The food is ok. We always go for the burgers which are great because they use fantastic bread, anything else I have tried was ehh. But it's not the food I dislike as much as the SERVICE. It is awful. DO NOT go on your lunch break. There will be hardly anyone in there and you will be there over an hour. It takes 20 minutes for someone to take your order, another 20 for your food to arrive, and forget about the refills. It's always the same lunch staff and they always suck. They don't want to be there obviously, maybe it's not the high dollar shift, but don't take it out on your customers. I went to the bar to get refills after waiting forever only to be passed up by two different staff members, Â I almost just went to the well and refilled them myself but I knew my significant other would throw a fit. All and all, if you don't care about waiting 1 1/2 hours for a mediocre plate of food, by all means. Go.
Review Source:The food is here is very mediocre bar food. Â Nothing special whatsoever. Â The staff is really hit or miss, depending on who you're with. Â When I've gone with my wife, the service was terrible, it was like we didn't exist. Â When I've gone with some male friends, the service was outstanding... wonder why. Â Also, the owner was going around to various tables with all ladies loudly letting them know he was the owner, seemed kinda pathetic.
Review Source:The food is amazing and there is always great music at Madison's. The live bands are always a trip, including EFT on Tuesday's.
Their website could use some help. There's still code visible on the main page. The facebook page is great. Madison's/Goodfella's are always keeping us informed about what going on, weeks in advance.
Back to the food. The entrees and always put together and cared for no matter how busy the staff gets. The chicken is juicy, the greens are always moist and the atmostphere is unlike anywhere else in beaumont. The joint is clean and you can see that when you first walk in the door as you're greeted by the helpful Madisonians.
I'm ready to see what the new addition (the office) has to bring, because the patio is second to none. The summers are great out there. There's plenty of fan power during the summer shows and the bartenders back there, and in the front of house seem to know every guest names. They make you feel welcome even if you're just passing through. And if you are just passing through, be sure it's around Halloween because MOD throws the best bash every year.
This place isn't full of frat guys nor does it have a playplace for kids. Its a respectable buisness that serves those who are respectful to the business. It's the most fun beaumont has to offer.
I love the friendly atmosphere at Madison's. The waitstaff seems to enjoy what they do and the bartenders are as fast as they are beautiful. I love their burgers and their shrimp tacos are off the chain good. They also have the largest Jenga set I have ever seen. They sometimes even have the coolest photo booth thingy I have ever seen at a bar/restaurant. I'll upload a photo I got on New Years. Epic good times.
Review Source:Clean. Which is as it should be. Â The burgers are always good and near a gourmet perfection. Had the Monte Cristo the other day. Â I forgot how good it was. Â A greasy delight. Â They have a pretty good selection of beer and the live entertainment, minus the floppy tacos, are worth at least a look see. Â Whenever the band Butt Rocks comes to play it is a MUST SEE, however. Â Horrible name, I know, but they simply rock. Great 80's hair metal, ballads and rock memories are what they provide. Â The back patio is a good place to relax and unwind as long as the heat isn't oppressive. Â During the winter the propane heating units provide just enough heat to stay warm. Â All and all a good place to eat lunch or dinner. Â If you want a night out on the town with some friends Madison's won't disappoint. If you want a good and more of an upscale outing you should visit Madison's sister restaurant Goodfella's. Excellent!
Review Source:I came here on a Sunday just looking to have a drink, but it ended up staying all night.
A new thing they have on Sunday's is dueling pianos. It was great to hear all sort of songs in piano form, but I feel to get the most of dueling piano, you need to be rowdy and drunk. As a working man, I couldn't fully partake.
Nearly all of the tables were full so we moseyed up to the bar. I think sitting at the bar is better anyways because the bartender/ waiter is always near. After quickly being served out first Shiner Bocks we perused the menus.
An immediate recommendation from my friend were the bacon wrapped shrimp with jalapeno. The Delicious concoction takes delicious shrimp, removes the veins them, shoves some jalapenos inside then wraps it all up with bacon and covers it in cheese. for one, it could be a meal, for two it is a great and big appetizer.
