This past weekend was my first time visiting this restaurant and I was surprised that a party of seven was able to be seated right away on a Friday night (we checked other places beforehand and most had a 30 minute wait). The dining room and bar were pretty full and we ended up sitting right next to the giant blender, which was interesting.
Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful, she was probably the best part of the experience overall. She had some great suggestions about drinks and the food. I can't speak to the drinks, since I did not partake, however the three people who did order margaritas & boat drinks were pleased with what they had.
I ordered the chicken quesadilla which was not great, however I was not expecting too much. The taste wasn't bad, but the chicken was very dry, so I really had to pile on the guacamole & salsa.
The live music was good, but extremely loud. Granted, it was 10pm on a Friday night and people wanted to dance/party, but it was so loud once the music started the conversation at our table stopped because we could no longer hear one another.
Overall, our waitress was wonderful, and I would recommend trying it out if you have never been there, especially if you enjoy casual dining in a fun/relaxed setting. I might go back again just to try the drinks.
Came here on a Monday night with a friend because we were having a margarita craving. The place was understandably empty, since it was a Monday night after all. The venue itself is huge, and the front area displays a HUGE margarita blender that actually whirls and "fills up" occasionally. TV's were located throughout featuring Jimmy Buffett concerts. The atmosphere is super fun. They also have a nice river view section upstairs, which I'd assume is a bit more intimate. The view up there is pretty nice.
We sat over at the bar and proceeded to order our drinks. I ordered the Perfect Margarita, which was delicious. It was a good strength and got me feeling buzzed pretty quickly. We also ordered the seafood mac and cheese, which was creamy and yummy. They were very generous with the seafood, which was nice. We ordered a few more drinks, but I can't remember which ones. I remember the 5 O'Clock Somewhere was pretty yummy too. The bartender was friendly and very helpful, because I'm a very indecisive person. Everything came out pretty fast, which made me happy.
Overall, I had a fun experience here. It's a good place to come and unwind and have a few margaritas. The drinks are well-made and delicious.
It's a very gimmicky place, but that's what I loved about it. If you're looking for somewhere more upscale/fancy, I'd suggest going elsewhere. If you're looking for nice, easy fun, this is the place for you.
I went to Mohegan Sun this past Wednesday with my boyfriend for the day and I decided we should eat at Margaritaville because he had never been before. I had only eaten here once before with my parents a few years ago and didn't remember having a good or bad experience.
We were seated immediately and was fairly empty for lunch time. Our server was very nice and helpful and both of our margaritas were delicious. For our meals, I got the chicken fajitas and my boyfriend had one of the burgers. I didn't realize that the fajitas came with peppers and onions, unless I misread the menu and missed that part. While the chicken was alright, I hate to say I was actually disgusted with the rest of the dish. The lettuce in the bowl was brown, shriveled and it stuck together like it had been frozen. The guacamole scoop also looked like it had been sitting for a while, aka like it hadn't just been scooped. My boyfriend said he really liked his burger, but within five minutes, his fries were cold and weren't very warm to start with.
Not much to say about the decor, as it is trying to set a scene. But the music was way too loud for noon-time lunch and it was really dark in there. There was no lighting anywhere except for the light that comes out of the windows upstairs.
For a place that's supposed to be fun and upbeat, it was strangely somber and the food lacking.
A group of 4 of us went here for drinks last night. Leslie K was GREAT and made us the awesome lemonade shots that are no longer on the menu. Don't know why they were pulled as they were the best shots they served. There was also a male bartender working who was on top of everything. Any time one of us got almost done with a drink, he came right over to see if we needed anything. Very nice to have service like that, esp when the place is as packed as it was last night (friday night). We had 4 rounds of drinks and were thoroughly enjoying ourselves, even without buffet music, when the unthinkable happened. A VERY VERY bad band started to play. They were butchering everything they played, they kept getting feedback from the mic, it was just all around bad. They were also so loud that we couldn't talk to each other, even leaning in to be a foot apart and screaming. We had to get the check and leave. That sucked because we were having a great time talking and drinking. Stop with bad radio music and bad live music and just go back to playing buffet all the time. Half of the people sitting down and eating did not look pleased when the band started playing the crappy loud music. A handful of tables left abruptly when we did.
