We were in the neighborhood and decided to give this place another try since the food wasn't that bad. We were pleasantly surprised. We shared the crab cakes for our appetizer ...  I'm always nervous to order crab cakes when I'm not in a seafood restaurant but these were surprisingly very good ... they had lots of crab, hardly any breadcrumbs and the outside was crispy. It was also a nice portion. Will definitely order that again. We then shared a pizza and cheese burger... the pizza was good, thin crust with just enough topping and not greasy.... the cheese burger was really good... served on a kaiser roll and french fries... The french fries were out of this world.... perfectly cooked... nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I usually am strong and won't eat any fries, but these ... I just could not resist... they were worth every calorie and the extra half hour on the treadmill :)

Glad we tried it again ... we had a better waiter this time, he was attentive and had a great sense of humor. Also, they seemed to have fixed the aircon... It was 90 degrees outside and the temperature inside was consistently comfortable.

I've been here a few times. Up until my last visit I would have given Oak Ale House four stars (mainly because the pastas are delicious and I had not had any problems). However, I went on a Sunday night around 7pm. The restaurant was not particularly busy, but was clearly understaffed for the evening. I had a two hour window to kill before Game of Thrones at 9pm so I wasn't worried about rushing. I ordered a water, New England Clam Chowder, and BBQ pork with mashed potatoes.

So many mistakes were made. I never received any eating utensils, plates, or my water. After 10-15 minutes of waiting I went on a scavenger hunt for all the supplies: I located plates, a glass, and pitcher of water and proceeded set my own table and pour my own drinks.

As for the food: chowder was good, but the pork was rubber (ugh!). To top it all off the service was so slow that I missed the beginning of Thrones. This meant I was forced to wait until the next showing at 11pm to catch up.

Unacceptable. Get it together Oak Ale House.

Attended once and ate in the bar.. would prefer to eat in the dining room next time.  I ordered a open steak sandwich with fries and it was delicious, cooked perfectly and the meat was high quality.

A week later attended a large birthday party upstairs.  The waitress gave it her best attempt to keep us in food and wine but we could have used additional help.  The food was the usual fare of ziti, chicken, and salad, calamari.  Everything was tasty and hot and the servers were all friendly.

I wouldn't mind having a small party there in the future.