Since I ate earlier in the day I planned on ordering something light and taking the rest home. I first attempted to one of the "new" fish dishes, but apparently the menus are "old" and they no longer serve fish dish A. I was equally delighted to order the second fish dish which was tilapia with harvest rice and two sides.
When the dish came out, i said to myself "wow, i am going to be taking a lot home." However, hat was not the case. Although the tilapia fillet was enormous it was perfectly cooked, tasted amazing and I ate it all!!!
For what initially seems to just be a bar, the food here is amazing!!! I will definitely come back for seconds.
Madison's is a great place for lunch during the week and for drinks on the weekends. Â They back patio is really nice and always packed on evenings when the weather is decent...typically 10 days out of the year in Beaumont. Â The beer selection is decent, the waiters and bartenders are always friendly and fast, and the live music line-up is awesome. Â Currently celebrating their 7th anniversary, this establishment will be around for a long time. Â Check out Madison's sister restaurant, Goodfella's for a nice meal, and sister bar, Dylan's in mid-county.
Review Source:Madisons Madisons.... what can i say... you've been good to me..... drinks are good people are friendly and the bartenders are nice... pool tables are alright for a 9 ball gentleman's game also they have TVs to watch games, ESPN, or maybe some TLC.... their back patio is awesome and floppy sloppy tacos is always playing which is great!!! those guys rock!!! i always get tacos after hearing them play for some odd reason
Review Source:I'm changing some old opinions about Madisons. I think I might really be starting to like it here. The waitstaff and bartenders have always been great, but the thing that always pissed me off was the cover. Well, guess what? There hasn't been a cover in forever, except on holiday theme nights, which is understandable. The management has catered personally to some of our drink tastes, specifically getting some strongbow cider at our request. The games out back on the patio are unmatched, including ping-pong, ring on a string, cornhole, etc. I now recommend this bar for a good time in Beaumont. Took a couple years and some magic to get me to this point, but lets all go to Madison's!
Review Source:This is hands down the best bar in Beaumont, Texas. My friends and I had the pleasure of witnessing one of the more amusing live bands I've ever seen called 'Floppy Taco'. Before you get excited know that they are beyond foul mouthed, and undoubtedly pride themselves in super offensive humor... which isn't for everyone... certainly WAS for me.
I believe I had beer making it's way through my nasal passage on more than one occasion that night and loved every minute of it.
The crowd was awesome as well, it was a great night of drinking Lone Star beer, meeting new people, playing bean bag toss and ping pong in the back, and laughing a hell of a lot at a great band.
Solid place to have a solid time.
On their door it said "Martini Night!" so I went, "Oooo, Beaumont has martinis."
And then the bartender goes, "What? Martinis? I wouldn't order one of those here."
Ok then. Whiskey it is.
If you like country music and not ridiculously expensive drinks, the place is alright. I've heard this is one of Beaumont's most happening spots and that the food is good, but I have yet to try it.
The food at Madison's is quite tasty and reasonably priced. The service is usually good. Cold beer & pool tables make a good place to hang out. My biggest beef with Madison's, is that I've driven across town twice to go eat there, and upon arriving, they wanted a cover charge because they had a band. If you're going to have a restaurant, have a restaurant. if you're going to have a club, have a club. I'm not paying $10 to come in and buy a seven dollar burger and leave in 45 minutes. They need to make some sort of accommodation for people who just want food.
Just a quick update after my last (and I do mean LAST) visit to Madison's. The seven dollar burgers are now nine dollars. The service was abysmal. Even after the whole staff watched me get up and refill my own beverage, nobody came by to see if I needed anything. The food was still tasty, but the frustration factor was off the chart. Downgrading from three stars to two, but service here gets zero stars.
**Based on a one time visit
The BEST burgers in town. All their burgers come on sour-dough bread and it's simply AMAZING.
They also have live entertainment sometimes, a balcony and a big screen TV in the restaurant.
Our waitress was a sweet-heart and made our visit worth driving across town!
