First time here, so the place is huge and plenty of bar space. Big drink menu and really good prices on food and special drinks. Guys seems like there is plenty women as well. Food was good get the blackened chicken quesadillas. Id go back . But man I don't no if AC was broke but it was a oven in there
Review Source:The fairly new restaurant/bar isn't bad. It large, has outdoor seating, the waiters and hosts have always been kind and attentive.
They have a really nice selection of beers, on tap and bottled. They also do a beer sampling (5 beers for 10 or 12 bucks). The waiters don't explain them to you, instead there is a laminate paper with under the beers with all details.
The food is bar food. They have wings, nachos, chicken fingers, sandwiched etc. I got the blackened mahi mahi sandwich with sweet potato fries. I didn't like the bun. I don't know what kind of bread it was but it was a bit too hard for me (possibly could have been stale?), the fish was well seasoned, but dry, and between the hard bread and the dry fish I had to drench my sandwich with tatar sauce (thank god it was good). The fries were ok. I like my fries crunchy, these were a bit too soggy for my liking, but totally edible. Everyone else at my table seemed to really enjoy their food. BTW portions are huge! totally easy to split a plate with a friend.
We also got 2 $10 (32oz) pitchers of margaritas. for 10 bucks they weren't  bad, would I just randomly go and order a margarita here? No, I'll stick to beer. But since we were all drinking, we figured we'd be economical and just get the pitchers.
The place isn't the most amazing on this planet, but for some bar food and beers with friends, it's definitely a nice alternative to Friday's and Applebee's.
The food was meh - about what you'd expect from a highway strip mall chain restaurant. Â And the service wasn't great. Â Waited a good 10 to 15 minutes for drinks and had to order a few of our drinks twice because they never came. Â And they screwed up a few rounds by giving us the wrong beer. Â The beer list wasn't too bad and they have a ton of TVs, which was nice. Â If this was a neighborhood place, I could see coming and watching the game here, but I doubt I'll ever want to get in my car and drive here. Â By 9pm it turned into frat boy and meathead central.
Review Source:This place is going to take all other bars in the area down and fast. They're drinks are cheap, reallllly cheap! And food too which is delicious. It's not as packed Mon-Wed. But Thur-Sun expect a wait at the bar or to be seated, but they try to be fast about it. It helps at they have two bars. One bar is more for music, dimmed lights and for a night out while the other one is more laid back, brighter lighting and an actual dining area. To only gave them 4 stars because of the fight to get to the bar sometimes on their busy nights. I recommend this place to everyone!
Review Source:I usually give 5 stars to places that have the best food I've ever tasted, but this place does more than just serve good food they have great rapport with their customers, great service, about 50 beers on tap, great happy hour specials, awesome prices in general, a million tvs with every game you can think of on, it's really nice inside, and the food is pretty good. I'm not saying the food is the best I've ever had but this place gives you so much to like it's hard not to give it 5 stars. This is a great place to come to early in the day on weekends when it's not crowded. I've never been here at night so I can't speak on how things turn out then but afternoons-early evenings on weekends are a lot of fun. I haven't been served by all the bartenders there but the few that I have been served by have always been so pleasant and were good with giving us the attention we needed right as we needed it.
Review Source:It's a chain restaurant. Â They have a lot of beers on tap and the food is very consistent and reasonably priced. Â On my visit I had raw Blue Point oysters and a Chicken Cheesesteak. Â The oysters were nicely presented, but I did notice 2 things about them that could have been a lot better. Â First, their served on plastic. Â I guess this wouldn't bother me so much if I was near the ocean, but I wasn't. Â Also, they seemed like they weren't freshly shucked. Â They were beautiful looking and clean, but lacked flavor, which made me think there were factory shucked, and shipped in plastic wrap. Â
The Chicken Cheesesteak and fries were good, but nothing to write home about. Â The service was friendly, somewhat reluctant, and I wouldn't say nearly as engaging as I would have hoped. Â I would go back if I was in the area and I needed something to eat.