Review Source:Visiting Margaritaville really should depend on what you're looking for. If you're looking for good food, this isn't the place for you. Not that the food isn't good. It just isn't *good*. It ranks slightly better than your local Applebee's, probably. The food and margaritas are decent, but the atmosphere is kind of neat, particularly for the options at Mohegan. Our server, Steph, was cute and bubbly and efficient. Having been there thrice, I can say that each time, the best part is the staff. They staff well, and that makes it a fairly decent option considering the alternatives. If it was someplace other than at Mohegan, however, it would probably be closer to 2-2.5 stars.
Review Source:I'm a bit ashamed to say I went to Margaritaville in the first place, but it was the suggested place to meet an old family friend and I didn't want to put up a fight about it, so I just went with the flow. We were both travelling a distance to meet each other and Mohegan was pretty much in the middle, however; I could've picked a hundred other places to eat rather than this dump.
Let me start off by saying that I loathe Jimmy Buffett. Â He should've stuck to his one hit wonder and stayed the hell out of the restaurant industry.
The only good part of this dining experience was our server; she was really cute, patient and friendly. Â
The food was overpriced and mediocre at best. Â We ordered the Spinach & Artichoke dip for an appetizer - it was... meh; flavorless and awkward tasting. Â I ordered the Black & Bleu burger which came out a little too fast for my liking and was totally drenched in blue cheese dressing that it became almost inedible. Â To boot, I had to take off the entire head of lettuce they put on the thing just so I could fit it in my mouth. Â I cut the burger in half and didn't even finish the first half. Â The fries that came as a side were hard, dry and bland... even with salt and ketchup. Â How do you mess up fries? Â
The music playing in the background was WAY too loud for 2 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon; there were times I struggled to hear what my friend was saying who was only sitting two feet away from me.
Never. Ever. Ever. Again. Ever.
Waitress Victoria H was great. Â I don't think I will be going back to a Margaritaville however. Â This is the second one I've been to and I find the menu boring and over priced. Â My wife and I each got a burger and a drink and split an app and the bill with tip was $75. Â We could have just gone to Michael Jordan's steak house and had a very good dinner for just a little more.
Review Source:This was actually my first time visiting a Margaritaville. Â Think of Friday's or Applebee's but with a tropical beachy feel.
We came for drinks and the cover band. I'm a fan of frozen drinks like margaritas and piña coladas even in the middle of winter so I was in heaven. I tried out the Sweet Tea Rita which was a margarita topped with sweet tea vodka and it was just okay but the actual margaritas were worth the money.  The cover band was actually pretty good too.
Overall, it's limited nightlife in Mohegan Sun so this place might be your best option.
I ate at Margaritaville at Mohegan Sun this past Friday night with my cousin and my sister. They had never been to a Margaritaville before, and this one has a lot of fun decor items that they were excited to experience. We arrived at about 5:10pm, VERY early and the restaurant was not crowded at all (we had a concert at 7:30pm so we wanted to have plenty of time to eat beforehand). Our waiter took us upstairs to a room that I instantly called "the kids room." It had no decor elements at all besides the large TV screens on the walls. We could see a peek of the main dining room through a window, where the light changed and effects went off... but we never actually saw any of it. I was pretty disappointed, especially considering that the main dining room was so empty.
Our waiter, Weston, was great, very friendly and helpful throughout. We started off with spinach & artichoke dip, which was fantastic. I had a "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and substituted fries for onion rings, but I wish I had kept the fries. The onion rings were heavily over-breaded and greasy, which isn't the way I personally like them. The margaritas were delicious, but heavily overpriced, especially considering that we were in a casino where I could get a free one just outside the door.
It took us forever to get out of there. Once we said we weren't getting dessert, our waiter took another 20 minutes or so to bring the check, even though I asked for it. It was definitely more crowded at that point, so I understand to a certain extent, but our table was right across from the computer kiosk, so I don't really know why it took THAT long.
Overall, it was a fine experience for dinner. I would have rated it higher had we gotten to experience the main dining room with all the effects, and wouldn't have felt bad about paying a premium price for drinks if it came with that type of environment/entertainment.
