Mcguire's Ale House

Okay Food, Basic Beers on tap (nothing special)..large space but no more pool table, darts, buck hunter, etc.

Went there for happy hr last week with work friends and opened up a tab with my CC.  I closed my tab out and paid in Cash.  The di#K bag bartender still charged my credit card and essentially I am forced to pay again.  I realize I should have kept my receipt but never did I think after what this community has gone through they would hire A$$hOLE$ who would steal from a customer.  My tab was not a lot but seriously....who does this???

I would not recommend this place to anyone...Go to the one eye pig cheaper drinks and better food.

McGuire's Ale House is a sports bar and restaurant. Great Irish dishes and the Irish breakfast to die for. Shepherd's pie, lamb stew good burgers to name a few. These Guys transform this place from a dive to a place I will revisit often. Great large outdoor deck. I'm a fan!

Had a few drinks here last night, and I have to give them a lot of credit for doing up the place nicely. For those that have lived in Newtown for some time, everyone knows that this location used to host the somewhat shady "Hot Shots," which served little more than beer and pizza.

McGuire's is decidedly a better pub effort, with some good beers on tap and a nice pub menu. I can't speak directly for the food, but my friends who live down the street tell me it's excellent, especially for the price.

Tons of HDTV's everywhere, even over the fireplace. We watched some Olympic action last night as we sipped our cocktails.

I was a little surprised at how un-busy it was on a Saturday night, but I'm sure things will pick up once the notoriety increases.
