I recently went back to the Mad Batter their breakfast. My husband and I started with some Bloody Mary's and then I ordered the Chesapeake Bay Benedict and he ordered the Croustade. Both hit the spot, but every time some pancakes went by, I started to drool a little. I'm definitely going to have to try those next time!
Review Source:Came here for breakfast on a Monday and was so pleasantly surprised. The staff is friendly, the porch is a delightful setting, for food is delicious, and the value is solid.
We had a basic dish of scrambled eggs, home fries, and toast, plus the Chesapeake bay Benedict's, and a side of scrapple. The plain eggs were cooked nicely. The Benedict's, man were they good. Loads of crab, perfectly poached eggs, and a creamy sauce. Perfectly prepared dish.
The highlight of the meal for me was the scrapple. For those of you who don't know what scrapple is, it is basically all of the left over pork products that people don't actually eat, all ground together, formed into a loaf, sliced, and deep fried. The meat is crispy, and melt in your mouth delicious, and full of porky deliciousness.
Great breakfast spot in Cape May, just be sure to go early because there will be a line by 9:30.
This place has the potential to be something great. The service, atmosphere, live music, location, and menu options are all there. However, the food was something awful. I can't believe that a restaurant could feel comfortable  serving food of such terrible quality. The menu is so terribly misleading. The food is tasteless, and you could get stuck paying between 20-30 dollars for it if you choose one of the entrees. The quality is the issue. The idea and descriptions sound great. Its funny actually because being from New York, I am used to getting ripped off - but I usually feel somewhat satisfied. Here, I payed $22 for something worth less than $5. Avoid this place unless you would like to laugh at how bad the food is - which actually made our night more interesting.
