Fantastic service and imaginative meals.  The food is as good as anything I've had in top restaurants in Boston, NYC, and elsewhere.  My wife and I always go to MT's when we want a special meal.

I've been to MT Bistro quite a few times now so I figured its a good oppertunity for a review. The food is always very fresh and the menu is very diverse. If you are looking for a romantic night out in Nashua with your foodie partner, definitely check this place out. The service is very consistent and the wine list is fabulous. The only negative I could find was to be prepared to spend some money, the quality of the food service and wine will be shown on the bill. Other than that go for it!

Good, but trying to be better than it is. Yes, it's  really a bistro dispite it's name change. The wait staff we had was just okay.

I've enjoyed eating at MT's several times.  The service is friendly and attentive.  The atmosphere is comfortable and casual yet feels like a special night out, so it is perfect for a girl's night or date night.  The mixed drinks are creative and superb.  Prices are reasonable, and the appetizers are large enough to be eaten as your meal.  A complimentary (warm!) bread basket with butter keeps you company as you wait for dinner.  Can't beat that!

The vegetarian options are good but I would like to see a few more vegetarian entrées on the menu.  I've eaten the falafel sandwich but it was lackluster.  The pizza is delicious!  I've eaten the mac and cheese appetizer as a meal and it was a bit too salty (and I'm a huge salt fan), but otherwise very tasty with the pesto and cauliflower mixed in.  Great wine list.  I've had the Lemon Lavender Fizz and it was delightful.

I always leave happily full with some money left in my pocket.  I definitely would return here again and again.

The Crème Brule was very good and the Smoked Salmon appetizer was good too, but that was it.

I had the Grilled Fillet Mignon and ordered it medium. Received it definitely well done. It was dry. You shouldn't be able to do that to a Fillet Mignon, but they did.

My wife had Potato Gnocchi which was very disappointing. She is crazy for this dish at most places and she was not happy with this dish at all at this restaurant.

I prefer the Surf across the street (same owner as far as I know, but much better). I would rather never go back to MT's.

I was here few weeks back for Saturday lunch. It was a very pleasant experience. Food was tasty and Food presentation was very nice - it's important to me how the plate is decorated and not just the taste.

After an absence of many years I recently returned to the former Michael Timothy's.
The revamped space is provides for a good atmosphere in a classy bistro setting.  Staff were knowledgeable and friendly...
"But what about the food?" I hear you say...
The pot roast was "melt in your mouth" divine and complimented by some decent wines by the glass that an also be purchased from the small wine shop on premise.
And the best thing - great value for the price.... I returned within a week :-)

Simply awful!  Over priced tasteless duck spring rolls; mushy-bland mac n cheese, overcooked bland burger with forgetable fries
Very disappointed and would never go back

So, the first thing I have to say is, I had heard a lot about this restaurant from friends.  I was looking forward to it walking in the door.  Basically, friends had told me it was the best of Nashua.  Maybe that set an expectation that wasn't met.

I have to say, the service was good.  I was early, they had a nice bar and the bartender was excellent.  My date met me there and we had a drink while waiting.  No one came to get us when our table was ready, I had to go find the hostess and ask if the table was available yet.

Our waiter was fine, and the time to get our food was good as well.  I got the special.  The green beans were under-cooked, the sun-dried tomato mashed potatoes came out cold (checked immediately, it's an internal test for me and restaurants) and the meat was way under-cooked.  I asked for medium rare and it came out medium raw.  Also, a sprig of rosemary stuck in my food like a Christmas tree is not the best of garnishes. The sauce had good flavor, but it was the only thing that really that stood out on the positive column.

The wine selection was good as well.

I'd have a hard time trying this restaurant again, but I might give them one more chance.  Honestly, a good restaurant apart from the most important part... the food.

I have been to Michael Timothy's numerous times and the food is always consistently good.  The atmosphere is nice and the service is good.  For Nashua, this is one of the best restaurants but you will pay the premium price for it.

