The beer is only a secondary reason to visit MVB. The main reason? Their food.

We have visited 3-4 times now and have been consistently blown away by the quality and creativity in their small plates. Fish dishes have been fresh and refreshingly creative, the vegetable dishes will astound you with their depth of flavor and inspiration, and the large plates are satisfying and well thought out. The coolest part? The menu changes all the time. A dish you wanted to try yesterday may not be there tomorrow.

Some of my favorites:

+ The Chorizo dish with peanuts. PUT IT IN MY MOUTH!
+ Fresh Anchovies over bread with cheese. Amazing.

So let's talk about the beer. Their house beers are quite tasty and the best value. Some of their imports can be rather rare and are moderately priced. I especially like all of their Saison beers over the summer months. Their CA beer selection is equally impressive and I really enjoyed having the Old Rasputin on a nitro tap.

The bartenders have been great and we really enjoy every visit.

My only gripe? The minimalistic decor is a bit too minimalistic. It's like an IKEA exhibit. With that said, I love the "library" feel along the back wall.

In the end MVB gets a full 5 stars from me!

Like the city it is in, way overrated and full of attitude. A brewery/pub should be relaxed, unpretentious and informal. MVBW is populated by your typical Mill Valley hermitards (entitled neo-yuppies who drive Range Rovers with fading "NO WAR FOR OIL" stickers). The only reason to go to MVBW is to see a Star Wars Cantina assembly of worthless Yahoo investors and their newly married Prop 8 BoyToys.

Simply put: Beer great, food really good but expensive, and the limited amount of open seats versus seats held for reservations is completely annoying. So if you can walk in and get a seat, you are likely to have a 4-5 star time, but this is far offset by the nuisance of that possibility being a rarity.

Where to start? This is hands-down the most consistently amazingly flavorful food I've ever had. My girlfriend and I have been here at least a dozen times, and have never left without being completely impressed. The kitchen is not afraid of bold flavors, but nothing is ever new-age crazy - just kicking it up a notch. The Brussels sprouts may be gone, but don't miss the charred broccoli with almonds and sherry wine vinager. Or the grilled sweet corn in jalapeño butter. And I'm still having dreams about the pork jowls a couple months ago.

Fantastic service, as well, with a knowledgeable staff. More than once we've chosen a house-made beer and just left it to the staff to build a menu around it; always satisfied.

Do not miss this place. I'm so not kidding. In fact, I'm going there now....

The shitty, long term manager finally got the boot. Finally went back to try the food and it's been great ever since.

This was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a beer person so I ordered the cider and it was terrific. The meal was out of this world delicious. Not for dieters, that's for sure, but sinfully tasty and filling. The server was attentive to our needs returning frequently to see if there was anything else he could bring us. The place is noisy but you don't expect church serenity in a beer place anyway so that was o.k. I was disappointed with the prices but had to remind myself that I was in Mill Valley, not the Mission in S.F. This is not a place I will return to often; however, I will return soon.

For better or worse, Beerworks knows what's up. Bring people with deep pockets to Mill Valley and serve them excellent beer, and you'll probably be a hit. 6-12 bucks for a beer is more than steep for me, so I don't come here unless I'm popping in with a bunch of friends or just got paid. However, the Westfalia is definitely one of my top 5 beers period - fresh, medium-bodied, many fruits, hoppy - and I'd come here just for that. Nice blend of in-house and craft brews. While the beer is at worse an 8-9 of 10 and you'll probably enjoy your trip, some may not be as jazzed with the crowd or atmosphere as most.

After visiting 21st Amendment, Anchor Brewing, Russian River Brewing, and Lagunitas in the preceding three days I would not have guessed that my favorite beer of the week would've come from Mill Valley Brew Works. But it did--the Westfalia is a seemingly unassuming German-style beer (think of an especially malty Altbier) that completely won me over. I also tried the rye IPA, which is one of my favorite styles in general and was particularly tasty here, but, dang, the Westfalia was truly memorable.

Among the best food in Marin! Plus a stellar beer selection and the uncommon experience of dining in community with shared tables. I have been very impressed every time!

Really cute place to stop in after a stroll in mill valley. Love decor and ambience. Only had their coffee and home made hazelnut choco chip cookie with salt shavings! Best I've had. Bonus for serving it up warm. Service was friendly and not pushy. We were there for an hour around lunch time and they didn't seem we just had some drinks.

