This place was probably happening in the 1910's-20's. Â When you were traveling cross country and needed a room to stay. Â When you first walk in you have a dive bar like to your left. Â Then you walk towards the vintage counter desk. Â Real old man that can hardly breath with a peculiar look in his eyes. Â Charges you $30 w/o a credit card hold and hands you an actual key. Â You walk up the dark outdated flight of stairs that lead to another era. Â This place looks like an old abandon dorm room. Â Small rooms all lined up down the creepy maroon carpeted hallway. Â You enter and bathroom has old plumbing with bar soap in pedestal sink. Â The room has no AC but an old fan. Â The bed has no actual bed frame just a box spring and a mattress. Â I thought we were going to get murdered. Â I only stayed because we had had too much to drink at the Gem City down the street.
Review Source:"Temporarily" CLOSED for renovations. Remember that identity crisis I was talking about??
I am not aware of a reopening date. Rumours have swirled that their liquor license got suspended. I haven't been able to find anything to support that rumour.
Good luck, Aztec Hotel / Mayan Bar&Grill a.k.a. Brass Elephant.