$19.08 tab for tea and crabcakes.  The crabcakes were awful - my wife hated them. Way too much onion flavoring!

We arrived at restaurant at 9:00pm.  Waitress played judge and jury and shut me off - all  I was asking of her was to help us with choosing the right wine off of the large wine menu.  It seems that my exuberance for wanting assistance was interpreted as my being TOO intoxicated.  I had one 6 oz margarita plus appetizer at a nearby Mexican restaurant an hour prior.  Our 20 something waitress needs to find a new career -- customer service is clearly not her priority or forte.  Quite the disappointing end to my wife and my date night.

Bottom line - overpriced. Lousy crabmeat cake recipe and ignorant service.

I was up at 5:15am, hot yoga at 6:30am, worked for day, golf from 3-6pm (no alcohol), date night with my bride of 27 years, ended evening with total disappointment courtesy of bad MT waitress who obviously has control issues.

I was in shock -- probably should have just left; but our primary goal was too sample an App or two.  Unfortunately, the Crabcakes with the strong chive/onion taste were as disappointing as the service.

Get the pizza here.  Trust me.

MT's Bistro is great, and another restaurant from Chef Michael Buckley in the area.  Who needs pricey Boston restaurants when you have these gems nearby?

I frequent MT's a few times a month, and I'm never disappointed.  The service is always excellent, the food good, and the wine list extensive.  The last time I ate there, I ordered one of the pizzas that was on special for the evening, and I absolutely enjoyed every bite.

I came with just me and my date, but I could see it getting tough to get a table if you have more than that (but maybe not).  Every time I'm there, it's pretty busy.

Someone mentioned that this place (and Surf across the street) seems to attract the older crowd.  When I thought about it more, I realized that they were right.  Not that it's a big deal or anything because the food is top notch....

I forgot about the bread... how is that possible?  I'm getting hungry all over again just thinking about it.  Stop reading already, just go.  You know you want to.

Had dinner here last week.  The seating was good (I don't think there are any badly placed tables actually), the service was by a pro, Josh, and the meals were superb.  Special place for a special occasion.  Looking forward to dining here again someday, after I first dine at the sister restaurant Surf across the street.  I would rather rate this with 5 stars, except for the fact that they didn't take reservations for the night that I wanted to dine here.

Really great local spot on Main Street, and sometimes they have a live jazz quartet playing while you dine.  Great for a special occasion dinner, or for a treat out.

MT Bistro is a solid spot. It always provides a consistent, quality experience. Ever since they lightened things up with their remodel and revamp of the menu I've been far happier (although I was never disappointed prior).

    Specials

Typically, I'm a by the menu guy as that's usually what the kitchen does best, however at MTs, the kitchen pulls off some very nice specials, be it Oktoberfest inspired dishes (which were amazingly good...amazingly) or healthy alternatives.

    Menu

It's broad and diverse with a nice mix of lighter fare mixed in with their traditional fine dining inspired dishes. One recommendation, try their pizzas; they are really gourmet without being pretentious!

    Wine

The list is well thought as it features many 'food friendly' wines and has some very cool older Bordeaux for anyone looking for the traditional high-end experience. They also like to run 'flights' on a regular basis. Good stuff!

    Mixology

Terrific cocktails and regularly run specials. Most recently I had a Jose Julep in honor of Cinco de Mayo & the Kentucky Derby. It was terrific and they also make a mean Old Fashioned!

    Enjoy!

Amazing food, great selection of wine, excellent service. Really the reason for the -1 star is the rich old white crowd this place seems to attract and the bland, uninspired decor. I'm in my 20's and I wish it were a place I could come to without out feeling out of place because I did not put on my seersucker blazer and penny loafers.

Uhhhhhh..... did I eat at the same place as everyone else?

