Disclaimer, I live 2 blocks away. This place is so cool! Awesome atmosphere, quirky people and a beverage selection that satisfies even the pickiest of snobs. I am quite glad I went, and I will be back for sure!

I'm 4'10 and have heard all my life the sayings that good things come in small packages, or they don't make diamonds as big as they make bricks. My conclusion? It's hokey, but true. And Elliotborough Mini Bar only goes to prove the rule.

So, what do you do with a tiny corner space? Options are many, but it takes some special folks to turn it into a stellar bar in the evenings, and, get this, coffee shop weekday mornings. It wasn't enough to make the spot feel really comfortable and inviting. There had to be a selection of fine craft (bottled) beers, wine, and some yummy sounding specialties. Add in bar snacks, a great music selection, and you're miles ahead of most places. It's got a laid back, neighborhood feel, which is a nice break from a heady bar scene up on King St.

Then in June, Elliotborough Mini Bar upped the ante by inaugurating a coffee program in the mornings.  Now you can try  a select group of really good roasters, on a rotating basis, at the pour-over bar. I know some people will be disappointed not to be able to get an espresso there, but come on-- the place is perfect for relaxing. Slow down and enjoy one of the best cuppas you'll have in Chucktown. You won't be sorry. The coffee program was set up by one of the best (and one of my favorite) baristas in town, Tripp Gandy, so you know it's really high quality. And delicious, did I mention that?

Though I haven't been to any of the special events, I've noticed that EBMB does feature special events. Follow their Facebook Page for more details.

This is enough to make me want to move to Elliotborough.

If I lived close by, I would definitely be here all the time. I stopped in with a friend a had a couple beers. The atmosphere, as Pinaki S mentioned, really is like being in a cooler version of your own living room. I love the music, the artwork, and the overall worn in feel of the place. The craft beer selection was excellent. Maybe 15 different bottles to choose from all over the place including local brews. They serve wine and some snacks as well. The bartender was very friendly and I ended up talking to him for a while and having a beer after my friend had to go. As I was talking to him, I found out they are starting up a coffee program soon too which will have weekday hours and limited roasts. Check it out.
