After reading the other reviews here, I can understand what they are referring to regarding the service but the food is very good. Â
I've been to MJ's a couple of times and sometimes I'm greeted and other times I'm not. Â The employees don't explain the ordering process which doesn't help. Â I believe if they explained or appeared to be a tad bit more approachable, this would alleviate the pain of ordering for first timers.
Anyway...on to the food. Â The burger I ordered was one of the best I've had. Â I had no interest in trying a burrito or burrito bowl because I have Chipotle for that. Â After selecting which type of burger you want (they have a couple different options) you tell the next person what you want on it (I got grilled onions, jack cheese, and mixed greens - no mustard or ketchup (katsup for you prissy folks) or anything else). Â Also, I got fries (those of you who know me are already aware of my fry addiction).
After sitting down a few moments later they called our name and the feast began. Â I took one bite of the burger and loved the juiciness. Â The mixed greens and onions gave it a sweet taste. Â The fries had a great texture and the flavor of the seasonings was so good. Â
This last time I went I tried the turkey burger. Â Now you should know I am a TB snob. Â It has to be seasoned just right for me to even continue with a second bite. Â This one was very good.
I have been to this place several times and have grown to enjoy it once I figured out the right food to order. It is an a unusual combination of a Chipotle with Indian type seasonings...after first ordering a burrito, which in my opinion is a strange combination with the Basmati rice and Indian sauces, I've subsequently stuck with the rice bowls, with the seasoned, grilled chicken and vegetables, cilantro and spicy killa sauce..delicious! And it is a refreshing change to get veggies and rice with an indian influence..I crave this place now and have to have it once a week. Take my advice and skip all the weird options and  go with the rice bowl for carry out, it's actually quite a nice healthy change!..
Review Source:I had seen the advertisements all over the expressay and had been curious about the food here. I had gone on their website a few times to check it out and dragged a friend with me to check it out. The moment we walked in we knew we wanted burritos. We were unsure of what the point was, bacon in burritos and fries on the side. The feel of the restraunt was very unsettling. We waited for a long time for two burritos. I didn't mind mine but my friend said the meat tasted old.
A major issue for me is the staff. The only thing they had was a warm welcome. There were no suggestions or showing us how to go about when we were obviously confused. I would say they suffer from a weak or lack of manager system and do not understand basic restraunt principles. The cashier was ringing up while wearing gloves and when he went into the dining room. The workers were wearing Casual attire and didnt seem to have  a dress code. While we were eating the female worker was standing around with her hands inside her apron. The workers were continually asking what we had which had gotten to the point of annoyance .
The food in my opinion is so-so but its the crew that killed the entire hope of ever going back.
