft. Â The only true disappointment is the price of a pint. Â $6 for my first beer and $4 for a bud-light draft. Â That hurts, especially when other places charge $4 for 22oz. Â
I like The Londoner, just a bit too pricey.
About 25 days ago the owner of this place contacted me suggesting they would try to make up for my bad experience by giving me a gift card for two, suggesting we retry the place since they have new management. I followed instructions to get the gift card and still have not received it. I emailed the owner back to let them know and after waiting a week ago I still haven't heard back. I appreciate the gesture but now you've just wasted more of my time than your pub did in the first place.
Review Source:First time here and we happened to come by looking for brunch on a Saturday before going to the Frisco Farmer's Market. Â We were the only people there and at first thought the door was left unlocked while they were doing set up for lunch service. Â But no, they have a weekend breakfast menu.
We both had the corned beef. Â It was the strangest corned beef hash I have ever had, Â different isn't always bad. Â Instead of hash I would call it more of a skillet dish, without the skillet. Â It was layered with sliced corned beef, cubed potatoes, onions and red peppers, then cheese with two eggs on top. Â It was all very good, prepared well.
They also have a bloody mary or mimosa special so for the sake of Yelpers I tried the bloody mary. Â It was great. Â Spicy and yummy.
I'll be fair with this review, and consider this separate from the others.
I've been here twice, the first time was after a FC Dallas game to watch the Rangers play. I was drunk, but gave it a second chance. Here's my experience.
They are known for good beers, this one has my favorite beer on tap. Belhaven Scottish Ale is only good from a can or from a tap. The selection is great, and I certainly can't complain.
I tasted my friend's Fish and Chips. Not too shabby, the batter obviously was beer batter. I just wish the batter actually had some flavor. It was so bland that the beer batter was slightly bitter.
The venue is not the best in layout, but it works. The upstairs has a large TV, but it only faces one direction, and sits in the middle of the upstairs. Half the upstairs can't view any games. That side also is open with hardly any seating. They should consider at least one more TV for the side of the upstairs.
The waitresses are nice, but if it's a busy day, like a HUGE game on, you have to lower your expectations of them. I get it, I've worked in the food industry. Waiting for almost 30 minutes for food was just ridiculous.
It's a fun place, and they have the games I want to see. I may not make this my hangout, but I will consider it for other things.
Check it out, try the beers, but not the fish and chips. Â Also, don't go when there's a huge sports event.
What a cheery little bar "on the square" in McKinney. Our waiter was very nice and knew the menus well. We had iced tea - oh and don't ask no sweet tea (thank goodness). My lunch companion had a nice wrap sandwich and I had the Shepherd's Pie. One pair asked about bangers and mash - I just about fell over when my companion said she thought it bangers were a cracker of some kind. But then the people at the next table didn't know either. Bangers, folks, and mash are a British Isle specialty. They're delicious sausages and mashed potatoes and it's an incredible combination any time of the day. They do have fish and chips at this place but of course they're nothing like Long John Silver's as one man told another table.
The Shepard's Pie is very, very good - but not inspired. The Irish version Trinity Restaurant in Dallas is better. This version lacked fresh seasoning - still like some other things in life (pizza, that's it) - its still good even if it's not great. One waiter though for the whole place - and great service (as I said). They have an average beer menu for a place this size. My partner and I shared chocolate chip pudding for dessert - it had this rum butter glaze. It really was scrumptious.
Overall this place is charming, the waiter did a great job and the food was very good. One plus at lunch time is that they're not all that busy. Don't count on them seating you at lunch - just find a table and they'll find you. Nice people.
We stopped here with an hour to kill to get a beer & a snack before a movie on a Saturday night. The Londoner accomplished the hour killing part & that's about it. A for effort on the food (split fish & chips) but nothing stellar. I didn't try the Mac & cheese but that looked good and my friend raved about it. Ok so maybe I'm being hard on them, but what do you go to a pub for? Beer.
Maybe I'm spoiled by my OKC fave pubs, but it seemed the menu of choices was lacking. We all found one we could live with, only to find out that they were all flat. Flat funky beer at a pub? Disgraceful. Turns out they were aware of the problem but didn't feel the need to warn patrons. Epic fail. They did refund the one that was sent back (the worst offender) and the others were gulped in time to make it to the Avengers. I can't say that I will hear The Londoner calling me back for more.
I live very close, so I'm in here quite often.
For a bar, the food is pretty good. Mainly British, but they have a darn good burger, too. They refreshed the menu recently, so check out the new items if you haven't been in a while.