This one earns its "Meh" for sure. Mohegan has the income to revamp some of its older restaurants, and this is one that needs to meet Mister Bulldozer for sure.
I've been here twice, once for food and once for drinks, and the result is not much better than Applebee's. Corporate-inspired food, expensive drinks, and average-at-best margaritas pulled from a Slurpee machine. I can't say I'm impressed.
Furthermore, the one thing actually worth seeing at Margaritaville wasn't working last night! I speak of course of the giant blender that fills up with theatrical margarita mix, and spins around in a cyclone of alcoholic fury. Disappointment all around.
At least the bartender there was really nice. She got to me much quicker than I thought given the Saturday night crowd. Of course, that was all erased when I tried to leave the bar with a PLASTIC cup of beer...
Bouncer - "You can't take that out."
Me - "Uh, it's in a PLASTIC cup. There's tens of thousands of them littering the casino as we speak. You can't be serious,"
Bouncer - "I'm totally serious."
Well I'm totally serious about never going back. I'd honestly rather have my Cheeseburger in Paradise at McDonald's.
I'm surprised Mohegan Sun allows a restaurant like this. My advice is unless you want to say "I ate in Jimmy Buffets Margaretville" go somewhere else. Â My wife had the Shrimp Crab and Lobster Salad that came with only the shrimp. After apologies and a story about how the salads are mixed, she was given a side bowl of crab that tasted like it just came out of a can. I had a burger, did not care for it at all, that's the best I can say.
Review Source:Me and my wife have been wanting too visit here for a while , DON,T the food was awful , the portions are very small , they dont ask you if you want any water , no sides come with the meal everything is extra and the prices are Way too  high for what you get , the drinks are very small and very expensive . We had two drinks , appetizer and one dinner , bill was $75.00 . NOT WORTH IT SAVE YOUR MONEY AND EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE . I guess that's why Jimmy has the money .
Review Source:This place has worse and worse service every time. Â This is the last time we'll 'try' to eat there. Â Went stopped in at about 1030pm on a Saturday night...must certainly the busiest night of the week at the casino. Â We were told, "to sit anywhere." Â So the only tables available were in the balcony area. Â We grabbed a table, then were rudely and immediately told that they weren't serving drinks or food up there! Â Would have been nice to know when we were told to "sit anywhere." Â The owners and management should really train their rude employees better. Won't be back.
Review Source:Sat evening with a group of 9 for a 21st b-day bash @ Mohegan. Â Wait time for a table 30 minutes, not bad for a Sat night. Â Nachos & margaritas were great. Â A little fun with balloons for the b-day boy provided by a clown on stilts (this was fin) and a nice brownie sundae topped with a candle and the wait staff joining in on singing "happy birthday". Â Long wait for the main entree (almost an hour), the boneless chicken bites (buffalo sauce) which were tough and the jerk salmon (overpriced @ $23 and not jerky tasting) which was more sweet than spicy. Â Overall not a bad take but next time I'll stick to the burgers and nachos.
Review Source:Can you believe that this place gets consistently worse? Problems in the front AND back of the house make this such a horrible place I decided I had to eat elsewhere before I came here for a friend's birthday celebration.
The waitstaff: obviously overworked but not very talented at handling medium-to-large size parties.
The drinks: horrendously overpriced and watered down. Â The $10 house margarita ($10!!!!!????) had the equivalent of 1/2 shot of tequila in it.
The food: Utterly disgusting. Â Meat and fish dishes are made of low quality food, likely purchased in mass quantities frozen. Â Nearly everything on the menu is fried and (likely frozen). Â The garlic hummus was hands-down the worst I've had in my entire life.
WE WERE SOOO SICK THE NEXT DAY. My steak salad was disgusting, I couldn't even chew the meat it was so tough and hard and just didnt even taste right. And the dressing was just mayo I feel like. I hated it. My boyfriends fries were really good but who can erally screw up fries.
Nice waiter, fun-looking atmosphere. Not good for dinner tho. Or any meal actually. There were so many just fat weird people dancing around our table and hovering over our chairs and taking pictures and falling on us. Soooo incredibly loud too, our waiter yelled in all of our ears seperately, and when we ordered food, we had to point to the menu instead of talking. UGH I just can't get over how sick we got from the food. ew.