Nice big sports bar. Â Good food. Â Huge portions. Wings are good but i like Hooters better. Â Outside patio is nice. its heated too! But can get too hot!! there's no in between. Â LOTS OF TV's!! the enclosed bar seems a bit strange. Â They should just knock the wall down. Â this place needs a DJ!! Â i come here for UFC fights. Â Good selection of beers but they can do better
Review Source:This place is deceptively large. There are two bars - one completely inside and one in their enclosed patio. There is also an outdoor patio with tables for outdoor seating.
Miller's Ale House is definitely a sports bar with TVs situated everywhere. Sports memorabilia is very visible in addition to fish. There are fish all over. I'm unsure of the connection.
I have to say, it was a Tues night and this place was packed. Every table was occupied.
In looking at the food and drink menus, I'm reminded of a TGIFridays or a Chili's. Â The food was OK...so was the service. Â
There was a DJ and a 'club' scene in the enclosed, outdoor area...an interesting spot for Bergen County.
Huge parking lot.
Affordable drinks!!! [Long Island iced teas were $7 and rum & coke was $6]
Great chicken wings.
Spacious.
Good place to hang out with your friends... watch sports... eat hot wings and not spend a fortune! We come here once in a while and our only complain is that they're noticeably slow when it's a little packed. One time, our credit card came back after 15minutes. That's it, all in all great spot!
I'm always down for some new local bars..I used to come here a lot for Sunday Fundays. Good prices, good crowd. It does get really packed if that bothers you. I dont mind it. I've been there on Friday and Saturday nights and its also pretty fun.. Their garlic parmesan zingers are AMAZING!!!! Beer specials are great... I'm always down to support new fun places in the area! Huge parking lot!
Review Source:We went there for dinner last night and I'm not sure why I didn't plan better food wise. There were so many great options around town. I was very disappointed in the quality of the steak my boyfriend ordered- he barely ate and he likes steak at even Applebee's- he is not really fussy. Â I had an appetizer sampler which was decent not near yummy. I will say the desert ice cream pie -peanut butter flavored- was tasty. Â However I had a mojito that was like lemonade with a leaf. Strange! Â I knew right away (I know my drinks!) Â So I give it one star but I'd go back for drinks-beer or wine only BC I don't trust them and need to know what I'm getting. Â
PS we loved the many huge screen TVs. Â Good for games.
I came here a few times and it was the same story, very long waits for a table, at one point it was upward of 90+ minutes, so I decided to head over to the bar. Major downside of their seating system is you constantly have to check the number board- no pagers or announcements, if you miss your number- its an added wait.
Besides all that, the drinks and specials are very good. Be sure to look at the menus because they do have specials in there that aren't really mentioned. Service tends to be on the good side with a very attentive staff. Dinner specials are usually very well priced. The food quality is decent and the portion sizes can be large for some. That is the restaurant side of the story.
The bars tend to be crowded and can be hard to find a place to order a beer. I figured at one point to just order a bucket of beer for myself so I did not have to put up with finding a place to order. During busy times, there may be a waitress taking orders for drinks- but it does get awkward when it gets packed and you are holding a bucket of beer.
Absolutely awful.
We came here with a large group that had called ahead and the 15 of us were seated at a table for 8, the waiter told us that we would also have the next table over once the people there finished eating, and unfortunately those people were made to rush through their meal by the waitstaff because we were in everyone's way.
The server had a really difficult time taking orders, walking away multiple times before he could get them for the whole table, and the food and drinks were brought over piecemeal, before the silverware.
The food was subpar for the most part, the fries were decent but the chicken zingers were basically greasy chicken fingers smothered in Frank's Red Hot sauce.
The drinks were okay, but overpriced. They also brought us the check as soon as all the food came out and told us we could continue ordering drinks from the bar.
