Fresh, fresh, deliciousness. Â We had the garlic shrimp, big juicy, tender, messy bits of peel-your-own shrimp. Â Service was laid back, it's a food truck with a killer location. Â Don't expect to stop here and pull up to the drive in, it ain't jack in the box, folks. Â Food was so fresh, made to order. Â It took a little while but it was worth the wait. Â They provide shaded picnic tables, and the killer views. Â Also, there is a big deep sink, with fresh running water and fragrant hand soap, in a field near the truck, so that you may clean off all the messy delicious garlic butter shrimp remnants from your face and hands! Â It's kinda hidden in the bushes so you can have a little privacy while cleaning out from under your fingernails! Â I'm so happy to see that, don't wanna drive all over Oahu with dirty face and hands! Â I also had a frozen drink with chocolate and coconut, non alcoholic. Â My son got a chilled coconut, they chopped the top off for him, gave him a straw, 30 minutes later, nothing was left of that coconut except the shell. Â We would love to go back here someday and try the chicken. Â It smelled really good, but we were in a shrimp mood.
Review Source:Just got back from our trip to Hawaii and had two great experiences at Monkey Mike's! The shrimp was awesome but the pork with smoked salmon salsa was my favorite. Â My son loved his smoothie and us adults enjoyed the byob. Tried a nearby "better known" restaurant and would go to Mikes every-time. Beansie was our man and showed us how to enjoy our food the "right way"!
Review Source:This place was GREAT!
I asked for a combo that wasn't on the menu and they were happy to serve with no hesitation. Their Kalua pork is cooked traditionally underground, their shrimp was really juicy and the serving size was adequate. The crew was friendly, taught us how to eat the shrimp like the locals. Don't forget to ask for their spicy sauce, waiting for them to bottle it so I can ship to the Mainland.