Will be back for food and beer next time

I'm so torn. in its previous incarnation, I would've given this place a triple thumbs up. where else can you down a delicious beer whilst rubbing elbows with a stone-layer on one side, and a yuppie 1%er on the other?

now since the expansion, the clientele has swung towards the latter. because who else a) pays $30+ for an entree, and b) makes reservations to drink a beer?? the food is delicious. just not sure that I want to sit on my neighbor's lap at the cafeteria-style tables to enjoy it.

I instantly fell in love with Beerworks and have come back twice in a week - once for brunch and the other time for a late dinner. I love the ambiance and the rustic setting.

Brunch: came here with a friend who does not eat pork or beef. Unfortunately the menu of the day only consisted of pork items! I wish the menu had more variety for people with dietary restrictions. She ended up getting a kale dish but was kind of upset that her choices were so limited. I got the pastrami sandwich. Wow. So yummy and filling. You can really tell that they use quality ingredients!!

Dinner: my boyfriend is a beer fanatic and so I knew this place would be the perfect spot for him. They have a huge variety of house beers but also carry some other ones as well. Choosing a beer here is so hard. Their descriptions all sound so tasty. I ended up getting the Sweetwater which is comparable to a pale ale.
To start we got the grilled pork belly. Oh my goodness my boyfriend was talking about it the whole weekend. It wasn't as fatty or greasy as other pork bellies we have had. I wish the portions were bigger so I could have had it as an entree! For our entrees we shared the fettuccine and pork short ribs. The fettuccine was served very simple with Swiss chard. The pasta had the perfect texture and the flavors were very light. Our short ribs had a spicy, tangy sauce and the meat fell off the bones. I would definitely go back for these dishes.

My experiences at Beerworks thus far have been wonderful. The food is outstanding and the service is great. The servers have always been attentive and helpful when asked for recommendations. I couldn't ask for more!

This review is based on 8 visits now over 1.5 years. First off, to be clear, I'm happy they're in town. It's another option and that makes the town more appealing.

Pros: good parking, friendly morning staff (they were AMAZING one morning when I was locked out of my house, soaking wet after a trail run. The barista and manager on duty charged my cell phone, offered my coffee, water, food, and let me use their phone. Very hospitable, and always appreciated. In fact, after that experience, my friend and I made sure to go in for a couple beers that Friday night (last night).

My 4 star review is based entirely on this morning experience. Thank you again for helping me out!

Cons: the beers are too expensive (Lagunitas is my favorite beer, though $8 for one is too high even at AT&T Park) and the staff doesn't seem to want you there. I have difficulty getting friends to come with me because they feel unwelcome. There's nothing better than feeling welcome and it just doesn't seem to happen here. Nobody is looking for TGI Friday's and balloons, though a "hey, how are you?" goes a long way.

Let's face it, customers have a lot to do with a vibe as well. I know all too well that Mill Valley has mellow surfers, entrepreneurs, and nature lovers. It also has another side of folks who wear their life/ food/ business/ relationship problems and expect the world to change and adapt to them. Trying to please Mill Valley residents isn't easy, especially if you play the "we're cool" game.

My suggestion? Kill 'em with kindness. Treat everyone at night like you treated me when I came in soaking wet and locked out of my house. Get to know a few of our names, smile a bit more, and hang a sign that says "welcome".

To anyone who read this far...give it a try, bring a good attitude, and relax with an unusual pint of tasty beer.

You know that feeling when you have a dish that tastes amazing and entirely different from anything you've ever had before? That happened to us 5 times with 5 small plates last night at MVB. Absolutely inventive, great food. Awesome beer and vey charming service. Honestly this place outpaces my SF favorite, local mission eatery. If you haven't walked by this place, know it is not a "pub" (the name does not live up to the offering) it is top notch restaurant with great beers - including ones crafted there.

I've been here a number of times and always thought it was 4/5 stars. Last time I went (which was the first time since they expanded to the restaurant) it definitely slipped a notch.

I go for the hard cider and previous times the hard cider was good. This last time my options were "yuck" or "tastes like a band-aid." Serious. I had someone else try it and it tasted like a band-aid smells, which I didn't think was possible but I was proven wrong. What happened MV Beerworks?

One of their small plates is a mushroom based plate. O. M. G. That is some good eats. It was cooked perfectly with a meaty appeal to the mushroom and full of flavor. I'd go back for that...accompanied with tea. Or maybe water. Definitely not with cider.