We drove through Nashua last week and caught a glimpse of a sign that said "Local"... so over the weekend when we needed something that wasn't hotel food, we ended up giving it a try. What we ended up eating was *delicious*. It was just everything other than the food that was the problem....

It says on the website that they are "sourcing more products from our local producers in New England and the Northeast"-- what an oddly unspecific claim. Not all... not most... just "more". And the Northeast is a pretty big place... I'm not sure I would consider New Jersey local to New Hampshire, although they are both in the same quadrant of the country. There are also no farms listed on any menus, nor could any staff menu name the source of any dishes. M asked about the source of the ground beef in the burgers. One waitress said she didn't know, but it's definitely "local"-- which says nothing about the treatment or quality of the cow. Another waitress asked the kitchen, and reported back that "we make so many different batches of hamburgers that it's impossible to know exactly which farm yours would come from"-- How many burgers are they making ahead of time??? And they can't even name one potential farm? They wouldn't even say the standards that they hold their "local" producers to-- it could be a feed-lot on the side of the highway in Mass that feeds their cattle Monsanto corn and soybeans and technically it would be very "local".

Ok, whatever, most restaurants are equally clueless. We just moved on and ordered the daily special, a yellowfin tuna over cous cous with a black bean vinaigrette for $29 (ouch). We expressed Mike's allergy to a specific kind of vinegar to ensure it wouldn't be in the sauce. The fish comes out without sauce, and we asked about it. The waitress ran back to the kitchen to check, and reported that they didn't know what type of vinegar was in the sauce, so they just left it off to be safe. How do they not know what type of vinegar is in their own "fresh" vinaigrette?? I've never seen a kitchen so clueless about their own food-- it's almost like they weren't the ones preparing it. Whoever did prepare it did a great job though-- even without the sauce, we happily cleaned the plate.

If you're looking for a decent meal at any price, this is probably a good bet for Nashua. But if you actually care about where your food comes from and get drawn in by the name, you will be extremely disappointed. We left $60 poorer, sharing a salad and an entree, and if I could do it over I'd just have eaten at the hotel-- or driven to Republic in Manch which actually does source their food and charges a lot less.

This is such a lovely restaurant in downtown Nashua, one of many wonderful restaurants in such a small concentrated area.  It is pricey but a great choice for either a gathering of special friends or a date night for some fine food and a glass of wine.

I've recently tried their gourmet pizzas and I must admit they're my fav of all pizzas anywhere -- nice thin crust with great ingredients.  Try the Carmelized Onion Chicken Bacon Pizza for one!  It's hard to get enough of this (until you get so full you can't eat another bite)!

There are always delicious specials for entrees and appetizers.

I would recommend reservations as it's a happening place.

I stumbled upon The Local Kitchen last night after trying to go to the Indian place down the street.  I had the mussels and shrimp salad.  Mussels were great.  Shrimp salad was tasty.  My only complaint is that the salad had three shrimp on it, seems a little cheap for the price.  If you like paying $$ for $2.00 worth of spinach and shrimp, get the salad, otherwise, you might want to try something else.

The service was EXCELLENT and I will be back.

Let me begin by saying that not everything was perfect.  That way you won't expect the rest of this review to be a giant suck-up job of gushing superlatives.... because it might turn out to be that way anyhow.

MT's was recommended by the bartendar at our hotel as a great local spot which is chef owned - so i was starting out with high expectations.  The hostess and waitress did nothing to dispell that notion that we were in for a dinning experiance.  Friendly and professional from the word "go" and continueing throughout the evening.

I have heard that locally produced food is the latest push in fine dining but MTs takes it to the next level.  Its a little bit like the difference between choosing to attend church services versus having the morman missionaries team up with the Hari Krishnas and camping outside your door.