And the crowd is probably the worst part. It's extremely young, mostly college aged or recent graduates. They're very loud and very rude.
I won't be going back.
Yay!! Sport night. What am I doing here on a week day night? The crowd was young as in I just turned 21, let's party. This particular night there were three games and very crowded with no place to sit. Â Not a smart idea to come here for dinner on a game night. Waited literally one hour or more for a table.
Finally, after almost dying of hunger we were seated only to be served with a dry cheeseburger that was weak in every aspect of burger rules.
I enjoyed the sprite, pickles, and the little eye candy that was available.
Yeah, and lots of television.
Brought my girlfriend here for dinner tonight. Wow. So good!! From the Angry Orchard cider, appetizers, entrees! And dessert!! Captain Jack's Buried Treasure!!!
For a great date, night out with friends for some drinks (did that a few weeks ago with some colleagues from work), this place is really great! A hidden gem I'd call it.
Shouts to our server Erin who was awesome!
I've been here twice now and feel like there is just nothing impressive about this place.
First time was on a Saturday night - it was a packed bar where you could hardly order a drink. I was told this place has a great beer selection, but found that there was really nothing unique about it. I ordered a Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, and they were out. I wound up ordering a cocktail instead.
Second time was with my family for dinner. It was one of the first warmer days, so their patio was open with the heaters on. It was still too cold for me, so we sat inside. Even though we were sitting inside, we might as well have just sat outside. They keep all the doors wide open, so it was drafty and I was cold during the whole meal. I didn't ask to move because the whole place was cold. I had the calamari as an appetizer and Mahi Mahi as an entree. The calamari was OK. Had a sweet thai sauce on it, wasn't rubbery - but tasted mostly like "fried", not calamari. The Mahi Mahi was OK. I had green beens on the side which were also OK.
Overall, I never had anything here that was better than OK. Not sure I'll be back again.
This was my first visit to Miller's Ale House. Â The location is convenient for me and the parking was ample but I was there on a weeknight. Plenty of open seating and our waitress came to our table immediately.
We had an appetizer of calamari which was okay - didn't seem very fresh nor hot. Â My dinner was fish tacos with rice and beans which was very good, you could taste the fish..it wasn't covered with heavy sauces and creams. Â Rice and beans tasty.
My family's dinners of a burger (overdone) and fish scampi looked decent but nothing to brag about.
The ambiance is fun, lots of TV's, I definitely would not be caught here on a weekend evening or during a sporting event...but with that kind of a liquor/drink menu I would be back with friends on a weeknight -- would like to try that outdoor seating with heaters.
I would give it one more try.
This place here serves an "effing mean a**"great burger. Bistro Burger cooked up medium rare with onion rings on top; the fries could use some work though. This is pretty much the only sports bar I can find around in B-county. Beers on tap galore. Come one come all! There are plenty of space inside and get ready to be mesmerized by the flat screens around you. I shall be back. Go Eaaaaaaaaaaaagles. I kid. I kid.
*Route 4 East traffic on a Sat. Geezus H.
*They serve up 35 shrimp scampi...at the bar. Jersey. You gotta love it.
On Friday and Saturday nights this place is a meat market. Â After making one circle around both bars I broke into a sweat. Â Not because the place is huge but because there are so many people standing around and sitting at tables. Â You really shouldn't try coming here on either of those nights unless you have a guaranteed seat at a table or at the bar. Â Otherwise you'll be shedding clothes and losing your patience in no time.
Yes, the drink prices are great and that's why so many people visit on the weekends. Â And that's also why there are at least half a dozen security personnel split between both bar and entrance areas. Â Parking isn't too much of an issue, unless it's raining and you didn't bring an umbrella.
I strongly suggest you visit here earlier in the week for a more enjoyable experience.
I know I will...
