Went here on Saturday night and ate in the bar. Â We had the Calimari Diavolo and LOVED IT! Â That and the peanuts and we were full. Â The beer was ice cold, the regulars were super friendly, even the owner (who we recognized from the picture in the doorway) made us feel welcome- chatting about the Steelers & Penguins. Â I read some of the other reviews, and sometimes the quality of the food can take a backseat to the welcoming atmosphere of a friendly bar.
Oh- I did order a grilled veggie pizza to take back to the hotel (The Peninsula- very nice place, very affordable, very clean) and that was delicious as a late night snack AND as breakfast the next morning...
We WILL definately come back here...
Btw- Adam Richmond is a TOOL...
Took friends of ours who came here on vacation for their daughters 16 birthday and we live here and thought it would be a nice change. VERY disappointed. Just given our appetizers then the main course came not even 2 minutes after. We were then told the food would be kept under the heat lamp until we were ready. It wasn't until at least 10 minutes later that we got it. The trio lasagna was sour and tasted of goat cheese, the chicken parm was so dry couldn't even cut it with the knife and the Alfredo was so over done and dry couldn't eat it. We were a table of 6.... ONE meal was ok and it was the only one NOT pasta.
NOT GOING BACK
After two days in Niagara Falls I had enough of the tourist traps and chain restaurant meals which were mostly horrendous and all very expensive. After searching Yelp for places outside the immediate area of the falls, I found this place and gave it a shot despite the poor reviews.
The establishment is a five to ten minute drive from downtown Niagara Falls but is a world away from the food establishments found near the falls. This was the first good, home cooked style meal my family had in two days. I was in the mood for chicken parmesan and my wife got the special of the day, which was a pasta with alfredo sauce. Both were excellent.
During our time at M&A we had nothing but positive experiences with the staff. Our waitress was very attentive and checked in with us just enough to make sure everything was ok. Near the end of our meal a manager stopped by our table to ask how our meal was. We got into a conversation about where we were from (NJ) and the differences in menu items in Canada. He was very pleasant to talk with and brought us a small sample of "poutine" gravy, which neither my wife nor I ever had before. Again, a welcome relief to what we had experienced near the falls where customer service seems to treat customers (tourists) like they are a burden.
Do yourself a favor when visiting Niagara Falls, get out of the tourist trap and visit M&A. Â We had a good meal with good service at a reasonable price.
This place is pretty hit or miss.
The wings and pizza are decent, but I wouldn't order anything else.
The beer selection is mostly domestic.
In our most recent visit, out table wasn't cleaned very well before we sat down, and the previous time we were here, the server was quite rude, so there seems to always be something that's amiss.
I should have checked Yelp before visiting this place! The food was overpriced, the service was awful, and the atmosphere was terrible. They were blasting Nickelback when we walked in, that should have been our first clue!! My husband ordered a tuna pasta dish for 16 dollars which was basically canned tuna, overcooked pasta, and extremely overcooked broccoli. I ordered a salad and "plain cheese pizza", which was brought out as a pepperoni pizza. When I told the bus buy (politely) that I ordered a cheese pizza, he was very rude and acted like I made a mistake. I'm pretty sure he said "well, this is pepperoni", at which point I had to say "well I don't eat meat. I didn't order that". The waitress came over and proceeded to get into a small argument with the busboy in front of us, saying the orders must have been confused and that she'd go get my pizza. She came back apologetically a few minutes later and said the kitchen would make me a cheese pizza. When it finally came, it tasted like a bad frozen pizza. I've seriously had better pizza from fast food places like Subway! Overall, a gross pizza, gross pasta, a mediocre salad and an embarrassing scene for 50$ total. Avoid!
Review Source:My girlfriend and I saw this place on Man vs Food. So we thought it would be a great idea to go to Niagara Falls for the day and top it off here. WOW what a bad idea! Food was very bland! I ordered ChickenTettrazini. The chicken looked and tasted like it was boiled and tossed on the grill for a few seconds. HORRIBLE! I can recommend the caesar salad and an iced tea though... Thats all we paid for sent the rest back.
Review Source:Went here because my little daughter is a fan of Man v. Food. Other restaurants that Adam Richman has featured have been wonderful, but Mick & Angelo's was only okay. Â The restaurant is on a skeevy strip of road, near a lot of adult toy shops and sleazy motels. Service was friendly, but the food was nothing extraordinary.
I ordered a chicken parm sandwich and a salad. Â The salad was fresh and packed with veggies. The chicken parm was pretty good. Â Had a Rickard's Red beer, a great brew that is not sold in the U.S.
The food was pricey for the quality. Â
The thing that made me want to head for the door was the constant '70s disco music that was playing in the background. Â It was loud and pervasive and really, really awful. Â There are other choices in the Falls area that are much better.
I didn't look this up beforehand, but this place was recommended as a good family restaurant by 2 hotel employees and my niece's boyfriend. Googled it and it had 10 readers choice awards. Thought we were good to go.
Got to say that it started out going from bad to worse. The spinach artichoke dip was good if it was called cheese dip with the occasional spinach artichoke thrown in. Pita bits were nice and crunchy but the tortilla chips weren't, not that they were stale but it lost it's crispness and were getting soft and chewy.
Pizza you could find better in the frozen aisle. Ribs were horrible. Seafood pasta had shrimp were they must have meant size. They were tiny. I'd rather they give 2-3 big ones than many small ones. They were about the size of a nickel if that.
Worse was they forgot my order. 5 minutes after everyone else's orders came I had to ask about mine. I got steak blue rare, mine should have been a quick meal which shortly arrived after an apology.
I will give credit to the wait staff, they were friendly, but the food was terrible. The wait staff is the only reason they got 2 stars.
I Dislike this restaurant, the food was horrible, everyone returned their food!
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!
It is more of a bar for locals, there are so many other restaurants you could try while in Niagara, do not waste your time trying this one.
Everything was burnt, out garlic bread didn't come until our meals had already arrived, it was noisy and "dirty feeling"
