Mandarin House Chinese Restaurant

Service was good, and staff was nice.  Buffet did not look very fresh, and had some times written in grease pencil on the glass above some of the dishes.  If the time was truly when the food was put out on the buffet, that is disgusting because some were many hours prior to our arrival.  I will give them the benefit of the doubt, and pretend like I didnt see them.  Luckily, my wife has finally taught me to never eat the buffet when dining at a chinese restaurant.  It had a wide selection, so I had to fight the urge, but was glad I opted for the menu.  Egg rolls from the menu were higher quality than what was on the buffet.  Hot and Sour soup was passible.   Fried dumplings were a hit. I had the sesame chicken for my entree and had them make it extra spicy.  Pretty good, but the chicken pieces were pretty small.  Not the best Chinese I have had by any means, but one of the best I have had in the Bay City area.  I will go back for lack of a better choice.

Before the move this was the best place for Chinese in Bay City, since the move and addition of the buffet a lot of their food tastes the same. Good service, and if you are into chinese buffets this is a good choice.

Service:  Is alright, seems to be a little betfer if you order off the menu

As this use to be (probally still is) the best place for Chinese in Bay City, I would have to say that since their move and addition of a buffet they lost a step.  That is why they are not above average.

To be honest we have not been to any other Chinese place in Bay City in years.  That is why it holds a solid 3.

I think the buffet has brought their standards down, and almost makes me a little sad.  As for the buffet it is clean and fresh just bland and a bit repetitive.  Everything is brown in brown sauce and taste the same.  The menu items seem to be the best place place to get any quality and variety.