Tons of beers. I think there are 20+ on tap alone. Way more in bottles. Brandon does a great job of rotating the taps, and there is always a good selection of beers from the DFW area. Melody is very knowledgeable about the beers and always has great, new suggestions for me.
They tend to get busy (and sometimes rowdy) for big soccer games, and especially before the FC Dallas games. Otherwise, it's a pretty relaxed environment, with quite a bit of space at the bar and dining areas. Lots of TVs, incl a huge screen for the "big" game, darts, pool table, and a second floor for special events.
I'd also recommend following the Facebook page (<a href="/redir?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fpages%2FLondoner-Frisco%2F109177835809329&s=286b31453c2bde8d251a8ae082e557edf7d35bc2773e889855d7465da72e3303" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.facebook.com…</a>) to get updates about events. They regularly do tap takeovers, wherein a particular brewery is featured by dedicating an unusually high number of taps to all the beers of that brewery. Representatives from the brewery often attend and give away promo items, usually glasses. Good beer and a free glass!
This is a great place to just hang out in Frisco. They have a large selection of beers and has a nice "pub" sort of feel without it being too dark or too roudy.
The menu has the usual english pub fare like bangers and mash and shepherds pie which are fantastic but the thing that I really love to order when I go there is the wings on the appetizer menu. They have a nice hint of ginger and spice that is a welcome surprise in a pub.
HUGE FAN!!! HUGE
I loved our waitress/bartender Chelsea SHE ROCKED!
Couldn't decide what I felt like having because hadn't had a thing to eat for over 24hrs because we were just too busy so it was difficult but than I saw it the Mac N Cheese but I can't just have silly mac I have to have it special
I ordered it just the way I love - Spicy w/ Seared Tuna and some green veggies! Let me just say the Chef hooked it up and everyone was raving about it. Â
So delish - he may put it on the menu Jwls Mac but we will see if not just go ask them to make it the way you like & he will hook you up
We had some drinks and enjoyed some girl time
The hummus is good as well - not pasty
I will go back at least once a month for my Jwls Mac fix ;~D Delish
My only complaint is that they need to remove the odd wood shelving at the bar - they are in the way UGH
Very glad to see The Londoner in Frisco! The ambiance was great and it seemed to really capture the pub feeling. We didn't eat while there, but did enjoy the beer and atmosphere.
Their selection on tap was a little lacking, but I was glad they gave me a chance to try out Franconia Brewing which was a solid choice and one that I'm going to have to start looking out for more often now.
The waitress we had did a good job of making sure we were always attended to and I never had a point where my beer was completely empty without having another already on the way when needed.
Good Sandwiches, Long beer list, Good atmosphere!
Ate here on a Saturday night - the place was packed and thankfully we got were lucky enough to snag the last two seats in the bar area. My husband and I shared the Reuben and Chicken & Avocado sandwich. The Reuben included spicy coleslaw and was absolutely awesome, don't miss it! Â Other menu items, like the fish & chips, passing by us looked delish too!
This probably more of a 3.5 star review. Â Its a cozy place, exactly what you would expect from an English pub. Â The beer selection is pretty massive and I wasn't turned off by the price. Â Our waitress was really good about making beer reccomendations and was really friendly. Â
Food was pretty good. Â Everyone at the table raved about how tasty the burger was. Â I ordered the Fish & Chips and although it was really good, I was disapointed with the portion size. (you get 2 pieces of fish with fries for $13)
Overall it was a good experience, I'd come back there again.
Watched the Argentina-Mexico soccer match here. Nice place to hang out and watch sports with friends. They have a huge selection of beers.
Tried the guinness for the first time - strong and bitter for my taste buds but it did grow up on me. Tried the "London Kiss" cocktail. Was quite refreshing.
Had to try the fish and chips. The fish was ok not that great. The fries were crispy and tasted good. Got the chicken-avocado sandwich which was huge and the chicken was grilled perfectly - juicy and flavorful.
Will definitely go back and try their lunch and dinner menu.
This place is H-O-T! 6 reviews, and they just opened 2 weeks ago! Let me tell you why :)
I was pleased walking in the door noticing the little "nooks" where some small groups could gather. I saddled up at a cocktail table at the back of the bar (self seating) and was greeted within a minutes. For a Saturday it was a good crowd, but not obnoxious where you couldn't move. Especially with the World Cup, I was surprised.
Pints of Guinness were $6, and I tried the Bangers and Chips. The bangers (sausages) were okay, but that's just how they are. The chips/ fries were very tasty. I really liked how they went the extra step to actually provide vinegar with your chips.
