The Mill

I love The Mill!! Good beer, great atmosphere and music. Just wish it had better ventilation to get rid of the cigarette smoke.

friendly bar staff - great beer selection- and a cool bathroom - wifi. i like this bar for a quick happy hour after work - its unique & thats what makes this place.

This is where I would hang out if I lived in North Charleston.  I still don't understand why everyone is so hung up on Madra Rua, but I digress.  

The Mill has an EXCELLENT beer selection (Second only to Gene's in the local area) and a little bit of every thing else.   There's tables, and bar seating, two pool tables, board games, bar puzzles, decent food live music, wi-fi, "brunch for the rest of us" and the Charleston City Paper's 2008 Critic's pick for best bar bathroom.  The bartenders are friendly and greet regulars by name.   The food is, well... different.  They don't have a big kitchen so it's mostly wraps and salads if I recall. (I haven't been for brunch yet, so I can't speak to that)  You're generally better off at the other end of Old North Chuck (The Barbecue Joint, Sesame, EVO) if you're looking for food anyway.

On the other hand, if you looking for a low key place to down a few brews or hang out with your friends you should definitely head to the Mill.