Came to Margaritaville as a wedding post-party location and was only expecting that the place be aptly-named with decent margaritas. I also happen to love summer themed songs any time of the year, so I was in the mood to listen to some Jimmy Buffett. After ordering 2 classics, my boyfriend and I decided they were most definitely, hands down the worst ones we had ever collectively had, and believe me we love our margs! Thankfully we only wasted $20 on the drinks - could have been worse considering we left 3/4 of them on the bar and scooted out ASAP.
2 stars only for the location as it is a large space suited for groups.
Decent for being in a casino. Good place to take the kids- they had a guy walking around on stilts making balloon stuff. My younger sister (23) wanted a balloon hat. He said he would be right back but was focusing more on the kids. Just be honest- if you are there for the kids you are there for the kids. Don't lie to us. Food was decent. Not great not horrible. Came out fairly fast. I got the seafood mac and cheese. Margarita was great- strong and worth the money. If I ever go back to mohegan sun would try other places first befor going back here because that is jus the way I roll. Def good for people at a casino with kids (which I don't)
Review Source:After a 30 minute wait for a table of 7, we were ushered into one of the "boats" - yes it looked like a boat - to await dinner and drinks. Prior to being seated, we saw another party getting crazy balloon hats made for them, getting lots of attention and having fun. Given it was my bachelorette weekend, which was made clear to the restaurant, I expected that some fun would be had for our group as well.
I don't know if we got a boring waitress, or if the fun was over at the restaurant, or if they are just so jaded because there were like 37 other bachelorette parties there that night (and they were far more rowdy than me and my classy clan)...but it didn't feel like anything outside the normal experience you would expect from Margaritaville.
Our waitress brought us some drinks, we ordered chili nachos (which were really, really good, most likely because they use the really creamy Velveeta kind...sometimes a girl just needs some pseudo cheese), and then she came back for dinner orders. There wasn't any special attention paid, no penis shaped cake was brought out (not that I wanted one, but I had actually expected that the restaurant would do something to that effect as most do)...I don't know...the treatment our party received was just...ok. Just fine. Just...boring.
My cheeseburger was so-so - Â I managed to get about a quarter of it done before giving up and eating french fries (thankfully my fake cheese Nachos filled me up).
Highlight of the evening: a really amazing band that was covering gems from the 90's (think Semisonic, Match20 and the like). The restaurant very quickly turned into a dance party down in front.
Went with family. Â It definitely made you fell like you were on vacation. Â We liked most of the food: nachos, lobster roll, chicken fajitas, teriyaki chicken. Â They had a couple ballon guys salting around on stilts and a cool animated margarita prop show that stirred up a hundred gallons (complete guess) of the stuff in a 10 foot blender.
Downside: way too noisy!
Sometimes you just need a completely cheesy night out!
So Margaritaville is basically a tropical themed  "Fridays" not bad, just not special.  But its fun, the drinks are good the food is okay.
Surprisingly the night we went there was only a 10 minute wait, which is unheard of at most places in Mohegan so that was great! We sat outside over looking the river, I had no idea that area even existed! So if you want to get away from the "tropical storm" and just enjoy some nice scenery and strong drinks I recommend asking the hostess to sit upstairs! Â
I had the teriyaki steak which I asked for medium and it was well done- boo The hubs ordered the seafood mac and cheese which was amazing!
I've been to a couple of Margaritavilles before including the original in Key West  and the one in the Mohegan Sun perfectly captures the fun vibe of a Jimmy Buffett concert.  We did not eat, just had drinks at the bar.  I had a Bama Breeze which was absolutely fantastic.  I also had a Lone Palm beer which was just ok.
Review Source:2 hour wait? You have GOT to be kidding me. That alone turned me off. But my friend really really wanted to celebrate here so we waited....
We went to the bar to get drinks and they also do a full menu so a bunch of us ordered nachos just as a snack. First, we were like 15 bucks for nachos? That is out of control. I know, we're in a touristy area, etc but really who would pay that much. But okay, 4 girls who were all starving could NOT finish these nachos. So I guess it wasn't too bad split amongst 4 girls.
