definitely a bar to avoid.  the owner is hard of hearing and older than Moses.  good place to hang out if you're into creepy old dried up grandpas.

they have a back patio during summer months but it's next to the sewage and dumpster in the back alley.  it does not smell pleasant at all but if you drink enough beer the smell of the garbage and sewage will eventually go away.

the patio sits next to a patch of grass that's immediately outside the pedmall, it's pretty much the only outlet around for dogs in the area.  doesn't look like the poop gets picked up by the college students much.

9 out of 10 times i've been here the toilet is overflowing and flooding the bathroom. it's pretty nasty.

there are lots of bars that have cleaner bathrooms without overflowing feces on the floor and a patio that's not located close to sewage and a garbage dumpster.  but if you're into that sort of thing, martinis might do it for you.

share lounge next door in the sheraton hotel has a nice clean bathroom and the outside patio faces the center of the pedmall, great for people watching.  if you're looking for a good bar to visit with an outside seating i'd highly recommend share instead.  share is part of sheraton/starwood and they follow certain standards that places like martinis just won't understand (i blame the owner)

brothers directly across is another good bar with patio seating that looks at the pedmall.  brothers, like share lounge, is also a corporate owned bar that adheres to higher standards than martinis.  you can't go wrong with either share lounge or brothers, but definitely avoid Martinis.

Absolutely appalling service. Some friends and I headed to Martinis to meet up with a birthday party. When we went through the line, we were told there was a $5 cover. We hopped out of line to tell some friends in line at a food cart what was up. When we came back to the door, the bouncers looked at us and said the cover was now $10.

Um...what? A ten-dollar cover when there was no live music or other entertainment and it didn't include any sort of drink special? Also, what changed in the five minutes or less we were away that required doubling the cover charge?

My friend asked why the cover went from $5 to $10, and the bouncer essentially said, "It doesn't matter, if you don't want to pay go elsewhere." And by said, I mean yelled it in my friend's face. He was insanely aggressive and rude, yelling and towering over my friend  - who is about 5'2" and 100 lbs - and practically shoving her out the door.

The general vibe of downtown was that because it's a game day, it's okay to price gouge and otherwise treat your customers like dirt. If you want to be opportunistic and charge a nominal cover fee on game days, fine - but post it and stick to it. Charging different covers based on who walks up to the door is unethical at the least and wouldn't surprise me if it's actually illegal. On top of that, screaming at the people trying to come into your establishment and physically intimidating them is just disgraceful.

Needless to say, we took our money elsewhere and won't be back again.
