Wonderful food and cozy atmosphere in this downtown local. Good wine selection, with flights of 3 selected wines, or customize your own flight. We enjoyed the slightly upscale, eclectic vibe. Wait staff was most accommodating. We certainly plan to return!

This is a gem of a discovery for anyone looking for fantastic food, reasonably priced, in a comfortable but classy atmosphere. The chef truly shows off her creativity in a menu that is frequently changing and features asian, mexican, and italian flavors (during the times I visited).

Wine selection also very good, likely the best in Lima, and reasonably priced.

If you are looking for a fantastic place to dine with your significant other, or enjoy a great meal and drinks with friends, you cannot pass up The Met!!!

I, for one, will make it a frequent destination.

Fantastic restaurant in the heart of downtown Lima, Ohio. What a treat. Their menu is comprised of what some might consider "small" plates but they are very tasty. The wine selections are excellent and the staff will help you choose a bottle or two from the wall. The beer selections were also a real pleasure - large selection of some that were unusual, at least to me. The baked bread, meat and cheese plate and seared scallop dish (served with a basil risotto) were delicious. I asked if the chef was the owner because you can watch the chef prepare the food and I thought this might have been a matter of pride for him or her. We didn't have the desserts but the waitress boasted that the Mello Cream Bread Pudding was one of her favorites (made with Mello cream doughnuts). There really is nothing like this in Buffalo and it would be a real plus if there was. Driving through Lima, make it a point to stop. It is right across from the Courthouse. Find them on http://TheMet306.com. Would advise checking the times they are open.

Classy without being over priced. Great atmosphere and service.Great selection of wines, bourbon, and beers. It feels like I'm not in Lima anymore.

We (party of 4) called ahead to see if we needed reservations and were told that they only take reservations for 12 or more but that if we came before 7:00 (Friday nite) we wouldn't have any problem being seated. We arrived at 6:30 and were told there would be a 40 min wait. We agreed to wait and ordered drinks. After about 30 minutes we asked a waitress how much longer it might be as we had not seen anyone leave. She indicated they there was a reservation for a party of 14 and they were late. She went on to say that if they weren't here soon, they would start seating people. About 10 min later a couple came in and said they had the reservation for 14. When we asked again about the wait time! she said it would be another hour. As we we finished our drinks, 2 more of the party of 14 came in and we left. Good example of POOR management. We will not be back.

When you go to the Met you kind of forget you are in Lima, Ohio.
I like that I have worn a nice dress and jeans but neither was out of place.
This place seems to be all about sampling - trying new things. Making people comfortable to try new things. The servers ask you what you want in a way a non-wine/beer expert can communicate. Red or White? Sweet or not? Then they find you something you will like, not because they say you should like it, but because they know their stuff & they want you to like it.
It's a new place and every time I go they have made another improvement. They added art on the walls, music - decent music - and the menu is always changing - daily specials and the beers they offer rotate. The food is overpriced for the portion - but they tell you small plates from the get-go, and it is delicious. I haven't seen another place in Lima yet that offers this type of quality and variety. Gnocchi was great and probably the most filling item on the menu. Scallops seem to always be a hit & the sliders are great for sharing. Beer flights are a great option for sharing & sampling too! I don't recommend their creme brulee dessert so much but Sara's Sweets does their cupcakes & I know those are good if you want a little something sweet. My only other suggestion would be to offer coffee with desserts for those of us who find themselves as DD on occasion who want a little something special too.

I was skeptical when I saw The Met's hours. Who closes a bar at 9 p.m.? But it makes sense in a way. You go there to have drinks, eat a bite and make friends. You don't go to get drunk.

Many people think of The Met as a wine bar. It really isn't. It's better thought of as a craft beer dispensary ($8 flights, and I get to pick the four beers I sample). As for the wines, you pick the varietal but not the brand; that changes based on availability. So if you're a wine fanatic, this isn't the place for you.

The food is good, and I don't mind paying for quality. But it's a tad overpriced, with the exception of sliders. The crab dip is a bit watery for my tastes, but the flavor is good and the bread on the side is phenomenal. The scallops over risotto is delicious if you're looking to splurge, as is the gnocchi Alfredo. The beef medallions are a waste of money: They're tasty but too meager for the $15 price tag.

As for desserts, the only one I enjoyed was the insanely delicious mousse, although the container in which it's served makes savoring the final tiny crumbs of cookie impossible. Bummertown.

Another improvement that could be made: Have a hostess guide patrons to seating. I understand most bars don't have this feature, but it's warranted because of The Met's upscale atmosphere, the fact most people will be enjoying food and the limited space available.

A classy little place in downtown Lima.

I never thought the words classy and Lima would be uttered in the same sentence but I have been impressed. The Met has a great atmosphere and will help to appease the people in Lima who are searching for a slightly more upscale experience. Prices are good by food and quality standards but are probably a little high for your average night out in Lima.

I took my grandma here for the Thursday night wine tasting and we had an awesome time. The patrons are all very friendly. Volume level is a little loud but it was, to me, the sound of a good time.

I want to give this place 5 stars because of how much more enjoyable I think it makes a night out in Lima, however, I have one complaint with the service. There appeared to be only one server handling all of the tables and at times our food/drinks took longer to arrive than expected. When we questioned the waiter about one of our dishes, we were given some sassy attitude instead of apologizing for the delay and moving on. Rookie mistake.