Really craving some wings, burger and beer, I wandered into Miller's. Boy was I disappointed. Just to clarify, it has nothing to do with the service. The staff was spot on. They regularly checked in and stayed on top of their job. The beer selection was standard and the food was sub-par. Buffalo shrimp...skip it! Soggy and luke warm. Turkey burger was plain. No lettuce, tomato, onion, or even mayo! Great for locals who want to get together to watch a game with wings and beer. Honestly, par for the course of other places I have visited along Rt. 4. Disappointing.
Review Source:Ok, so my first time at Miller's I was super thrilled and loved the place. They received 5 stars. I went back with a friend last night for dinner/drinks and was not pleased at all.
I ordered the Zinger meltdown, as did my friend and yeah, it was good. Loaded cheese fries with their signature zingers on top. Nothing special but I was in the mood for "bar food". I had a New Castle and 3 Heinekens. My friend had 4 Honey Jack and Cokes.
Our server was great, stayed on top of our drinks but didn't hover.
Here's my problem, and the reason it goes to 3 stars.
1) For two people, with the little listed above, our bill was $81. Seriously?? Look, I don't care if that makes me sound cheap. I think that's absurd for the little amount we ordered. I could have had the exact same order at my local bar for HALF the price.
2) I'd say 90-95% of their menu comes in at OVER 600 calories. They don't list their NI so I had to Google it and it's insane. All the fish/pasta/chicken plates are at 1000 calories and up. The zinger meltdown? 2490.
Two thousand, four hundred and ninety calories.
Let that sink in.
I've never said this about ANY place before, but I will NEVER eat at Miller's again. I may go in for A beer, but that's it.
Last night was my second time eating at this place. Â The first time I had the an order of wings, zingers and a steak sandwich, which all were excellent!
Last night, I decided to order the full rack of ribs. Â One thing I will tell you is DON'T order the ribs. Â They were absolutely disgusting! Â I'd had my share of ribs in my time and these didn't even taste like real meat. Â Not to mention, they had NO sauce on them and all around, was a bad meal! Â
Overall, I really like this place and the staff there are very nice. Â I would certainly go back, and try other things.
Ate here 3 times so I think it's time to write something.
It's a cool sports bar. Large space, lots of flatscreens, even a fireplace. Attentive service and they can get busy. Decent beer selection and definitely good food. I stopped in twice and got takeout once (the only complaint I have is the food got soggy by the time it got home). I really like their burgers and I REALLY like their onion rings. The fish and chips were ok, although they were slightly salty for my taste. Their philly cheese steak is good too. Cool place to stop in, have some beers and good food and watch a game or 2. Parking can be tough since theres a big gym next door as well as other stores in the area, but I think they have valet on the weekends.
Came here on a sat night and it wasn't pretty packed. I'm disappointed and won't be back here. We waited about 5 mins for a booth which isn't a long wait but then we waited 30 mins for a waitress so that's one star off
Ordered chicken nachos and the waitress found a hair in it and changed it but didn't comp it?!?? Thats 2 stars off!!
Drinks are very cheap there so I suggest you go there for drinks and not for food cuz food is like Applebee's food, maybe just a tad bit better. But still I won't be back.
Miller Isn't One Of My Go To Brewers  Mediocre Food And Beer  Cheep Prices  Filled With Obnoxious Overgrown Children
If I feel like being in a sardine can with a bunch of loud childish A-holes unable to hold their liquor or drinking way too much run of the mill(er) cheep beer, this is where I would go. LOL at the reviewer with the lobster bib critiquing the kitchen like this was ever meant to be fine dinning, it's pub and grub duh!
Hey, knock yourself out.
I've been here twice so far; Sundays for football of course. There are TONS of tvs to choose from and they show all different games. It's best if you get there early to get a good spot because it fills up pretty fast. The bar is nice and there is plenty of space.
The service is pretty decent. They are fast, nice, and helpful. The menu has all kinds of things to choose from. The Zingers(which are something of a boneless wing) are delicious and come in all kinds of favors. Those are a must have. There are tons of beer on draft as well. I can't wait to go back here next Sunday.