But okay, when we finally got our table.. the menu was pretty lackluster. Ridiculous prices for food overall. I just got chicken tenders in a sauce.. (4-5 average size pieces) and limp celery cost me $11 bucks. Really? Just not worth it.
Oh, and when I used the bathroom, EMTS were coming in because of a drunk girl who passed out on the toilet. Really classy.
Decor is great, wait staff is a hit or miss, food is very expensive for the small amount you get, margaritas are great and you can pay extra to get a souvenir glass. Biggest down fall is that it is so loud and you can't even hear the people at your own table. Every time me and my friends go its filled with drunk mid twenties people screaming and cheering for no apparent reason and the wait staff will not even ask them to lower thier tone. For me this is the main reason why I will not be going back.
Review Source:This was our first time visiting Margaritaville. IT WAS AWESOME!
We were immediately seated (around 5:30pm), and our waitress was great! She was very attentive and was able to steer us in the right direction as to which food & drinks were good.
We happened to catch the "show"..which consisted of a BIG bottle of Tequila pouring out of the ceiling into a OVERSIZED blender! Definitely something to check out if you're there at the right time.
There were also people on stilts who walked around the restaurant making balloon creations which was very entertaining.
The food was AWESOME! We ordered nachos for an appetizer and boy were we surprised at the size!! It was a HUGE HEAP of nachos; but very delicious! Our main dishes were also very tasty and not as big as the nachos, which was perfect.
The margaritas were also very yummy! : )
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to all.
We went here for a late night snack. The interior has alot going on. It looks really disorganized. We ordered a bahama mama and jerk chicken with rice and vegetables. The drink is watered down. Barely taste any alcohol.
The jerk chicken really reminded me of the tasteless chicken breasts from school cafeterias. The dish came with sauce on the side. The sauce was horrible. The rice and vegetables were good, but not enough to save the dish. Service was good. Will not return.
Drinks and our Nachos were great! The crab cakes were some of the best I've had. Â My friends were not so lucky with their meals. The chicken fajitas were bland, and the calamari came overcooked to rubber bands the first time and weren't any better when we sent them back and got the second serving. They also took forever to re-fire the calamari.
Our server was very friendly and took the calamari off the bill without questions.
The Decor of this restaurant is awesome. Its kind of hidden in the back of one of the side Casinos. It is a great place to stop and have a drink. Meet up with some friends.
When I go to Mohegan Sun, I always eat at Michael Jordan's Steak House. This will also soon be on my regular list. A sure place for a burger and some drinks with some friends.
Take time to look at the decor Its not very large, but it is very well done. I really admire how fun they made it. It has plenty of large tables if your part of a group. It also has an awesome bar. As I said before its a bit hidden off one of the side Casinos
There is a small store attached. With plenty of T-shirts you will want to take home.
Oh, the humanity! The massive sea of douchebaggy humanity!
After a great show by Aaron Lewis we ventured over to Margaritaville to try and get some grub. Well we get to the front of the restaurant and much to my dismay there's a "band" on stage playing at a decibel level nowhere near acceptable to the human ear. We're told it's open seating and we should fend for ourselves so we made our way upstairs to an open table.
Now there's 4 of us at a standard table, but we couldnt have anything close to a normal conversation due to the noise. We order drinks...I get a beer to avoid the $9 margarita...and they come out somewhat quick. We order an appetizer: boneless buffalo wings...pretty standard, right? These things come out and there's 5 shockingly small, cold pieces of meat. We all ordered sandwiches and my Cuban was actually pretty good and no one else had an issue.
Let me cover the "band"...this was a collection of 5 folks who I'm sure are fine people, but music should be their 3rd or 4th job. The poor guitarist didnt play a solo the whole night and the rock portion of the show was a mish mash medley of tunes that would better serve this young man and his aversion to the guitar solo. He was royalty compared to the drummer. This guy had high hats and a China crash & he LOVES his crash. The downside is that it has to be cracked because the sound this thing made would make dogs wail. Oh and he wasnt very good. If Margaritaville wants to create a fun atmosphere they should spend another $100 on decent entertainment.
To summarize, I didn't like it and I wont be back.
