I'm a happy customer of Uncle Chens's. Good food, cheap and it's ready pretty quick too.
Here's the skinny:
Take-out OR Dine-in.
Picture menu's are awesome.
Good food & portions are just the right size.
Soup or Pop... not both.
Here's the fat:
It's a small place, a few booths and a large table in front. The large table is kinda useless though, since it's normally covered in magazines or newspapers.
Take-out is a snap, just call it in and it's usually ready in about 10 minutes.
There are big picture menu's on the wall and above the register. The wall menu features the specials. Most of the time, WYSIWYG "What You See Is What You Get".
The food is pretty good, typical Chinese take-out. I've never been OVERLY impressed but, their lunch specials can't be beat as far as pricing and portion size go. Beef and Broccoli or Chicken and Mushroom are my two staple lunch specials, pretty tasty if you ask me. The meats and veggies are cooked well and the fried rice they make is A-OK too.
With the lunch specials you get Soup OR Pop... that's the only thing I'm not a fan of. It'd be great if they just wrap it all up into one. It's not like it REALLY matters since I get the pop added on too. Thing is if both were included and the price was to go up say... $1 it'd feel like a better deal than to get one or the other for an EXTRA charge.
Either way, Uncle Chen's is pretty good, the staff is nice and the food is tasty.