I started with a Ravioli appetizer that was prepared well but was a little tart for my tastes with a slight overdose of pureed preserved artichoke.  During the app, courtesy bread of the sourdough and cinnamon variety were brought to the table with sweet butter from a local farm (miled by a one-legged scottish 3rd generation farmer and the cow's name was bessie).  I was just joking about that last part - but only a little bit.  So while i am lamely trying to be witty, let me tell you that in real life, the cinnamon bread was my personal crack.  It was wonderful and I coldn't get enough.  We finished off the second bread basket before dinner was even on the table.

For dinner I enjoyed one of the most perfectly cooked pieces of fish thatt i can remember.  It was a swordfish steak perfectly grilled to be firm yet flacky on a bed of bok chok with a light sauce that complimented the fish without detracting from the flavor in any way.  My pet peeve at any restaurant is over cooked seafood.

For dessert i decided to stay with the locally sourced them and went with a blondie brownie with maple ice cream and maple/caramel syrup.  Anyone who knows me would have expected me to go with a creme brulee or fruit tart - so I was completely caught off guard with the amazingly balanced dessert that somehow wasn't too sweet.  I was absolutely too full from dinner to possibly finish the entire plate - but magically the whole thing disappeared.  Bravo!

A early Saturday night dinner to meet friends that we only see every few months.  We got a corner table right by the window where we could people watch.  Not that we did a lot of that.  I was the only one who this was a first time experience.  Everyone else LOVED the new decor and ambiance.
The service was excellent.  Attentive but not pushy our waitstaff allowed us plenty of time to chitchat and make menu choices. We started with the cheese platter which was very good,    The entrees and cocktails were excellent.
The only mistake I made was ordering the chocolate cake for dessert.  Not because it wasn't good but because I was too full to enjoy it.  I should have stuck with a coffee.
    Definitely recommend.

We've eaten hear twice over the last few weeks.  It is definitely one of the best places to eat in the Nashua area.  The first time we shared the oysters and a dish with escargot, both were delicious and unique!  For the main entree, I had the duck - awesome!  Chris had the lobster spaghetti...this was not so good.  He liked the lobster, but the sauce was watery and bland.  Probably not the best dish choice.  For dessert, we shared the white choc creme brulee which was pretty good, and Chris had a chai toddy.  All in all, it was a great meal!  It is a bit on the pricey side though.  For this meal and a couple of drinks, our bill was about $120.

If you are looking for a cozy place with fresh local food that is not ordinary, this is a great choice!  Ambience is nice, and service was pretty good.  It is a good place to unwind & treat yourself after a hard work week.  Enjoy!

    * Great Food and Experience *
My wife and I went here for dinner on our wedding anniversary last year.  Although my wallet is still feeling the pain, it was well worth it.

They serve great food; it is gourmet quality without the skimpy servings.  Their wine selection is large.  The waitress told us that they obtain ingredients from local farms, and that all dishes are made from scratch -- that includes the sauces and sides.  I ordered the house special: roasted lamb chops with grilled vegetables.  I asked for well-done chops, but they were cooked at medium-well level.  I could have sent them back and had them redone, but I didn't mind; they were still delicious.  I don't remember what my wife got, but she said it was delicious.  (Knowing her, she must have ordered some chicken thingamajig.)  The waitress did a good job at pairing the right wine with our ordered meals.  We could also taste the fresh ingredients used in the dishes.  And, the complimentary bread -- a variety of breads were served -- also tasted great.

Dessert was equally delicious.  We ordered the warm chocolate cake.  (Chocolate tastes so good when eaten warm.)

    * It's not the Size That Matters *
It is a small restaurant.  The tables are close to each other, but you don't feel cramped.  However, you could easily listen to other table conversations, and vice versa.  You can make reservations online through OpenTable; the restaurant follows up on the reservation with a reminder e-mail and personal call.

    * Tuscan Ambiance *
The restaurant is full of yellow and orange colors.  Fine art decorates the walls.  It makes for a comfortable atmosphere.

The staff was very friendly and quick on their service.  Our waitress constantly checked in with us to make sure everything was fine.

