I was contacted by ale house Daytona's GM and we had a very productive conversation. I explained to him that I was very upset by the demeanor of his manager and concerned about the incedents of overcharging either accidentally or possibly on purpose. I can't remember the general managers name but he conducted the conversation in an intelligent and cordial manner as it should have been handled by lower management that night. And, my complaint was addressed 1 hour after filing it on AH "contact us link" on their site.
Knowing that my encounter that evening was promptly addressed tells me that AH is upstanding and does care about their local customers and what's going on at their establishments, I can appreciate that.
So yes, We will continue to patronize Ale House as my co workers and I have for years.
My husband and I took my daughter and a friend there for her birthday on Sunday and it was a huge disappointment from beginning to end. The hostess seated a party of 5 in front of us and never came back! Finally, one of the servers came and seated us at a booth and took drink orders. The coffee came and still no actual server or other drinks. In what seemed like forever, Brian came by and checked about our drinks and said he would take care of it. He eventually brought our drinks and through process of elimination decided "I guess I'll be your server".
We ordered lobster bisque, tuna melt, fish and chips, fish sandwich and the prime rib sandwich. Two with regular fries and 2 with sweet potato fries.
First off, the lobster bisque came in a HUGE shallow bowl filled with not hardly enough soup to fill a coffee cup. I guess they figure they can disguise the fact that you're not getting much by serving it in an over sized dish. The tuna melt was served as 2 open face sandwiches and my daughters friend  asked, what am I supposed to do with this, how am I supposed to eat it?!  The fish on the sandwich and as part of the fish & chips  was bland a greasy, although there was enough for 3 people in the basket. The prime rib sandwich was AWFUL! It came as a very thin slice of meat that was blackened. Now, I don't care much for prime rib, but I have never seen it grilled or blackened like this one. Way over cooked as well. The sweet potato fries were nothing to write home about and the regular fries were way under cooked.
As if it wasn't bad enough the food being horrible, the service was slow too and they weren't very busy. Brian brought our check when we said we were finished, and we waited for almost another ten minutes for him to come back. We ended up leaving our payment on the table and left without ever seeing him again.
I gave this place one star only because there wasn't a "no star" category. We won't be back.
