This place is actually pretty terrible, but I keep coming back.
The vibe is very "Miami-Douche," filled with male and lady bros. This is the place you come to and see a huge chunk of your high school graduating class. Bathrooms are filthy, which is understandable, considering I usually go on ladies nights, and these women can't hold their alcohol. Service is mediocre. I've waited on a table for over 20 minutes, just to have them forget about us and give the table to the next person in line.
The Zingers are delicious, though! This is what sets this place apart from Carolina Ale House, down the street. The Florentine Zingers are boneless wings, tossed in a garlic parmesan sauce, and topped with spinach dip, Monterrey jack and parmesan cheese, and diced tomatoes. They're my favorite ones and they never disappoint!
They have specials throughout the week, lots of televisions to watch the game, and because of it's location, it's a great place for some after-work drinks. I visited this Ale House location last week, and their new manager (I assume, considering I've never seen her before!) even came over to our table, to see if we were satisfied with our food and drinks. I've never seen that at any Ale House location in my life!
When it comes to hotel parking lot eateries, you can't get much better than this. For what it is, the Ale House is far superior to most anything else in the Doral strip.
By far the best bar in the area, backed up by standard bar food favorites. Nothing especially stands out food wise, but the portions (and the cost) are bigger than average.
It can get very crowded here, so come early to stake your claim to some property along the bar or a large table set up. The staff can get pretty overwhelmed when it's at overflow capacity, so plan accordingly with the orders (two for one PBRs!)
How I beg you to open an ale house in downtown Miami. Please oh please. Â I have always loved this bar/restaurant. Â I have never had a bad time here. Â They offer so many great drink specials throughout the week, it's a drinkers paradise. Â Want to catch a game, well this place offers great specials during games and plenty TVs to watch.
We came here because we were in the area and our daughter loves their chicken nachos.  It was mid Saturday afternoon so the parking was super easy.  This location really was impressive for us.  Super clean and our waiter.  His name was Jesus, and he was terrific  from start to finish.
We started with chicken nachos. Â OK Â this is a warning, they are huge, bigger than huge, shredded chicken big chunks on top of layers of fresh hot nachos, cheese, guacamole, tomatoes and sour cream and my favorite jalapenos. Â They are beyond delish.
Typical American food that I crave ever so often. Â Seeing how I am a huge carb sandwich person I ordered the chicken Philly sandwich with mushrooms, cheese, peppers and onions. Â And I thought Flanagan's offered a perfect chicken Philly, nope I found better. Â One thing that I appreciated so much is the fact that it was steaming hot, fresh ingredients, the chicken was excellent and the flavor of all combined was outstanding. Â The bread (hoagie) was also fantastic.
Hubby ordered Jambalaya which he loved.  We sat ate, had fun in this cool, casual bar scene with excellent service and great food.  It was an awesome lunch and we had plenty to  take home for dinner as well.  Three people before tip $52, I say yes please, fair prices.
They do such a great job here. Â I really was blown away by the service and great food. Â Next time I am in the area I know for sure where I will be stopping.
Great job!
So i went to the ale house in doral for the second time and i have to say that it was very disappointing. The service was horrible, we waited for about 40 minutes to get our food. I ordered the British Burger and my friend order some other burger, we could not eat the buns cause they were hard as a rock so we just ended up eating a very dry hamburger patty and the fries. The only thing i did enjoy was the raspberry tea. Wll not be going there again. I gave it a second chance and was disappointed again.
Review Source:Drinks here are pretty weak
Food is mediocore
Zinger Pizza (2/5) fresh but where was the topping?!?
Wings (1/5) Under-cooked or over-cooked
Margarita (2/5) tasted only margarita mix had to add many shots to it.... which added up in $$$
Kamikaze (1/5) seriously this is the most easiest drink to make. Â How can you fail this one, i will never know.
Hennessy with coke back (5/5) lol you cant go wrong with a straight shot and coke chaser.
I will give credit to our server, he was nice and tried to rush things for us though sometimes it took forever to get our orders... so 1 star for him.
overall meh.....
So here I am again. One more visit to my favorite afterwork stop. It sure beats the 5 o'clock traffic jam. But that's just an added plus, because the food, drinks & service are great.
We come here so often that the bartenders know us by name, know our drinks and our food selection by heart.
I have lots of love for the Ale House!
They have tvs, there's that.