Last year, the restaurant called itself a "Jazz Bar," but the Jazz music played over the speakers was too low -- we could barely hear it -- and it didn't seem like a Jazz bar.  It looks like they changed their name from "jazz" to "urban bistro".

    * Bottom Line *
Are you in the NH area, celebrating a special occasion -- if not, then make one up -- and willing to spend some bucks on an excellent dinner meal?  Then this is the perfect spot for you.

One of the best meals I've ever had is at Michael Timothy's. I had the Free Range Spring Chicken entree for dinner and it was very well made - I didn't want it to come to an end! Fresh flavors.

I also went back for the brunch buffet and that wasn't so impressive, especially with the $23 price tag. There are a lot of options: omelets, chicken marsala, pasta, pastries, but the quality is not that great.

I loved the variety of food choices in Michael Timothy's brunch buffet. As part of the buffet, you can get omelets and pancakes made to order.  The pancakes were good, but the standout was the omelet.  When you get the buffet at Michael Timothy's, ordering an omelet is a must. I had the specialty egg omelet of the day.  This omelet was one of the best omelets I've ever had.  The egg itself was particularly fluffy and had a nice slightly buttery taste while being stuffed with the perfect amount of crab, vegetable, and spices.   My only knock on the buffet is that many of the food items were warm rather than the ideal hot temperature.

As far as the dress code for the brunch, it's slightly dressy.  Many tables were filled with guys wearing khaki pants and dress shirts trying to impress their dates with their buffet eating skills. At the very least, for brunch, I'd recommend wearing a polo, nice jeans, and dress shoes.   At the risk of being too casual, I'd discourage wearing tank tops, pajamas, or crocs, and on the formal side, you might want to skip wearing a tux as your date might think you are trying a little too hard (I learned my lesson).

Overall, great experience at Michael Timothy's.  I enjoyed the jazz brunch atmosphere and the service was excellent.    The place is great for a nice brunch date or small family gathering.

It's not how Micael Timothy's can compete with chains but rather the other way around.
A very pleasant experience. Food is always good and so is the service.
Both times we  were a large group and I think the place is more suited for smaller groups or couples. I think you can enjoy it better this way. The pictures don't do justice. This place has character and it needs to be shown.
Five stars  if it weren't for the prices.
    Have a wine when there.

Went here for drinks and dessert after a humdrum week, sometimes you just *need* something special after a boring day. We ordered up a 'Moscow Mule' and an extra dirty extra olive martini while reviewing our dessert options and after a little discussion decided to go for it with the chocolate cake and crème brûlé. Being a chocolate cake/brownie/muffin/cookie lover I was more excited about the former so we waited with bated breath over our refreshments.

The 'Mule' was delish, it had honey in it that was a superb finish to a perfect summer drink. I'm boring and almost always go for the martini, but it's always great to try something new. A few sips in and I could tell their bartender knew what they were doing! My martini was super yum and icy to the max: my favorite.

The cake and brûlé arrived and we were dying to try them the second they hit the table. The chocolate cake was enjoyable but not mind blowing, even with the molten center. But the brûlé? O.M.G! I am not a caramel person but this was to die for, and the combination of the custard with fresh berries basically had me doing a happy dance at our corner table.

I will definitely be coming back to Michael Timothy's for dinner, and hey if the food isn't as good as the dessert I might just have to slurp a few extra 'tinis to get through it all...No biggie.

This is supposed to be the spot in Nashua for Gourmet food great service and so on.
I really wanted to like this spot but it's overpriced for what you get. Maybe it's the best around but it's not like there's much competition.
The dishes are pretty good but not worth the money for the most part. The drinks are more reasonable and there is a much better than average selection. The pizza seems to be the best option. You can share it between two to four people which makes it a more reasonable price and it is one of the better pizzas that I've had outside of NY. All of the entrees that I've had where a little disappointing.
Sometimes the other patrons can be a bit snobby, I find sitting at the bar avoids contact with them.