Let me tell you, if I ever go to a Margaritaville again I am getting that mountain of nachos I saw people ordering. Â We went just for drinks but stayed for a bit because the cover band was so good! People were dancing in front of the stage and it was really fun. Â I had a vodka and soda which was good but the bride to be got a Sex on the Beach which to me was way too sweet. Â Although I guess those drinks always are. Â We sat at one of the tables that is meant to look like the front of the boat and I appreciated that gimmick. Â But can someone explain to me the huge tornado type thing hanging from the ceiling? What is that?
Review Source:Maybe the others in the chain are worth going to, but even the spectacular view on the second floor couldn't save this disaster.
Our party of four was told it would be a thirty-five minute wait for a seat with a view. We didn't think that would be a problem. Â When our pager went off, there was a madhouse around the hostess station. Seems everyone's pager went off at the same time. We asked how long it would be, and were told five minutes, but one of the women said, "I didn't know you were waiting for upstairs." Â
Five minutes later, the pagers went off again. After some fussing at the manager, we were finally taken upstairs to a very pretty view. And ignored. There was one server handling the upstairs, which had four or five tables with people at them.
The server did the best she could, she took our drink order and our dinner order at the same time. The manager even came back to check on us, and volunteered to comp us the appetizer.
I enjoyed my fish tacos, though the fish was a little heavy on the char. The black beans were nicely spiced and the rice was pretty decent. The guys both got Cheeseburgers in Paradise, and the buns were soggy, which says to me they waited a while the rest of our meal was being prepared. My cousin enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich, but was sick from it later in the evening.
Besides the food poisoning, the entertainment was the pits. Very loud live concerts on a loop, and then a huge belch. Classless.
I love Jimmy Buffet and I like the concept of the bar/restaurant, but this one was so poorly managed, I'll never go near there again.
I went here a few weeks after it opened. The music was loud, which is to be expected it's a bar with restaurant; not vice versa. I had to request a table change though because the say my wife, my two year old and I under a speaker. No big deal, we were moved.
We ordered appetizers, drinks and food. After 30 minutes and seeing our water walk by us about 10 times, i stopped him once he said the appetizer would be ready soon, I stopped him again. I said cancel the appetizer our meal will be here soon. "oh, no it won't they don't start your meal until the appetizers are out". I was furious. People who arrived after me had meal already, but my nachos and cheese weren't ready??? The manager came out, apologize and said the kitchen is really busy and lost my order. My reply was that's fine but the waiter saw us and blew us off, he should have looked into it 25 minutes ago. Also, they somehow knew my whole order, down to specifics; even though the ticket was lost.
Too boot, the food was mediocre. Not bad mind you, just not flavorful. Johny Rockets would have been a better dinner. Have not a will not go back.
Try one of the 3 Jordan Restaurants for a much better dinner.
Service : 0 stars
Food : 1 stars
Atmosphere: 0 stars
Paradise? No, sorry. Â This doesn't cut it. Â Service was fine and they try to spruce up the decor with a huge "tornado" that dumps "tequilla" into an oversize glass. Â
But that can't match the fact that food is overpriced and just not that good. The wings were fine, but the burger was what you'd expect at Rainforest Cafe (trust me, not a good comparison) and the pulled pork sandwich was the type that would sit with you for another few hours (also not good).
There are better choices at the Sun (Sol Toro, for example).
We decided to eat here because the wait at Sol Toro was over and hour. The four of us ordered the nachos for appetizer and then 2 of us got wings for entree and 2 of us got the quesadillas for entrees. Lets just say we should have stopped at the Nachos. They were ok your run of the mill chain restaurant nachos. The wings were ok also a bit tough and the quesadillas just ok.
We also got a round of margaritas. Â I enjoyed when the "hurricane" blew in and the place got a little wild. Nothing really special about this place probably will avoid it next time.
My partner and I had a fun time at this place last Sunday!
We walked in with the very friendly and welcoming hostess and, I'll admit, I was kinda thinking "aaaaahhhh ... get me outta here!!! ...." Â Â Â BUT... in spite of the LOUD Jimmy Buffett (gag me with a spooooon) music on huge screens above the dining room and the really cheezy boat-y/Key West theme (blue/turquiose painted floors and walls and ... everything..), fake palm trees, fake ... everything, really, we actually ended up having a very enjoyaable meal.