These guys have definitely gotten their act together! Â
They helped me and my friends throw a fabulous birthday party for my friend who never gets to do anything special for her birthday! Â And they did it all on a packed Friday night!
They reserved enough tables for 20-25 people, allowed us to decorate and bring a cake, and they gave us fast and efficient service from 8:30 til practically closing. Â Our waiter, Peter, was the absolute best! Â Miller's Ale House is a great place to throw a party!
As a side note, I also really appreciate the presence of the bouncers. A lot of busy bars are creeper magnets and these guys do an amazing job of keeping things running smoothly and sexual harassment free!
Its miller time! Â 6 dollar miller pitchers all day every day. Â Now thats before tax because yes there is tax on beer.
MGD... highlife.. miller 64... they got a good selection of delicious nutritious miller beers at millers ale house.
Crowd is very young (19-30) and the place was packed the couple times i went. Â day before thanksgiving and last friday night. Â But never had any trouble getting drinks.
BIG bar, lots of space, Â tv's, gas fire place, and the nachos look good.
This place is super crowded. I have gone in 2 times and had more than an hour wait. The first time was almost 2 hours so we left and the second closer to only an hour so we waited. Â We were able to squeeze into the bar and get a drink while we waited. Â After a super long wait that were spent standing in a corner we got our table.
The food was ok but nothing special. Just about the same quality as Houlihans.
Not worth the wait.
I went here about 5 times already, 4 times before it got really packed and once day before thanksgiving which was ridiculously packed!
Food is pretty good I love the naked wings and the side dishes. I love to drink so this place is good for drinks - BEER mostly. I love how everything is cheap compared to NYC prices which I am used to seeing. However, don't go here on days such as sunday night football or day before thanksgiving. Worst shit ever...especially because I have no patience to wait more than 30 minutes for A drink. I don't know why my jager bombs are already mixed though?! its a bomb...I should be dropping my shot of jager into my glass of red bull!
oh yeah....obnoxious crowd. I don't want to see half of my graduating class here either but what do you expect in a town like Paramus with literally 2 bars.
The obnoxious crowd on Friday and Saturday nights really kills this place. But I still do like the awesome beer prices available all day long. And the desserts are good. I have given up on finding food that I would come back for since I have been here a handful of times.
So I would label this sports bar as a good place to catch a game with a beer in hand or to grab a beer after your marathon at Bergen town center next door. If you expect more than that you will truly be disappointed.
When you go to Miller's Ale House, don't expect a fancy steak, plan on waiting about 30-40 minutes for a table, and hopefully you arrive at the exact minute someone is getting up at the bar so you can sit while you chug a beer while waiting for a table.
Of course this place is packed right now, because I'm sure everyone else in the area is tired of going to Houlihan's, PF Changs, and TGIFriday's after shopping...
The food isn't great....I wasn't a fan of the wings. Â I guess i'd order the buffalo shrimp again... Â
This place has a pretty cool bar, and great for sports, considering the amount of TV's. Â Don't expect much though when you arrive, and hopefully you won't become so disappointed like the rest of reviewers. Â It's kind of like a step above Hooters with the huge picnic-like tables, and without the "classy" waitresses...
Huge, clean restaurant with tons of televisions make this a great sports bar or place to grab a bite. However, we weren't blown away by the food - just average for both selections.
Service was polite, but extraordinarily awkward from the moment we walked in the door until the second we left with both the employees with whom we interacted. It was actually uncomfortable. They need to loosen up!
Ok my review of Millers Ale house has changed based on my third visit. We orders the chicken nachos and they were awful. All quantity and no quality. Chicken was over cooked and everything was ice cold. Â Waitress never even cam over to ask of everything was ok or if we needed anything else. Â Service is horrible.
My biggest complaint is that they allow people to smoke on the outside patio where people are eating. What moron of a manager would allow smokers to mix in with non smokers. Since the place was so packed we were forced to sit outside. We had to sit and breathe in that garbage while trying to enjoy our sub par meal.
