Mike's Place Sports Bar

Tried Mike's Place this past Saturday night...  They had karaoke going on - there was a large group that I assume were regulars, as they all appeared to know the DJ.  I was amazed at how well they all sang!  I have nothing negative to say about this bar. There was a good mix of people & everyone was there to have a good time.

My only negative comment is about the waitress.  She was either dating or trying to date one of the guys that was there. She spent the majority of her time at his table.  We were forced to go to the bar because she would not come to our table, not even when she walked by and our drinks were visibly empty.  I can only assume it was because we were the only table that had two females & no men.  

All & all it was a good time - I would recommend Mike's Place to others!

I will always have a soft spot for Mike's Place. When I was younger my brothers would go here all the time and I was always so jealous.

Then finally I was 21 and I could go. And it was amazing being in there with them. Darts, karaoke, pool, Big Buck Hunter, massive mugs of beer for cheap prices.

Open on holidays. Good old fashioned Cypress dive. Don't dress up or expect to impress anyone, just hang out!

My neighborhood dive bar that sadly, I've been able to go to only once, even though this place is fantastic.  

It's a medium sized place with areas for pool, darts, shuffleboard, and karaoke. The bar and seating area around it is raised and there are more tables and seats in front of the stage, where karaoke was going on when I visited on a Saturday night.  They had a pretty funny DJ running the show and it seems like there were a lot of regulars participating.

When I visit a new bar I always judge them  based on how they make Yeager Bombs, and Mike's Place makes them well.  Good alcohol to Red Bull content, and it was c-h-e-a-p!  So I was one happy, intoxicated, dart shooting, karaoke listening customer.  

They had a menu but the kitchen was closed so I didn't get to try any of their bar food.  However, they were kind enough to have some complimentary snacks laid out.  They had mini sausages and meatballs in a tasty sauce which another customer called "c*ck & b*lls"  Intoxicated me found this hilarious.  Also there were some chips, veggies, and dip.  

This dive is pretty great.  Nice relaxed atmosphere, good cheap drinks, and a very friendly crowd.