The service was horrible. I ordered a salad with no chicken. Not complicated, right? What I got was chopped lettuce, a scoop of tomatoes, and dressing. When I finally got the attention of the waiter I pointed out that the salad should also have beans, corn, salsa, and grilled peppers. He stared at me, then finally said "my hands are full." he walked away and I sat there, stunned. I couldn't eat anyway since he forgot utensils. Finally, 5 minutes later he came and grabbed my salad. 10 minutes after that he brought the same salad back with LITERALLY a few beans, a few kernels of corn and CHICKEN ... I asked for one thing: no meat. And I got chicken added, and MAYBE a few pieces of vegetables.
This service was terrible. The food didn't make up for it either. It was old, room temperature, and tasteless. The waiter disappeared, never to be seen again, so I left my money on the table and left, unable to finish my meal.
I will NEVER go back. I went to meet a friend to watch the game but there are better alternatives everywhere. I cannot believe so many people were there. They must have been too drunk to notice.
I am a regular here. Most of the bartenders know my friends & I...
Obviously, I love the place. Something about the atmosphere makes me happy. Could be that I'm usually with good friends & getting my happy hour on, but I don't question it.
The Zinger Mountain Melt is oh-so-good. Its basically loaded fries with Zingers on top. Sauced any way you like them... Â I will admit... it used to be more of a "mountain". They have decreased the amount of fries in the last year or so... I am assuming that this is due to the fact that ppl would leave a lot of fries on the plate. If you dont eat it quickly enough, the fries under the Zingers will get greasy & soggy. This is a plate that you always want to share. Please DO NOT attempt to eat this on your own! Unless you just dont give a crap about calories... Or you dont mind a tummy ache later... Just don't say I didnt warn ya...
I have a couple of other faves here, the Fresh Fish sandwich (I usually order the Blackened Mahi Mahi. You can choose from Grouper or Mahi and you can have it blackened, grilled, broiled or fried), the Southwest Bistro Steak Salad, the Buffalo Shrimp, the Bistro Burger, the Mini Burgers... Overall, this is bar food, people... Gets the job done & I think its YUMMO!
The drink specials are pretty good. No 2 for 1's but, hey, you cant have it all...
I wouldn't call it the fanciest place in town, but if you're looking to have a drink for a good voice, this is the place to go!I 'm generally there for no longer than a couple of hours, have a couple of drinks at the bar and then keep on going with my night.
As a sports bar, it serves its purpose. The vibe is always good. There are TVs all around so you can catch pretty much every sport that's being played at the time. I haven't been when there is a Heat game on, but I hear it gets pretty packed. If you don't like crowded places, you might want to avoid it on those days.
It has two areas, the main one is inside, there are booths all around the bar, the outside are, which is covered, has tables instead. It is awesome for bar hopping or regrouping.
I didn't give it a higher rating because of the bathroom situation. It is a mess most of the times.
Went bar hopping around Doral and this was 1 of the few bars Doral has. I enjoyed my "Mango Kiss" special drink. The place had a good vibe and it was crowded but not like crowded like walking out of the theater when the movie is over.
Just go on a Saturday Night. It's worth the trip!
Quick Tip: Don't Valet parking, just park in the business next door and walk 34 more steps.
Holy Wednesday night parking nightmare! By the looks of this place's popularity, I have to assume there's not a whole lot happening in the way of Doral nightlife.
We came here to celebrate a certain special occasion for one of my BFFs. I love sports bars, so this place is totally up my alley. Plenty of TVs, a MASSIVE drink menu and lots of bad-for-you bar food.
Our waitress was totally friendly, and put up with our incessant requests for picture taking. They have "light lemon drop" martinis on the menu, a concept I dug. I sipped on several, and they were quite delightful. We also had some chips, salsa and guac, which was also tasty. My friends all loved their drinks as well.
I'm sure we'll be back here for some late night fun when we feel like doing it in Doral.
Staying in the area and my traveling partner was being a pain about what to eat so we drove around a bit and came to this place. Â The menu was very large with a huge variety and great prices and specials and so it was.
Fantastic drink specials on that Monday included $2.50 shots and $5 double shots of many popular brand name liquors so I went w/ a double Captain Morgan w/ a splash of coke, perfect. Â They also had a 5 beer bucket for only $7.95!!!! Yes, for all 5....too bad it was only Miller products which we are not fans of. Â
After perusing the menu a bunch of times, I went with the zinger tacos (boneless buffalo chicken pieces) which came with wild rice (strange) and black beans. They were 3 good, filling tacos, typical bar stuff. My partner had the Oriental chicken w/ mashed potatoes and cole slaw, good portion that she really enjoyed. Â
Nice bar atmosphere, good service. Lots of tvs to view all over the restaurant. Â They even turned on the Yankees game as per our request. Good place to go if your looking for good, filling, casual food that wont break the budget.