The space is nice and it's well/appropriately decorated (a very functional approach too).

It tends to get noisy, there's a real echo and it's hard to hear sometimes. You'll be seated next to people who aren't in your party, it's sort of like an organized family seating style. Similar to Sol Food in this respect but much more orderly.

The other main platters were good and I'd go back and eat the food again.

Seriously unfortunate about the cider though.

This review is about the food. The restaurant is beautiful, and staff are friendly.

I ordered the burger and the chicken liver mousse. The chicken liver mousse was heavily oxidized and poorly prepared. The garnishes are skimpy, and the mousse itself was disgusting. It just left a horrible flavor in your mouth, the kind you get when liver is massively overcooked.

The burger comes with a side spinach salad, which is clearly just an afterthought. While the pickled cauliflower had nice flavor, the discoloration indicated that the cauliflower was turning bad before it was pickled. The burger itself is quite small, but it's hard to get past the fact that they clearly cannot cook a burger. I order medium rare every time I get a burger, but they served it to me well done. If the cooks and the chef cannot be bothered to check the temperature of the burger before it goes out, then they do not care about the food. In addition, the burger is unbalanced in terms of flavor. It just feels heavy.

In regards to the menu, there are a lot of unseasonal and silly choices, one of which is offering a lunch menu in which nearly every single item contains bread. Another is offering no substitutions. It's a service based business, accommodate your guests and cater to your clienteles taste and dietary needs. Someone here must be very arrogant.

I wouldn't return for the food, but if for some reason I needed a good drink with nice ambiance, I might stop by.

Warning: If you have a dairy allergy, just know that they don't give a shit... AT ALL! We've eaten here a lot, and tonight was the last straw. ZERO effort to accommodate me even though we've eaten there regularly and commonly spend over $100 for the two of us. This is the third time I've put up with this type of crap. I guess it's policy there. Literally, I was told they would NOT put the whip creme two inches to the left of the chocolate tart, because that's not how the dish was intended. Yes, thats right, it can ONLY go on top. I asked, is it because its pre-plated, and he said, no, it's not pre-plated, the dish was just meant to be a certain way. I've eaten at many of the nicest restaurants in the world and I've never experienced such a thing. It is mock sophistication at best, and more likely just an excuse to be rude to a customer. We could not have been nicer customers. Dear MVB: You're an over-priced yuppy brew-pub, and I love ya, but your one bad waiter apparently thinks he works at The French Laundry and likes to snub his customers for no reason like he works at a hotdog stand. I get a migraine for two days if I eat dairy, to be insulted and then pay $100 is NOTsomething I'll repeating anytime soon.

Food is best in Marin. Menu changes daily, fresh, local and beautiful options. Quick, friendly service. The space is designed with subtle beauty, perfect lighting. So very happy they expanded their kitchen. Its a pleasure to go back, every single time.

I was laughing when i read the negative reviews, the people complaining seem totally out of line. Almost ridiculous.

Back to the food. I may have had the best chicken of my life a couple of weeks ago. Such nuanced flavors and the chicken was so fresh and perfectly cooked. I just came back from French Laundry in Napa and there is no comparison with how much better this chicken is! Also, recently I had a warm kale salad which was to die for and a subtle and wonderfully flavored artichoke salad.

I cant wait to go back. Brunch is special too. And they serve blue bottle coffee, a favorite of mine. Hurrah!

If you have food allergies, beware of Beerworks - they don't care to accomodate you!

I have suffered from food allergies for 20 years, but I have never EVER been to a nice restaurant that categorically refuses to modify any of its dishes so that I can eat them.

My first clue that this would be a negative experience was that the menu states at the bottom that the restaurant "politely declines" alterations to the menu. Assuming that this did not apply to me (since, after all, I'm not just being picky), I calmly explained my restrictions to the waitress, who confirmed that the chef would not modify any of the dishes, even to accomodate an allergy. With respect to a particular dish that sounded delicious, the waitress told me that only the polenta on the side was problematic, but that the chef "could not" serve the dish without the polenta because that would affect the "presentation." She also suggested that I simply eat around the polenta (to which I am allergic)! Seriously???? Your presentation is more important than my allergy? In that case, you don't deserve my business.

Some advice for the chef: If you want to charge this much for food, then you need to be sensitive of people with dietary restrictions. If I am going to spend $100+ on dinner, I'd like to have an enjoyable experience, which this was not.

Some advice for fellow allergy suffers: Stay away.