This is one of my favorite places in Nashua.  It's small, but maybe that's why it's good - it's easier to run the operation.

A full meal (appetizers, entre, drinks and dessert) will cost about $50 per person.  It's an upscale restaurant and the food is always delicious, so it's worth the cost.

This is a must for a nice night out in Nashua.   Don't forget the jazz bar next door.

It's small, so make a reservation.

I'm not really sure why I don't go here more often.

The drinks and wine are pretty good, the food is awesome and the desserts are pretty tasty. I also like they always have a handful of specials available which are always interesting selections.

To drink I had a Metropolitan variation that was made with apricot brandy. I forgot what silly name they gave it, but it was good. I also had their take on the Aviation, but I was disappointed by it. It was much too bitter and I'm not sure if that was by design or accident.

I didn't get an appetizer and just stuck with the bread. Very fresh and I liked that there were 3 varieties in the basket. One was a spiced bread with raisins, second was a wheat peasant bread and the third was a typical baguette. As my meal I got the lamb special which was served with polenta & wilted baby spinach. One thing I liked was that the waitress explained that the chef said that the lamb should only be cooked medium rare or less if you want to get the experience he was trying to deliver. I think it shows the level of detail and care that go into making the meals. I followed the suggestion and it was superb.

For desert I got the warm chocolate cake which was great. Although the whole presentation with the piercing and the strawberries and the cream anglaise was a little over the top. I even said that to the waitress who then proceeded to tell me that she has had tables of six were each person ordered it and it took her like 15 minutes or so to get them all served.

My boyfriend took me here for dinner on Valentine's Day.  I can safely say that what I am about to describe was one of the BEST meals I have ever eaten at a restaurant.  Get excited.

Pre-meal: We noshed on soft, warm bread while we figured out what drinks to order.  Their creative martini list made things difficult for me, but I eventually decided on the St. Germain Sparkler, with St. Germain, blood orange, bitters, and champagne.  It was fruity, but not overly sweet, and very refreshing.

Appetizer: The special appetizer of the evening was an asiago cheese souffle with lobster and micro greens.  Yep, with ingredients like that, this dish was made of win.  I could have ordered two more and made a meal of it, but managed to remember my lady-like dignity just in time and held off.

Entree: Everything looked tempting, but I was intrigued by the Seared Duck Breast and Confit Leg.  BEST CHOICE EVERRRRR.  The duck was cooked medium rare, and it was soooo tender!  It was accompanied by roasted pearl onions (mmm) and FOIE GRAS RISOTTO.  Can you imagine anything more indulgent than foie gras risotto?  Yeah, me neither.  I wish I were eating it right now...

Dessert: I'm not entirely sure how my boyfriend and I managed to eat anything else, but the waitress praised the Fleur de Sel Ice Cream - a salty caramel ice cream made in-house.  It was rich and unique, and the perfect end to a perfect meal.  It's pricey, yes, but our experience was worth every penny!

I haven't been to a decent Brunch in so long  - in fact I have been avoiding them since they became a quasi-craze some years back.  Seems like a lot of restaurants thought that if they served heavy breakfast breads and danishes, threw together an omelet station and mastered the art of slicing  hunks of meat, paper thin on a board under a heat lamp - then they could call it Brunch.

Michael Timothy's in downtown Nashua  showed me that someone still knows what Brunch is supposed to be about.

First of all I was delighted when we walked right in a little after 10 a.m.  and were seated immediately. Though the tables were a little closer together than I was comfortable with - our window view was very nice and the table setting simple and not too cluttered.  The Jazzy music was agreeable, not loud or obtrusive.