Lousy phone etiquette. Lousy to- go service. Food was pretty sub-par for the type of restaurant the Ale House bills itself as. It would be nice if they got orders right. Even after I got through (after getting hung up on twice) and they read the order back to me, it was still wrong. When did "well done" become "nearly raw"?
Having traveled to Doral on business, I stayed at the Holiday Inn on Galloway, which was less than a mile from where I was working. At the front of the hotel is a small strip in which the Doral (Miller's) Ale House is located. The second night I was there, I decided to give the place a try (especially after the previous night's raw chicken fiasco from Publix). I wanted to order something to bring back to the room as it had been a long day.
The first call took twenty rings to get answered and the guy sounded like I had interrupted his smoke break or something. I only wanted to know a price since their website didn't have any listed (and I wasn't sure how expensive they were going to be). Not only did he sound exasperated that I called, but he didn't know any prices. I thanked him and hung up and then went looking for someplace else. But I decided to go ahead and order from here.
So I called back... three times. The first call took another twenty rings before anyone answered. And this guy was impossible to understand. I explained I wanted to place an order and he said something and put the phone down. I'm generally a patient guy and I don't know why I stayed on the line for eight minutes... just to have the phone hung up on me. I called back again and they simply picked up and hung up without speaking.
I REALLY did  not feel like hopping back into the car and driving around looking for someplace to eat. And room service seemed very pricey. So, masochist that I am, called back. This time I was answered immediately by a cheery, easily understood woman who very politely took my order. They should put her in charge of teaching the others on phone etiquette.
I walked the 50 yards to the restaurant from the hotel and went in. There is no signs directing to-go customers to go to the bar, so I waited by the door (where 99% of the restaurants in the U.S. of this type ask you to wait to be seated). Oh sure, the staff looked at me several times, but it was ten minutes before anyone finally asked me anything.
I picked up my order and returned to the hotel. I had ordered a well-done steak. I emphasized the "well-done" part on the phone. She assured me it would be "well-done" and even had cautioned me that it would take longer to cook. The steak I got looked pretty good, but it was nearly raw on the inside. And I HATE that.
The vegetables were tasteless. Eating fake decorative vegetables would've been better. The baked potato was okay, but I noticed that they must use a toothpick to dole out the butter and sour cream because the two little containers' contents were non-existent, or at least nearly so.
Miller's Ale House looks great in its online presence, but the reality of the place leaves a lot to be desired. I certainly won't be paying the location another visit anytime soon. Not unless they tear it down and put up an Outback or something. The prices are on par with other establishments, but food quality and service are below standard.
What can I say...MAH does it again! Stepped right in off the street, was shown to a table right away, and Mike M. came a calling. Smart, funny, and totally the right guy for the job. It's not always the food that brings them back, it's the service...and Mike made that happen. Settled into a cup of couch soup with a dash of Tabasco, followed by half a doz oysters...cold and sweet. The Gold Margarita was perfect as well. Main course was the Mahi Mahi panned seared in EVOO with a lemon and wine picatta sauce and placed on top of garlic sauteed spinach. Add steamed broccoli and the meal was outstanding.
So yes, Miller's Ale House is the best place in Doral for dinner...for drinks, for sports. I'll be back!!
-Food is ok but don't expect gourmet cooking portions are big.
-Drinks it is what it is an ale house good prices large selection and good deal.
-Uniforms are C- Â standard server uniforms nothing special there boring really.
-Lights and sound standard lights are good not too bright sound is standard nothing special just for back ground music. Really more about the TV's here this place has allot of TV's more of a sports bar.
-Lounge big indoors bar and big outdoors bar nice place for a casual beer.
Ill remove some stars because the crowd here is not what it was before its gone down a bit.
My favorite spot in Doral. Good bar food, friendly staff and cheap drinks. Now they have an outdoors spot. Very cool place to get your football on. College or NFL. UFC and MMA. Also, Big time Miami Heat joint too.
I like the daily specials and their drinks are double for a few bucks more. The bartenders are funny, one or two of the chicks shoud not be there, they are a bit bitchy and a snobby cubanita, but the rest of the crew is awesome.
What I like about the place too is that you can go to one ale house or go to ten different ones and they all have the same lay out. So you never feel lost. Too many of those doubles and you need to know wtf is you at...
Will keep coming back
Wow!!! Major facelift!
