1862 Room

Enjoyed a nice breakfast at the 1862 room last weekend while staying at the Coral Gables Westin Colonnade.

A very nice selection of high end fresh fruits (including many tropical varieties), breakfast meats, made-to-order waffles and omelettes.  

I found the staff to be very courtesy and prompt, even in a "buffet" atmosphere (weekend only).

If you are staying at the Westin Colonnade, or nearby in Coral Gables, this is a great upscale yet still casual place to enjoy breakfast / brunch.

I recommend you visit this bar if you enjoy a great mojito, Robert the bartender makes the best mojitos ive ever had ( and im cuban)
I love the Bacardi posters and overall feel of the place. The plantain nachos were delicious! Very creative. We ended up having 2 orders :)

The gf and I had plans to meet some friends for drinks. They suggested the 1862 Room inside the Westin Colonnade and we were eager to explore a new spot.

The 1862 Room is sponsored by Bacardi. As a result, the room is covered with vintage Barcardi posters, fun facts about their history, and black and white photos from their early days. Although we didn't try the food, we sampled several of the drinks from their beverage menu. From the passion fruit margaritas to the Manhattan with a twist, the drinks were potent and delectable.

They offer a wide range of Bacardi rums (at least 10), as well as various Bacardi products (Grey Goose, Dewers, etc.).

Although it wasn't crowded, it was nice to hang out in a more intimate setting, away from the distractions on Miracle Mile, where we could carry on a conversation while enjoying tasty libations.