I have given the new Beerworks several tries now...walking out on our last visit before even being approached by the waitress. It's a shame that a local bar with great bar food changed into an over priced, food establishment that serves beer. For the price that they are asking for a top shelf meal, I don't want to share a family style table in a noisy atmosphere with small portions of beer. (what's with changing the beer size and not the price...did they think we wouldn't notice?) bummer.

I just tried the new restaurant that was added this summer last week. Gary the server/barman made the meal ! His friendly demeanor and smile lights up this room. The first visit the guy was way to serious so I can see why people think they have attitude here and he really needs to smile !! As does the expresso man with the dark beard !! Smile be happy serve with gratitude and not attitude.

I'm was happy they had a delicious Cidre and happy with the chicken liver pâté which was smooth and velvety goodness, the sides were right on as a garnish. They also serve my favorite Tea Mighty leaf !!

Gary is a gem and the extra mile he made to bring me more bread for my pork roulette was greatly appreciated !

very loud place even when there are not may people in it; bad acoustics. Also has an industrial feel, not very warm. Instead of plants they use sticks and other cold items as decoration.

The beers have always been ok and sold at a premium price but the place was a hot place to hang out after work and it was worth it.
It used to be you could expect paying 8$ for a pint but now the average is over 10$ for less than a pint. Ex: beers you can buy a half liter for 4$ at whole foods are 13$ for less than a pint off the tap. Very much to expensive for the average Joe. Furthermore, you would expect such high price beer snobbery to be hard core with the proper glass selection. NOPE; ordered a Shneiderweiss and it came in the wrong glass. I could not believe it. (probably because the proper glass would cost you 20$ to drink at the rates these guys charge now.

Also i think their logo is stolen form somewhere. Looks like the Jaegermeister logo.

Bazaar food options.

not going to go again unless someone invites me and says they are paying. Even then I might try to talk them into going somewhere else; Its uncomfortable and ridiculous now.

Very bad experience at Mill Valley Beerworks last night. At first I took the treatment very personally, and then, after reading the latest reviews on here, I see I'm not alone.

I'll begin by saying that I've been going to MVBW since day one. Like other reviewers, we were thrilled that a place like this was opening in Mill Valley. It was great to go in, meet friends and enjoy a place where they really cared about what they were doing and where you didn't get any of the attitude that Southern Marin can be known for.

Flash forward to the expansion and the addition of a ridiculously large kitchen that, for a reason I have yet to fathom, is staffed by about 30 people every night, roughly equalling the number of customers who are actually dining. Does it take a million square feet and an army to fix up small, overpriced plates? My partner, who has experience in the food service industry, mentioned when renovations began that it was completely ridiculous that this behemoth of a kitchen was being installed for a "restaurant" -- I guess that's what it became/is becoming -- with so few seats. Since MVBW seemed to be more and more popular, wouldn't it make more sense to add more seating and perhaps have a kitchen half the size of the current one?

Our experience last night encapsulates what's gone wrong with MVBW. The days of going in an seating yourself are over, it seems. Instead of being a great neighborhood gathering place, I think it now fancies itself something of a latter-day Studio 54 sans the velvet rope. When we walked in, we were told to sit and wait, but "it looked like some people at the bar were leaving soon" so our wait presumably wouldn't be that long. After sitting for quite some time, we began seeing several people walking in and being allowed to go wherever they pleased. We also began to see many people turn around and leave when told they would need to sit down and wait for the honor of being ushered in. I believe we bumped into many of them who, like us, didn't have to go far to find an establishment downtown who would be happy to serve us and take our money.

MVBW has become exhausting and rather pretentious, with, like another reviewer mentioned, "too many rules." There are MANY places we could go in the Bay Area where we can get this treatment, and it' s just sad because when they opened, MVBW was unique, comfortable and fun. It used to be that MVBW was the good, down-to-earth friend; now they fancy themselves one of the cool kids who shun the friends who helped get them off the ground. They've basically gotten too big for their breeches and it shows.

Review Source:

Three words describe what what is keeping me from enjoying MVBW in the future: Too Many Rules.

You can't just walk up to the bar, or socially gather in the bar area without someone chasing you down and telling you to wait up front at the hostess stand.
When seated in the bar area high top, we've been scolded for ordering at the bar.
The last couple times in, there have been a lot of seats being reserved...for a very long time. Many that remained open for my entire meal; all the while watching others leave in disgust after their unfortunate hostess experience.

