Gigantic burgers, fried EVERYTHING, and a bar? hell yes. This place is just what you need on a night where you've stopped counting your Weight Watchers Points, and you're prepared for an extra hour of exercise the next day.
There aren't many tables here, and i'm not exactly sure what their busy period is. I've normally eaten here around 7-9pm and have always been able to be seated.
Some of the best burgers in Akron. Â They're thick, large, and cooked just right. Â I wouldn't say they're as good as Swensons, but they're still pretty damn good. Â I've found that the worst burger they served here, while still acceptable, is their burger with blue cheese. Â Anything else is mouth-watering and thick, just how burgers should be.
Louie's is a very dive-y restaurant. Â It's Annabell's with burgers and no hipsters to piss you off with their eclectic music and their bizarre piercings. Â In other words, expect to walk in to the restaurant seeing a messy floor, where it is likely covered with popcorn, which is complimentary here. Â The building Louie's is in is small and narrow, so there are only a few tables.
Other than the burgers, Louie's isn't that deep of a restaurant. Â They serve other dishes, such as cheesy fries, that are quite greasy but worth the painful heart attack after you get home. Â They do have a full bar with a wide variety of drink selections to please any drinker.
If you are on Route 8 near Tallmadge Ave. or Glenwood and are hungry, I'd recommend trying this place out if you're looking for a burger that has won numerous local awards.
We took the family here and really enjoyed ourselves. Â Relatively small, in a good way - your standard tables and booths. Â $5 in the jukebox yielded about 15-20 songs that took us back to the 70's.
They have mastered the art of the burger and fried food. Â Burgers were terrific - some of the best around town. Â The fried food was probably some of the best fried food I've had in some time. Â Good breading without the mega grease drip-off. Â We had the fried pickles and cauliflower....unusual but tasty!
One of a myriad of places throughout Akron that are still family run, with a strong focus on the customer and surrounding community. Â Unexpectedly family friendly too!