Our waitress, Meredith, was pleasant and friendly - when I ordered my Pomegranate Mimosa (which was quirky and went so well with my fruit plate) my fiance (who is a big burly type)  ordered a Mimosa as well - she offered to bring him a "Manmosa"  - which she told us the barkeep makes for men who don't want a fancy glass with fruity garnishes.  She came back with his "Manmosa" in a nice big pint glass, sans the orange wedge. It was a nice touch and we appreciated the bartender's humor.

Now about the food - Three types of salad - a garden salad with lots of leafy greens and crunchy vegetables and a selection of freshly made dressings - including a creamy bleu cheese and a snappy vinegrette. The fruit salad consisted mainly of melon (watermelon, canatoupe and honeydo) with bits of pineapple tossed in. I think the addition of a berry would have made the fruit salad more interesting.  The pasta salad (not your generic mayo-based type - thank God) seemed a little risky to me as it looked to be overloaded with capers - but I'm glad I risked it, as the pasta was firm, the capers adding just the right contrast opposite the minced red onions.

The bread board had the usual assortment of danishes (cherry, pineapple, cheese, etc) croissants and scones. While the danishes were lighter than I expected, I wasn't overly impressed. The scones on the other hand were fantastic - dense like a scone should be, but super light, loaded with cranberries or blueberries and just the right sugary crispness on top.

Aside from the standard carving boards of ham and beef - the hot offerings included Eggs Goldenrod, baked beans, sausage, oriental noodles, individual crustless quiche, and steamed broccoli. I was disappointed that the stems of the large pieces of broccoli had not been peeled prior to cooking, making the stems tough to cut through - but to be fair it was steamed perfectly.

I enjoyed the look and texture of their nice home-made translation of a corned beef hash that was chunky and savory with bits of sweet carrot, but the two items that really impressed me were the sausages and the bread pudding.  Though not a traditional breakfast sausage such as you'd expect at a brunch buffet, the sweet italian type worked well because the flavor was subtle and the sausage filling itself was smooth and felt terrific on the tongue. They were not sinewy or gritty like your typical italian sausages.  As for the bread pudding - it was creamy, custardy - not too heavy but not soupy either.  Baked perfectly it didn't need an accompaniment such as whipped cream - it was terrific on it's own and worked as a great palate cleanser between my helping of chicken marsala and the semi-spicy haddock cake.

Yes, there were pancakes - but I only had a bite of my fiance's - who ordered a short stack (3) though they will also make your a large stack  if you want.  It tasted like a pancake - no more no less. On the other hand the omelet station had a plentiful, though not very interesting, variety of ingredients. The omelets were made to order and brought to your table.  Today's omelet special was lobster and shrimp with shredded cheddar cheese.  Portioned perfectly, I was not disappointed, and managed to eat half, before I realized I needed to leave room dessert.

After such a great meal, dessert was a bit of a letdown.  There was an assortment of cookies, macaroons dipped in chocolate, fruit tarts, petite fours and some sort of chocolate covered something or other that I did not recognize, but didn't bother to find out about either - as it was rather  soggy looking and the chocolate coating appeared to be melting off.  I did try a macaroon as well as a bit of the mini key lime tart.  Both were okay, but didn't quite meet my expectations after everything else having been top notch.

At $23 dollars, it is not a cheap breakfast - but it is a very nice experience. If you go, you MUST try the haddock cakes with remoulade sauce (that was the only dish that really wowed me) as well as the sausage and the bread pudding. The fresh horseradish sauce was fabulous with the beef so give that a go as well.

The combination of great food, a nice intimate atmosphere and a really good wine list makes Michael Timothy''s one of my favorite restaurants.

The wine bar that is attached has live music and is perfect for date night.

Isn't it nice when an evening comes together? We found Michael Timothy's with the help of the Yelp community (thanks). My goal was to find a nice place to celebrate my partner's birthday. Good choice!

The interior is filled with soft tones of color and light. The chairs are comfortable and the tables are spaced at a decent interval. We heard the cool tones of jazz emanating from another room of the restaurant.