What striked me the most was the crowds age. It was a very mature, 30+ crowd. I guess I was just expecting 21yr. olds rummaging through there. Though it was nice seeing a bunch of "blokes" having a good chat and a pint.
Okay, I realize giving five stars for a short visit may be pushing it, but I love this pub. Â First, it is non-smoking, which is a problem for The Londoner in Addison. Â Second, it really has that old style pub feel, which is hard to get in the suburbs. Â Third, great food. Â We had brunch, and I had the biscuits and gravy with porkchops...excellent (and dangerous for the heart and gut...). Â For the home run, GREAT beer. Â Many draft choices, and good bottle choices as well.
This place is a bit north, but great place to go when visiting friends, since it is right at the tollway and main street. Â Ample parking, and near Pizza Hut Park.
We've been waiting for this pub to open, and now that it is we took the first opportunity that we had a babysitter to try it out. My wife has been to the location in McKinney, but I've never been to any of them.
Pretty cool place with a very authentic British Pub feel. Plenty of beer on draught, not as many as the Flying Saucer but that is hard to compete with. The selection is augmented by a good list of bottled beer too. There were a few beers on tap here that I hadn't tried before, always fun. I decided to start off the night with a Kilkennys Cream Ale, very good.
The food menu is better than most bars we've been to in the DFW area, quite a large selection. Obviously most of the menu has a British theme, but what I like is that they included some of the Indian influenced items as well. Missing were the samosas that my wife had seen on the menu at the Addison location's website.
We had the chips and curry starter, basically their fries served with two curry dips. The fries themselves were worth it, and the excellent curry dips were icing on the cake...or, well, I suppose dip on the chips.
I was going to order the steak and ale pie, but after sharing the fries and seeing the size of the pie as it wandered to a nearby table I decided to share the burger with Keri. I felt a bit lame ordering a burger at a English Pub, but it wasn't disappointing. Very well cooked with a great seasoning. Cheese, avocado and bacon were all extra charges but made for a very tasty burger. Even though it didn't list them on the menu fries came with the burger as well, but we'd had our fill of those already.
Over all this is a place I can see us hanging out more in the future...well, maybe the rumored location at the Watters Creek shops, being as it looks like we're moving to Allen soon.
I have waited and waited and waited for The Londoner to open. Â In fact I saved this review for my 100th just cause I waited for so long. Â My wait is finally over because the doors are open and the beer is flowin'!!! The Londoner was packed when we went because it was the grand opening. They did a GREAT job transforming the interior of the building into an authenticate looking pub. Â There's a second floor but it wasn't open when we were there. Even though it was crazy busy our waitress ran her butt off all night and took excellent care of us.
I think this location only has 26 beers on tap but they have tons of bottled beer. We didn't eat but the fish n chips looked and smelled great.
Finally we have a place to hang out in Frisco.
This place is OK but nowhere near as good as the Addison location. Expensive inside and Police everywhere outside. Kids running around the place and getting wacked in the arm by the waitresses and kitchen staff cleaning the tables isn't my idea of a good time. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and they didn't have it..
On the plus side its easy to get to and has ample parking unlike the Uptown location..Its fairly new so I hope it gets better as it could be a really decent pub.
My sweet husband and I were perusing yelp looking for some interesting Irish or British style pubs...We were looking to celebrate the anniversary of our friendship turning romantic, and that happened 3 years ago while hanging at The Draught House in Austin. Â Sadly, this year - geography prevented us from returning to our original "love nest". Â We initially set out for The Londoner in Addison, but the yelp mobile app indicated a brand spanking new location in Frisco. Â Frisco's going to be a lot more accessible location to our future home - so we redirected.
We arrived feeling a little nostalgic & romantic and with an open mind. Â Pretty standard draft selections with a few eccentric but "old school" options...I had a Maredsous 8 and hubby had a Guinness. Â Beer was definitely good.
As far as the food goes, my husband had the fish & chips and I had the burger with blue cheese. Â We also shared an order of the grilled chicken kebabs with two dipping sauces. Â Overall, the food was tasty, serviceable, and satisfactory. Â At current, it's probably not going to win any culinary prizes - but it's definitely a notch above standard pub fare.
I think this spot opened on Saturday 5/22 - so this was like their 5th day of service. Â It got pretty busy towards the end of the evening, and things were going pretty smoothly for a new establishment. Â Apparently, they will be showing all the World Cup games here...huge incentive to return next month. Â In addition to the beer selection - there's a full bar and limited selection of wines. Â I'm anxious to return and check out the brunch menu and drinks.
A Genuine 3+ and gets an extra star for fulfilling our nostalgic needs.