They have now created an outdoor terrace bar. Very nice sized bar with tables on the side and about a dozen flatscreens. We sat outside and had a nice time, especially now with the cooler temperatures in affect. This is a great addition and improvement to the ale house. Smokers no longer have to leave the bar to go outside. Plus, we now have the option of sitting in an indoor or outdoor bar. Only con is that they removed the hightops and pool table to make room for the new outdoor space. I'm not missing it one bit, I love the new outdoor sitting space. Great for game watching and happy hour! Good call...
Ps and the bathrooms have been improved as well.
The only reason why I go here is for a birthday celebration or when I have an event happening across the street at JC Bermudez Park, and need a quick bite.
Their chicken wings aren't good... Maybe I'm spoiled by Flannigan's amazing wings, but these just do not even satisfy my appetite.
I will tell you this, their Chicken Stickers are good and their loaded fries as well. I'm just a girl that likes to chew on a chicken wang!
For dessert make sure to get the Captain's Treasure Chest, or whatever the name is... Now that's worth a trip to the Doral Ale House. I think I even dream of that dessert. It has vanilla ice cream, brownie, Heath bar crumbs, caramel and more awesomeness. If I want to break my diet, this is where I pick up my guilty pleasure...
Usually, I love the Ale House and will search for the closest one in whatever city I may find myself in. The Doral Ale House has the same good food and great drink specials and the Bar and Waite staff are excellent, but this is the only Ale House, I've been too, that has a Valet in the Men's Bathroom? It's not the fact that they have a guy camped out in front of the sinks trolling for tips to wash your hands; it's because they were surly, grumpy and rude.... It has now got to the point, when I go there, instead of staying and watching the whole game, I'll leave when I need to go to the bathroom.
I still love the Ale House, but please free the man in the Doral House Bathroom so i can watch the rest of the game...
As much as I would love to still hate this place I must say they have taken into consideration people's complaints or just changed management in general.
It doesn't have that funky smell anymore, it seems brighter and cleaner. Prices as always pretty good and they downsized the menu in a good way.
I had the Conch Chowder, as always delish unfortunately less hot (spicy)than before, but there is Tabasco sauce on the table, and I had a Philly Cheese Steak (sans cheese) with peppers, onions and mushrooms. VERY GOOD! Since this was my 'off' day I coupled that with a Newcastle. Good stuff.
Kudos on improving, I will be back for sure.
Went there for Friday post-work/ last day at work celebrations yesterday...good times! We had called for reservations and were a little late and they gave up our 17 people table. :( So in the end we had to sit in two booths back to back. Oh well.
Tonnes of TV screens for all types of sports....the place was packed with people working in Doral..and families eating on the left side of the restaurant. The bar area was in the middle and the high tables were towards the back/right side. Waitress was friendly and on top of things for most part...considering the madness in the place on a Heat game night!
Hostess was not very friendly....we had asked her to take a group picture of us and she wasn't very nice. Grouchy face. Food was decent...but the group collectively thought every dish was a little bit too salty. I ordered mussels di zuppa....come with bread. Decent portion, tasty sauce with bread for dipping. Chicken nachos were good...waiter was good with refilling salsa/sour cream for dipping. Spinach and artichoke dip is good for sharing!
Good specials...5 beers for $10 and other drink specials! I suppose if you are drinking for cheap....everything is good! :) Crowd wise...older men...and families. I suppose it's a regular sports/neighborhood bar!
Tip-bits:
Read the specials menu before you order! ($1 margaritas till 7pm, at least on Fridays)
Free valet, only tips
More parking at BOA next door
5 stall in the bathroom
Tables are not movable, so stand up if you are in a big group.
Make reservations but don't count on them to be there if you run late.
Doral ale house on Tuesday night is ladies night, ladies drink free from 10pm-2 am! What more can I say? The crowd is always live, sometimes waiting up to an hour - 1 1/2 hr for a high top. Themusic is just as live as the people. Great food, really cheap and overall a great place to hang with some friends.
Thursday - Ladies Night is in Kendall Ale House
As far as Ale Houses go, if you've been to one you've been to them all. Â Inside they are designed to take out of where ever you are and put your brain into bar mode. Â Doral is no different, except for having an issue with the lack of parking, this location puts out adequate bar food at adequate prices. Â
I ventured on a big game day, the SEC Championship, and was surprised how easy it was to be seated. Â Sure we had to sit at a booth, instead of a taller table with stools, but the amount of televisions made it easy to watch the game from any seat. Â From what I saw from the bar the beers on draft selection was very impressive having about 12 different taps. Â Food for the game is difficult to measure up, since you will be spending a longer time then just a regular sit down and eat. Â None of us had an entree, wings, sliders, & loaded fries were the choice of the table. Â The food was mediocre but put enough ranch sauce on anything and it becomes tasty. Â
Overall I say pass, there's better food at more dedicated non franchise restaurants, the benefit of Ale House is it's size. Â If you're running late this would be a safe option for a table.
