Jeff S. and I wandered in here after lunch, because... well... we needed more wine! Â And wine this place has! Â Lots of it. Â The owner took care of us, and was very friendly and extremely knowledgable. Â I can't quite remember the cost of the tastings (wine will do that to you...) but I remember it being very affordable, especially with the quality we were getting. Â He even threw in an extra tasting of Chardonnay, to try to convert us (which I didn't hate!). Â
Definitely a must-see for you wine-o's out there. Â Plenty of reasonably priced bottles, as well as the expensive "good stuff" (aka $60 Chateau nuf de Pape, that was AMAZING, btw). Â And for the record, they DO have a bathroom.
Great spot in Tiburon. Â We were wandering through the town after lunch and stopped in upon seeing a sign that read "wine tasting". Â That's how we roll. Â The owner, whose name I forget, was very energetic and welcoming and gave us some great wines to try. Â He even slid an extra one in upon hearing that neither of us liked chardonnay, and while I can't say that I'm now a convert, I definitely did like what he poured.
The shop is small but has a great selection, and our host was very knowledgeable and eager to share information. Â Lacey M. grabbed a bottle of Chateau nuf de Pape that he recommended, and when we cracked it open the next night we were not disappointed.
This was a fun hour we spent here, and I honestly didn't want to leave. Â Guess that means I'll have to come back!
Adorable, fantastic little wine bar off Ark row in Downtown Sausalito. Â Doc Champagne, the guy who runs the wine selection, does an incredible job finding gems and recommending to your palette. Â Awesome spot, don't miss when you are visiting for the day. Â As for the locals... see you back there soon! =)
Review Source:We were really excited to try Main Street Wine Bar out, and won't be going back.
Today's menu:
$8 per glass = happy hour
$1 for tap water
$18 for cheese plate featuring a single sample of goat cheese
-Lovely space, but no bathroom or view.
-Wine menu was very limited (1 sparkling, 3 white, 3 red, 1 rose) no prices listed on the menu for wines, so you'll have to do a bit of hunting.
-Bottles on the wall, available at cost + $10 corkage fee, looked interesting, but the two employees working were fixated on their computer and didn't seem to have availability to walk through the list, which also wasn't printed.
-Website says that parking is validated, but on site it was not.
Hoping things improve for these guys!