Guest from inside were coming out to the patio just to smoke. Â The place has multiple managers working and none of them think to limit the smokers by not allowing the guest sitting inside to come out to the patio dining area.
I used to smoke for years until I smartened up and realized it was going to KILL me, Â and its absolutely obnoxious during someone else's meal.
Dumb idea. The 24 ht fitness right next store must be thrilled that people had to walk into the gym past a cloud of smoke.
So pissed that we had high hopes millers.
Glorified fast food sports bar not worth waiting for!
My family called the restaurant to make a reservation identifying it was for my birthday. We were told no reservations are taken and they will take care of us when we show up. So we did, at 2PM on a Sunday. We were a party of four with me wearing a stupid birthday hat. They told us "due to the game on TV, we do not know when you will be seated" and that was with a bunch of people waiting outside. It would have helped to let us know before arriving when we called! All the front-door staff were absolutely abysmal DOING NOTHING AT ALL TO HELP. We left in disgust.
The place seems to be packed at all times with people occupying tables nursing drinks watching entire games while those that want to eat have to wait outside for hours.
When I wrote a letter of complaint someone named Anthony claiming to be a regional manager left us a message saying he was sorry. Very lazy and insulting response. He offered nothing nor did he bother to write an actual letter of apology.
If you want to have drinks at a generic place packed 4 deep go for it. For me there are plenty of similar places without the wait or stupidity of management.
Three of us came for lunch last Saturday. Â It was not crazy crowded. Â We sat at a table in the bar area that has the large, screened open windows. Â The temperature was perfect.
Having just returned from a vacation in southern Florida we were anxious to try their version of smoked fish dip. Â This is not a common appetizer in the Tri-State area and we wanted to compare to the ones we recently enjoyed. Â Unfortunately, the 2 NJ locations don't carry it. Â
Instead we began with the Zinger Potato Chip Nachos (Zingers with  Medium Garlic Sauce, Cut into Bite Size Pieces and Served over Homemade Potato Chips. Topped with Jack & Cheddar Cheeses, Diced Tomatoes, Green Onions and Sour Cream).  This was a pretty huge portion even for the 3 of us.  The potato chips were perfectly crunchy.  I wish there was some type of salsa or sauce that came on the side.
The staff was overly apologetic about the length of time that it took to bring them to us. Â There must have been 4 different manager-types that came over to apologize. Â We never felt like they were taking an unusually long time.
Wife had the Apple Walnut Salad (Fresh Romaine Topped with a Vinaigrette Dressing, Craisins, Candied Walnuts, Fresh Apples, Grapes, and Crumbled Blue Cheese). Â They forgot the apples. Â Waiter and manager again were very apologetic.
I had the Miller's Steak Sandwich (Marinated Steak Piled High and Smothered with Onions, Mushrooms, Bistro Sauce & Provolone Cheese. Served on a Toasted Garlic Steak Roll with Pickle and Fries.) Â I substituted the regular fries with sweet potato fries that came with a dipping sauce which was whipped butter and tons of cinnamon. Â That dipping sauce was quite the hit at this table. Â Otherwise the sandwich was just okay. Â The bread got a bit too moist from the bistro sauce...next time on the side.
Friend went with the Fish and Chips (Flaky White Fish Fried Golden Brown. Served with Cole Slaw and French Fries.) Â Friend substituted the fries out for onion rings. Â This was the largest portion of fried fish that I have ever seen. Â He enjoyed it very much.
Managers comped us dessert.  Wife and friend selected the Capt'n Jack's Buried Treasure (Homemade Ice Cream Cake with Oreo® Cookie Crust, Caramel, Chocolate Fudge & Heath Bar® Crunch).  Most of the shallow bowl was filled with the chocolate fudge and the cake sat atop.  THEY LOVED IT!!!! Â
I would definitely return.