Some tips:
MVBW could go back to being a great place. Just relax the rules, minimize the reservations (or eliminate them) and encourage a casual, social environment. The menu is cool, but a better balance of casual bites and just a few of the higher priced items.

Horrible, horrible, horrible! We met a large birthday party here and had the WORST experience. We couldn't make the birthday dinner so we met the birthday group for drinks. Naturally we ordered at the bar. However, the bartender asked us not to...excuse me? You would think that's where you would order. The staff was rude, including the manager, and the service was incredibly slow. Did I mention we were practically the only people in there? Sunday night in Marin isn't usually popping. They poured us the wrong wine twice and over charged us. I would never return.

One star because the wine was decent...beer tasted terrible. Find somewhere else;)

Two stars for good beer (according to hubby), and minus three for attitude.
No acknowledgement when you come in and a haughty attitude. Two people at the cash register completely ignored our existence, and a waitress walked the other way when we came in. Weird!
Ridiculous unbending rule of no modifications to any orders (spelled out on the menu in a snooty tone). Our waiter said they could not leave the bacon off the salad because it was already made. Really? Who serves a salad that's been dressed and sitting around anyway?
I've worked front and back of the house, and I'm in the food industry now. It's a hospitality business guys! You will lose customers because of your unbending rules.
We walked out after the beer, and you lost us before it even began.

What happened to the concept of Beer?

My husband and I loved the place when it first opened and would drop in each week for a cleansing ale. Casual, social place where beer was the main event.

Since the remodel/restaurant opening, we have been in maybe half a dozen times.

Dislikes:
- poor ventilation, smokey grill smell saturates hair and clothes.
- too many servers but no service
- no area to for those who want to enjoy beer... unless you stand in the back and have waiters shove past.

Come on guys really.

Last straw. Dropped by for a few belgians the other night around 9 pm. A few seats at the common table in the back are open, however, when we went to sit down to order our fav beers, the server/hostessinformed us that she was holding the seats for a '5-top'.

Adios Beerworks.

Loved it. We had to wait 45 minutes for a table but it was fine. The only negative is that it seems really smoky due to the open kitchen.

We had a bunch of food and it was all great. Loved the risotto and the brussel sprouts. The beer was great too. Reminded me of a nice German pub with the long shared tables.

Definitely will go again.

Why did they ruin it? I loved Beerworks. I wasn't much of a beer drinker before, but after going a few times and tasting so many delicious beers, I really started to like it. My husband and I would bring the kids down on Sunday afternoons, have a pint /charcuterie plate and give the kids milk and nutella toast; a fun outing for all. It literally was our go to spot for date nights, pre dinner drinks or just having a beer with friends. The vibe was great - friendly, laid back, inviting - just what Mill Valley needed.

I'm sad to say we went yesterday and they frankly have ruined it. It's just a restaurant now. There are plenty of those. I can go to SF for that. I love good food, but that's not why I was going to Beerworks. The vibe is completely changed, the clientele has changed and the warmness is gone. It's unoriginal now... not a meeting spot for young and old, just a restaurant trying to be too fabulous. I feel like they made sense before and now they're confused about who they are. What a bummer. I literally have no urge to go back again. Sad.

I will begin this review by saying I'm in the restaurant business. In fact, i own and operate 3 restaurants. 2 in SF and 1 in Marin. After hearing chatter that beer works had brought in a tattooed hipster chef with game from the "chez panisse family" I decided to check this place out as a patron. We arrived on friday 10/5 at 9:30 and were warmly greeted by the manager ( that i've known for a few years) and told that we would be seated soon. After a beer each, and around 25 minutes time passed, the manager informed us that the kitchen would be closing at 10:30. He did not expect any tables to turn by then, so we we either eat on our laps in the waiting area. or we would be SOL.

We walked the F*#K out just before 10 pm.

It's a sad day when a new restaurant disrespects people in their own field.

BTW, their website says they are open till midnight

When your menu wreaks of sustainability, it's important to not slip into false promise

Beerworks was a wonderful concept gone Frankenstein. The surly brothers who own it would never know because they seem to view their customers with disdain.

Beerworks was the talk of the town when it opened. Everyone gave it rave reviews. It was just what Mill Valley needed. A cozy beer joint with a great draft and import selection.

The beginning of the end started when you dropped the ounces of beer per glass and jacked up the prices.

Enjoy your patrons and your full-kitchen, post renovation success.