Their wine list is quite large and very impressive! It is the food that hits home, though. We both started with their Mediterranean salad, a kind of mini anti-pasto platter in the form of a salad..very good. We both ordered their specials for our entree. I had lamb. It was beautifully cooked and accompanied with roasted asparagus, a nice sauce, and sweet potato pomme-frite. My partner had the fish special, a piece of halibut with a bacon based sauce, over potatoes...he ate every last bit. We endded the meal with dessert, also quite good. I had their chocolate sampling (a chocoholics delight) and he had their bread pudding of the night, mocha chip. Both were good to the last drop.

Its nice to find such a fine dining establishment in our back yard. Who says you have to go to the big city has to have lock on fine food?

I've eaten here dozens of times over the years and I always end up getting the same thing...Twin Tournados.

The atmosphere here is excellent, especially when there's a live Jazz band playing in the bar area.

Service has always been quality (but ya pay for it!).

Everything is a la carte so it's pretty expensive, figure well over $100 for a nice dinner for two w/ drinks.

The only downside is it's relatively small inside so when it gets crowded...you feel a bit cramped.

It does have outdoor seating in the summer and they also have a great, albeit expensive, Sunday brunch.

His other 2 restaurants are very good as well, Surf (seafood place across the street) and Buckleys (steak place in Merrimack).

    Hit!

This is the place to take partner to a night out and enjoy the best food in the town. It is clean, cozy, lively, and smells good inside!

The service is excellent: friendly, efficient, and professional.

Food is just wonderful. Fresh ingredients cooked right and served right. The portion is just right size.

Always delicious, always noisy, always busy...
My husband and I have been going to Michael Timothy's since it opened; we've also tried Surf and the place in Merrimack NH, Buckley's steakhouse that are all owned by the same person.  All good.  I enjoy experimenting at new restaurants, but we have our old stand-bys, and this is one of them.

We spent late Halloween night at Michael Timothy's.  There are a few new things on the menu.  This night Husband had the duck breast and confit leg; I had a salmon in cream sauce which was one of the evening's specials.  We shared the escargot and shrimp on puff pastry for our first course.  All were very good.  Attentive and knowledgable server and water refiller are good things.
This time we were seated in the area far from the jazz bar, and it was very nice and cozy.

Despite the noise, a less-than optimal table location, and an overpatterned carpet that belongs in a casino, my girlfriend and I still had a fantastic dining experience here.

It's all about the food. The sirloin au poivre was cooked to perfection and the sauce and flavors just came together perfectly.  The fois gras risotto was just incredible.

I have to say that I was quite disappointed in the desserts though having tried the creme brulee and the bread pudding.  But I'm still giving this place 5 stars because the food is hard to beat.

The food is excellent.  I've eaten day-old leftover filet from there and it was still ridiculously good.  Tonight my girlfriend and I had the minestrone soup (some of the best minestrone I've ever had; excellently seasoned), king crab & artichoke gratin ($14, "baked with goat cheese and tarragon", phenomenal).  She had the Pan Roasted Chicken ($19,
"With swiss chard ravioli and tomato-dill vinaigrette") and I had the Wood-Grilled Filet Mignon ($32
"On a grilled, marinated portabello mushroom with herb butter, sauteed spinach and fried onions.")  Since this place is owned by the same people who own Buckley's Great Steaks, I knew I was in for a treat.  They did not disappoint.  A generous portion of melt-in-your mouth beef, perched on a bed of spinach and the most delicious meaty mushroom I've ever had.

For dessert she had the Warm, Soft, Chocolate Cake  ($9
"Bittersweet chocolate cake baked half way, pierced at the table and served with fresh strawberries and creme anglaise") and I had the Banana Cream Pie Napoleon ( $8
"Banana pastry cream layered with fresh bananas, flaky dough, and whipped cream.")  We waddled home after that.

They seem to have a fairly good wine & drink list, though we did not take advantage.
