It always smells like a bar, even in the restaurant section.  But food menu has improved, and beer selection is for the lite-beer swilling crowd.  Thankfully they do have several local brews and micro brews.  great space for meeting after work!

We went on a very quiet Tuesday night because I was too tired to cook and I was craving french fries with gravy. This is one of the few places that don't look at you like you're crazy when you request it. I had a burger and my playmate-for-life had a PeCran chicken salad wrap. We both had fries and gravy and a Turbo Dog. Service was fast and friendly, the place was spotlessly clean, and the fries with gravy were perfect.

Working in Regency Park means having to explore Cary for lunch options and yeah, eventually Macgregor Draft House hit my radar screen!  A little bit pub and a little bit restaurant, MDH serves up your typical American bar fare with a slew of beers on tap.  Inside they've got a main dining room, small in-between spot for darts and games before you hit the bar/pub area.  Nothing too fancy, just think corporate beeratorium.

I've been here twice, once for beers and the other time for lunch.  The most striking thing about MDH is the service.  They're built for speed and volume so they do know what they are doing.  I've had the fried pickle chips (generous basket) and a burger with cheddar and onion rings.  The burger was cooked medium well and had the barbeque sauce neatly tucked away on the bottom, although I thought they had forgotten it!  The food here is solid but nothing that will blow you away which is fine by me.  With the great service and wide selection of beers, I think MacGregor Draft House delivers exactly what it promises which is great for Cary locals looking for a casual meal....

good selection of local NC beers and other microbrews.  Food is general bar food about what you can get anywhere, but the wings were tasty.

I must say- I love the draft house!  They always have wonderful brews, and many to choose from.  Their bartenders are extremely sweet & helpful.  Their food is great-  a bit better than just "bar food" if you ask me.  They also have half-orders of some of their appetizers, which I appreciate tremendously! Their prices are more than reasonable, and they often have good pint specials (Mon & Thurs, I think).

Had dinner last night for our date night.  The draft beer specials were Turbo Dog and Yuengling.  We had the Turbo Dog and it was very good  and nice and cold.  We sat at a nice booth and were very comfortable.  Both our Server and the hostess were very nice.

I had the PeCran Salad with grilled Salmon on Top and Raspberry Vinaigrette.  The fish was good (not Babymoon good but good)  and the salad was very  nice - I felt filled and satisfied but not stuffed.

My husband had the Black and Blue Salad also with Salmon on top.  He had the blue cheese dressing which he said was very good.

We had an enjoyable meal and were able to talk and chat and relax.

I discovered this place mostly because my parents happened to get a hotel room just about across the street from here. We stopped in here for lunch.

NC State was playing. BELIEVE me, you would not have missed that.

Aside from the random yelling, I had a really nice time here. We came here on a Saturday for lunch. They had some nice specials going on that day, including all their seasonals. Their beer selection is pretty good - they have a nice selection of craft beers, sampling heavily from the local options. Nothing terribly uncommon, but solid options all around.

I had ribs for lunch (they were on special). They were pretty good and SUPER tender, but not the best (but what would you expect from a bar like this?). Other food I tried was also solid, though nothing terribly exceptional.

One of the things I absolutely loved was the vibe of the place. It had just a bit of a divey feel to it without going into the subpar range. A great little low-key place to grab some food and some good beer.

Good pub food and family friendly. Service was very fast for a Friday night even with almost every table filled (at least a third had kids). They do a team serving approach so we had 3 different servers and it wasn't a problem when we needed more time to review the menu or needed refills on our drinks.

I had a burger with the spicy chicken dip which was an interesting combo and I enjoyed it. The kids all loved their food, my wife thought her burger was a little undercooked but I got to finish it the next day so I'm okay with that. If you are someone who's nervous about medium rare just take that into consideration when ordering (she probably asked for medium).

I enjoyed our weekend visit to MacGregor Draft House! I had the turkey reuben, which was very good. They had a nice variety of sides to choose from. The wairess recommended sweet potato tots, and they were so good!

Everyone at our table got something different, and everyone enjoyed their dishes.

I liked the outdoor dining area. The food was ok! I'll definitely try this place again.

Decent sports bar. There are lots of TV's and good beer specials, but the food is only so-so. I prefer Tyler's Taproom or Carolina Ale House for watching a game because I like the food better.

I'm a wing snob, and these things just didn't measure up - at all. I got the hottest on the menu and I swear my best friends 1-year-old daughter could've handled them. Note to the restaurant: If you're going to carry an "extremely hot" version, well, make it.

