Lone Goose Saloon

I dug Lone Goose! My friend and I checked it out on a recent Saturday and loved the funky vibe! (I ordered a sandwich from the Sandwich Farm next door and they brought it to me @ Lone Goose- YUM!). Indoors was full of "regulars," funky art was  everywhere, they have a stage for live entertainment and a cool interior of HIGH vaulted ceilings and some exposed brick. Yes, it's a smoking establishment, but, with the door to the patio open (if weather permits, and it did) and the fact that they have several ceiling fans, I didn't hear any complaints. We checked out the patio (which had no patrons at the time) and it has a small outdoor bar, a flat screen TV and is pet friendly (pets on leashes of course). Oh, and I saw a sign where Lone Goose does offer at least a couple of bar snacks if you don't want to order from Sandwich Farm.
I love the vibe of this area, the "lumberyard area" of HSV and am glad to see it in my hometown. Check out Lone Goose! Get a sandwich at Sandwich Farm and if you want to venture out more, Furniture Factory is just around the corner. Oh, and there's a free trolley around the downtown area, so if you plan it right you can check out all of bustling downtown in one evening! The Lone Goose is a great casual bar. This isn't just any run of the mill bar, though. From the moment you walk through the doors, this place just feels...different.

It has a rustically folksy look. It's also has a patio for canines and their owners. The bar staff was very friendly (I was particularly pleased she knew what an Old Fashioned was!). Tuesday night Live Trivia is a lot of fun, also.

Things to know: LGS does not serve food, but it's okay to bring food in. Canines are welcome, but must stay on the patio with their owners. It is a smoking facility.