We're going elsewhere.

Great place for a causal drink spot, especially before a nice dinner or comedy show in Mill Valley. The ambiance is perfect -dim lighting, big wooden tables for groups, and mason jars with flowers.

The hibiscus beer is delicious! The appetizers are small, but tasty. Definitely a good spot for a celebration with a fun group!

I used to go to Beerworks at least twice a week. It was the de facto meeting place après bike ride, to start the night, or just to grab a pint with a friend. That was until they refused to seat us because we weren't ordering "food." Apparently grabbing a pint and a couple apps doesn't qualify you for a table now that they have become a "restaurant." We haven't gone back since.

Rather than alienating their core customers, Beerworks should take a look at other gastropubs that successfully balance the beer and food crowds, like Magnolia Pub on Haight. They could take a few cues from their menu too. Any brew pub where you can't grab a beer and a moderately priced, tasty burger is suspect.

This place has a nice upscale "man cave" feel that I really like. It's like a gentleman's hang out place. Every time I go it seems to be packed with attractive single guys but I'm too shy to say hi to anyone and I don't like to sit at the bar.

The interior is dark and modern interior but with fresh flowers. It just feels modern and homey in here to me. The way your dream house in mill valley would look.

The Treble Hook Rye (House made Beer, excellent) is a dry amber ale that I love.

I tried the Okra which is listed as a "small plate" - it came out fresh and green - not overlooked. It had a nice and interesting mix of toppings: mint, Serrano Chile's sauce was slightly tangy. Yum. It's not served the traditional deep fried southern way or the saucy Indian way, it's a unique item.

Grilled Anchovies & Red hawk Cheese - Also amazing. The best anchovies I've had, I think. These are grilled who with their tiny little bones intact but you can take them out or eat them. Triple cream cheese, enough said. The people sitting next to me saw me eating this and they promptly ordered it, too.

Pork Loin small plate - thinly sliced pork with just enough fat to look nice and taste great, incredible aroma, served on a beautiful, homey, dark wood chopping board with toasted bread and Dijon mustard and a few pieces of cooked greens. My favorite of the evening, I only wish I'd ordered two of them.

Prices here are high for the portion size but the quality is EXCELLENT so it makes it worth it in my opinion for a special occasion, great date night or a way to treat yo' self.

I'll be back for more great beer, great food, and the view of cute guys, thanks!

I love this place. The menu is constantly changing which is refreshing! It's not your average fare either ... there is always a few things to catch you off guard like a pile of anchovies on red hawk slathered toast covered in a dusting of tarragon, parsley, and chives. I'd kill for a do-over on that moment in time.

The beer is awesome too. I've never ordered anything they don't make in-house because I think their beer is better than anything they bring in bottled.

My only complaint is that it gets rowdy which is problematic for deep conversation ... I'm a little hearing impaired thanks to too much rock n roll.

Go here.

We stopped in for a lite-bite and a quick beer after an afternoon hike atop Mt. Tam.

Old Speckled Hen for me, and a brown ale for him.

I ordered the lemon pepper Arugula salad with parmesean and bresaola-I do remember that, as I really enjoyed it and had a weird obsession with Arugula afterwards. My beau had the pork slider, which was extremely tender and flavorful, but pricey for its size.

It was cute overall, a slightly country feel with a modern twist.

I can really only give the place 2-stars because of my personal experience outside of the food and beverage. I'm big on customer service, and it was just sub-par. Great beer should be shared, not offered pretentiously.

Soup of the Day: Beer http://www.yelp.com/biz_…

Wait, Whaaaaa?

That was what the sandwich-board / chalkboard on the sidewalk read.
Sure, I read what I wanted to see. Close enough.

A handful of Mill Valley's own microbrews on tap, plus 8 or so "guest" taps.
Add to that a list of 200 or so specialty bottles and a few flannel-clad, chums behind the bar that seem to know everything that's important at that particular moment in time.

Saddened by the fact that the soft pretzel had fallen off the menu, I was "forced" to order something else incredibly delicious and perfect with a sampling of brews. The fact that a microbrewery has a kale salad on the menu half blew my mind. The fact that it was huge and delicious just put it over the top.
But don't stop there.
Pastrami sandwich hit the spot and my partner in crime couldn't stop raving about the sausage.

A hidden gem in Mill Valley, at the edge of "downtown", it lacks pretension and delivers everything you could want after a day nestled among the redwoods.