The 'stilt-girl' came by and scared hell out of us at first. Â We realized that she was there in a friendly way and not to attack us. Â OK, cool. Â She made me a shark fin hat out of balloons (looked like a penis) and my partner a baseball hat made for him. Â Â Then we ordered.
We got a wild-huge plate of nachoes. Â I mean wild. Â It was shaped like a drag queen's wig. Â Loaded with chips, cheese, chopped tomatoes, chilis, sour cream, melted cheese and salsa. Â Â A HUGE winner thhat could easily have been a meal, not an appetizer. Â We even took half of it back to our room in the Mohegan Sun hotel for a late snack afterward. Â
For main courses, I had the Jerk Salmon; served with a nice pilaf-rice side, steamed fresh broc, carrots and a nice mango salsa. Â Great-sized portion, around $21. Â Very moist and tasty. Â I cleaned the plate.
Partner had the steak and shrimp-kabob entree. Â Perfectly cooked, large NY strip. Â He got a nice baked potato and steamed vegs too; around $24
. Â He was a happy boy too.
Â
We were too full for dessert, so I can't really comment there.
Pricey and loud, but darn good food and extremely friendly and motivated staff. Â We'd go back for sure. Â Great option for something different at the Mohegan Sun!
I have been to a Margaritaville in Jamaica and experienced an R rated dinner, while Mohegan offers a G rated dining experience for the whole family.
I did enjoy the people on stilts, the huge blender filling up, and decor. Way over the top.
The menu is what it is, but I noticed despite serving numerous burgers they all are essentially the same but with a different cheese. I opted for the Mexicali with a turkey burger, no fries but vegetables on the side. I was served a delicious turkey burger with fries and no vegetables.
My friends' food; too much cheese in the Caesar salad but delicious chicken, the Cuban sandwich fell flat, and the crab cake sandwich was tasty.
I am sure this is one of the few places that serves conch fritters, and nearly a million different variations of ranch dressing. With so many variations of the margarita I wished they offered a sugar free margarita, or diet mix.
Ok I am updating this to a 4 star review because their food has gotten so much better, but still really expensive for what you get.
Had a hawaiin chicken sandwich- was so good and tasty. Â I couldn't finish it because there was so much! Â My fiance got a club sandwich he enjoyed and my brother got coconut shrimp. Â I tried the shrimp- excellent. Â Their food quality has risen by a lot since the first time I went when it first opened. Â If I were to base it on food and service I'd give it 5 stars, however it is ridiculously expensive. Â For lunch we spend $55 on 3 people.... Â and 2 of us only got sandwiches....
I have been to one of these before and this one is okay. This one is located in the new section Casino of the Wind. The drink concoctions are pretty good and the decor is pretty cool as well. I could do without the guy on stilts making balloon animals and the party alerts going off every hour but it was okay since it supposed to relate to a party scene. The place is pretty big inside but expect to wait in line for a while since this is a new place. The food is like the others, just okay, not great, a selection of average entrees and bar food. Not anything to write home about. The service is attentive and friendly and that made a big difference. Try it out!
Review Source:Although nothing can compare to a Margaritaville actually on the beach [Negril, Montego Bay, etc], this place tries its best.
For the most part, Margaritaville is about the atmosphere and not their food--although you'd expect Buffet's famous "Cheeseburger in Paradise" to be outstanding--all the food was just okay.
I ordered the formidable cheeseburger and it wasn't anything special but it did the job.
My boyfriend had the fish tacos and he thought they were so-so [the key ingredient: cilantro was missing from the dish].
We also had the spicy chicken wings with cucumber spears, which were pretty good but they were over-the-top messy.
For margaritas, I recommend the Perfect Margarita--it was strong and well, perfect.
Like I said the best part of any Margaritaville is the atmosphere: the "weather station" telling you to get wasted, the entire restaurant singing "Margaritville" in unison, the host dancing on stilts, the balloon hats.
The night I was there, Thursday, the place was about 75% full--so I can imagine that the weekends get pretty crazy.
They don't offer reservations but they do have call-ahead seating, so make sure you ring them up before you stop in.