Located nearby from where I stay when I am away on business, its a good spot to just grab a brew and catch a game. I haven't tried the grub here but have stopped in for a drink or 2 or 3 on several occasions. Bartenders are cool and somewhat quick. Sitting outside you don't get much of a site but you will get plenty of characters for people watching. They have a good amount of beers on draft and bottle.

I hate to do it, but have to mark MDH down a bit after my last visit. Service was slow, and I mean very slow. I ordered a beer and it never came. Another waitress came by my table and I told her I never got my beer.

Finally first waitress came by and told me she was sorry, and my beer would be comped. She finally brought the beer. I ordered food which was as usual decent, but other sports bars in the area have better food (Carolina Ale House, Tobacco Road). You come here to watch sports and the beer specials, not for the food.

Got the check after waiting a while, beer wasn't comped as I was told it would be. I don't think this will prevent me from going back to MDH, but hopefully this was just an off night and service will be better next time.

Awesome beer selection and specials. Burger wasn't the best I've ever had but it was right up there.

Service was good, beverages were chilly. Was a good dinner while traveling in the Cary area. Enjoyed a half order of fried pickles.

The California was your standard bacon cheeseburger, with a glob of guac to give MacGregor license to don it "California." The bacon was carelessly placed, with the lettuce, tomato, and onion on the side. I had to rearrange the bacon, spread the guacamole, and construct the burger myself. I got the impression that the cook was just as bored making it as I was eating it. The burger's saving grace was the patty itself. Tender and juicy, cooked just shy of medium.

Good eats and drink selection. Friendly staff.  Recommend soups such as chicken and wild rice, chicken florentine, and tomato ravioli...hearty enough to be a meal on their own.

We stopped in on a whim bc we were pretty hungry and came across this place. Not much to say as far as the atmosphere goes, but the food was  good. We asked the waitress what her favorites were. I had the Italian Stallion sandwich which was great!!! My husband had the meatball sandwich and loved it. The local brewed beer was good too. Pretty Penny beer was great!!

Stopped by on a whim as I was traveling for business and staying at hotel nearby. New NC laws make it a non smoking place so that's great news.  Tons of beer. Friendly staff(Kelli was my exceptional server) Big screens everywhere. Fresh hand pattied- not frozen-  burgers(huge for me) I Had the El Paso, Cole slaw and cheese/ bacon fries. Bring Lipitor and Tums. ;)

I eat lunch here at least twice a month, sometimes once a week. It's a great place to go for lunch or for drinks after work. There are beer specials every day of the week. There are HDTVs everywhere.

My favorites are the buffalo chicken wrap (I've memorized how I order it: hot, blue cheese, with a side salad and honey mustard), the Texas Reuben, and the burgers (El Paso or California). I've had almost everything on the menu. You can't go wrong. It's just plain good comfort food.

There are about 6 other restaurants (including the Village Draft House in Cameron Village) that have the same menu. So, check out <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbeerandburgers.com&s=56ce2d1f6879272e662f50710ffbdd65b38e8f4e86641961f654d8d4c08d53be" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://beerandburgers.com</a> and <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmydrafthouse.com&s=58aec149854ce677ecfd0c6a631e5c0b0ea9d39d1ee37124c17768f140bc4e11" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://mydrafthouse.com</a> to find the one closest to you. I wouldn't drive out of your way to eat at MacGregor's. Just come here if you're in the area.

    3.5 Stars

I was visiting raleigh for a friends wedding, and we decided to stop by and eat here for dinner.  The place has a huge selection of beers, the food is your typical bar food, but i didn't have any complaints.  There's lots of tv to watch the games, and the staff was definitely friendly.

not a bad place if you're looking for something higher up than your typical applebees.

Great food. Huge beer selection. The bar has been divided into two sections. The one side is a louder more high energy area that's great for watching a game or just having some fun. The other side is a little bit quieter and is actually pretty family friendly. Both sides have plenty of big screen tvs and they always offer great service. This is one of the few good bars outside of the city.

A friendly establishment that caters to both families and sports enthusiasts.  I was a little confused how that could be pulled off, but the bar area is essentially in a completely different room than the main dining area where all the kids are wrangled.  The food was good for pub food, nothing amazing, but it was all fresh, with good portions.  The wait staff was very attentive, which was great since I needed a few refills of my vodka tonic after a long trip. A diamond in the rough compaired to the other places in the area.

The Draft House restaurants are one of my favorite local chains. They've got tons of different beers on taps, great food (the burgers are to die for!) and always provide a great place for either getting tanked with friends or enjoying a quite meal with the family.

I've never been to a Draft House I didn't like, and the MacGregor location is no exception. A great restaurant always has friendly bartenders/wait staff. Highly recommended, especially compared to some of the lack luster eateries in the Cary area.
