First let me strart this by saying this is no longer The Marlboro Renaissance Diner. It is now called The Silver Star. Â OK, we were close by and hungry so being the only spot nearby, we gave it a shot. It has been over 15 years since I've ventured into this diner and for the life of me, I don't remember if I liked it or hated it. Â Either way, a yellow flag went up when we were seated and I noticed the placemats still bearing the old name. To me, this is an indicator that the diner wasn't doing very well nd the owners decided to change the name to fool everyone into thinking it's going to be something different.
Now anyone that knows me, or has read my reviews, knows that in a diner, I rarely ever venture out of breakfast or burger mode. There really is no reason to unless I want to be disappointed. I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs over easy. Lo and behold, it wasn't too bad!!  The eggs were cooked the way I asked and the hash was pretty good and crispy, just the way i like it. Homefries were loaded with onions and peppers. My only knock on them is that the potatos are sliced so thin, you can't stick your fork in them to eat them. You have to shovel them onto your fork.  Prices were a little better than other diners in this area. I can't speak for everything about this place, but it wasn't a bad stop for breakfast. If the burgers are good, I will bump up my rating.