I don't understand why so many people don't like this place! The food is good, the prices are good, and you can't beat their happy hour deals!
I've been going to the Ale House all around Florida for years. Mostly in Orlando with my former Disney coworkers. Most recently I rediscovered my passion for the Ale House in Miami while on a three-month business trip. I was very excited to see the beautiful bold red-letter sign signaling this awesome restaurant.
You get what you pay for at the Ale House, and what you're paying for is sports bar food. Don't expect silver platters and fancy stemware, the plastic cups and shellacked wooden tables are what gives the Ale House its character!
The Ale House is not without its faults. First off, previous reviews are correct when criticizing the wait staff. They're not the most well-trained group around and service is hit-or-miss. However one of the managers at the Doral Ale House is awesome. If I remember correctly, his name is JD. I went in one Saturday night to catch an Auburn Football game when he stopped by my table introduced himself, gave me his business card, and told me to call him whenever I needed to see another game! Can't ask for better service than that! The other con is their salads. It's a sports bar, folks, they don't do salads well.
What I'm trying to say is, the Ale House is not for everyone. But if you want a laid back environment with a ton of TVs, good food at a great price, look no further than the Ale House!!
I have to agree with Christie P. on her review. This place is definitely blah.
I have been to both the Doral and Kendall Ale Houses and they're BOTH the same.
The beer selection is whatever. The food is forgettable, actually, the whole experience is forgettable.
Also, I think I've found a more appealing replacement: Flanigans!!
Went to the Doral Ale house last night and all I have to say is "meh."
We went bc my husband's uncle was in town and staying at the Intercontinental down the block and he just wanted to go somewhere close by with good beer. Well, Ale house fit that bill.
I used to always come to the Ale House when it first opened and I was in college. Â Back then, I loved their food! Â I mean, not loved loved, but it was pretty decent bar food. Â Last night, the food didn't thrill me. Â The unbreaded chicken wings were okay, the zingers okay, and the Captain Jacks wasn't the same..almost soggy, if that is even possible for an icecream cake? Â I don't know howto explain it, but it just wasn't the same crunchy Captian Jacks I used to crave.
The beer was also just ok, we each got a different beer on tap, and NONE Of the beers were very cold. Â Big no no in my book.
I know I'll be back for a game or something on the future, but will it be my choice to go...no =/
Some coworkers and I ate here today. I am so disappointed. I got there at about 11:30 AM and the parking lot was literally empty. Great. I ordered a strawberry virgin daiquiri, very good, while we were waiting for others to arrive. Our 1st server was polite and attentive. We ended up switching tables in a different section and we got stuck with the fat lazy server. It took him about 10-15 minutes to take our order. I had a baked potato summer salad with Mahi mahi on top and no blue cheese. After waiting about 10-15 minutes, we had to ask him to bring out the appetizer (chips and spinach dip). It did taste good, but I have had better. We finally get our food, my salad has blue cheese on it. When I say that my order is wrong, he proceeds to question me about it. Not cool. I finally get all of my food and it tasted really good.
Then our waiter gives us the bill and does not split up the orders. A good waiter will pick up on certain things and will ask if the bill is to be separated.
Other than that, my bill was just under $19 for everything. Not bad. I was so disappointed with the service I gave the fat lazy waiter a $2 tip.
One thing I noticed is there is not "host/hostess booth/desk" for customers to meet the host at. It causes a back up of customers at the front door  and makes entering and exiting the restaurant a little annoying.
I went here with a friend for dinner on a Sunday night...All we wanted was to have a pitcher of beer and some food in a laid back restaurant, and this place fits the bill. This establishment  is part of the "Miller's Ale House" chain, and is similar to the ones in Hollywood, Davie, Lauderdale, etc.  We had a pitcher, a HUGE appetizer, one of us had a steak, the other 1/2 rack of ribs.  The food was really tasty, the waitress was great and service was good.  We got to watch the Marlins game and the Olympics and our combined bill was about $50.00.  Sold!
Review Source:People hate on this place, as previous reviews show. Â I've only been going there for lunch. Â I wouldn't dare utilize this place as an evening destination. Â C'mon!
Maybe I would do happy hour for a round or two.
I've been going there to catch up on some Euro Cup soccer action during my lunch break. Â The food is o.k. Â They have lunch and drink specials everyday, so you could totally justify going there instead of fast food, if you needed to sneak out of the office and catch up on some sports, like me!
