We had the $17.00 Margherita pizza and thought is was only okay.  I would like to say it was good for bar food, but I've been to bars where the food is more fantastic than a  high end / high priced restaurant.  The sauce reminded my boyfriend of Chef Boyardee Ravioli (which I like, just not on pizza for $17.00) Pesto sauce was drizzed on top - nice different design flare, but I found myself missing this pizza's main sauce to be pesto (not tomato sauce)
We also had the frito appetizer = fried cheese circles with tomato slices & drizzled balsalmic - not too bad - not greasy as some fried apps can be - kinda a cheese stick / caprese salad hybrid / twist --- but nothing special for the $7.00 it cost.
That being said, looking around the room, the sandwiches looked mouthwatering - Fri Fish Fry looked good too... so maybe It was just my experience with the pizza that was so - so. Â Bar's don't traditionally have the best Za, but this being a place with Italian advertised cuisine, I was hopeful when I ordered.
Staff was amazing though - Extremely Friendly and very attentive.  Atmosphere - eh - your basic cheesy bar / lounge / leftover supper club look -- although there looked to be a really nice couch area - so maybe they are trying to update the décor?
Wouldn't go back since this cost us $30.00 with a few sodas, but perhaps their sandwiches are the way to go --- I have been 'burned' by bar pizza only to love sammiches they offer. Â But, with so many options in downtown Waukesha, personally, I'm not sure I'll chance this again.
While our bartender was friendly she had no experience and that was about to be the least of our concerns. Â We decided to go after encountering their tent at Friday Night Live. Â We get in and order beers and ask for food menus. Â We look them over and decide to order pizza because we thought it looked good at Friday Night Live. Â We find out momentarily that the boss is at a meeting and the only cook they have can only make appetizers. Â We were of course disappointed. Â We decided to give them a chance and finished our beers before leaving. Â We were offered no free drinks or food or discounts. Â We finally were the last of ten people to leave the restaurant without eating. Â The bartender recommended another bar down the street if we wanted an actual meal so we went there instead. Â We were very disappointed overall.
Review Source:The lunch special is a spectacular deal and delicious. You must try their rolls. But I can't say the same for my dinner experience. Too many things trying to go on at one time. There were two performers playing in the establishment and the lounge/dining is very odd. I suggest making one area all lounge and another all dining instead of spread out through the whole. The games should also all occupy one area so as to not disturb diners. Our service was rather slow and it seems we were forgotten about and it wasn't that busy of an evening. The pizza was really tasty and my chicken marsala was good, but the ambiance really threw us off.
Review Source:We were only one of three tables occupied there (so hardly a busy time), but the waitress had a lot of trouble remembering our order, utensils and my son's crayons. Â The food took 40 minutes to arrive, and the owner came out to apologize for the delay and offered us a round of complimentary drinks, citing breaking in a new cook who burnt our chicken. Â The food ended up tasting great, but still NOT worth the wait and having a scatterbrained waitress. Â The waitress was completely ditzy, she ended up handing us the bill without any pricing listed! Â That must have been her first day as a waitress, PERIOD! Â She wasn't mindful until it was time for the check and then she apologized for all the problems and watched carefully over us as we wrote in the tip. Â We have her a 20% tip anyway, knowing that her days as a waitress was limited and Lord knows she needs the help. Â We feel sorry for the owner who was the only one who seemed to know what he was doing, but hires bad help.
Review Source:I was in town for business and decided to come here for dinner. Â I ended up sitting at the bar to eat and watch some sports. Â The staff was extremely friendly, and the food was great. Â I had the fettuccine alfredo with grilled shrimp. Â The shrimp was absolutely delicious; the alfredo sauce was decent - not the best I've had, but still very good. Â They also have a pool table with looked to be in very good shape, and a shuffle board. Â Seems like a great place to hang out after hours as well.
Review Source:Went here on a Wednesday night while staying in downtown Waukesha. Fellow Yelper reviews led me here, so I thought I would add to the positive reviews. Sat at the bar because I was the only customer and Dale, the owner and cook, came out, took my order, and made an excellent wine pairing suggestion with my chicken marsala. Mushrooms were savory and succulent while the chicken and noodles were nomtastic. The chicken dumpling soup that came with the meal also complimented the cold weather quite nicely. Atmosphere was one part bar while the other half was an attractive lounge. Just passing through for the moment, but definitely recommend locals and travelers alike check out this great restaurant!
Review Source:Looks very cool and trendy from the outside but little disappointed by the indoor decor. Â Plastic table cloths? Â Yuck. Â The bar area as you enter seems very cool and trendy, but then the pool room area seems thrown together and not well thought out. Â It seems they decorated with a family artist and a few things they found at local rummage sales. Â Good thing the food made up for this. Â The menu wasn't very impressive with the offerings. Â It's like they can't decide what they want to be. Â A high end Italian restaurant or a cheap middle of the road Italian spot. Â We met for a weekday lunch. Â The place was dead. Â It did just open and took awhile to even find it on yelp. Â The service was quick and attentive. Â We ordered the Fritto Fior de Latte to start with. Â Yum! Â Beautiful presentation and it was delish! Â We both ordered the bruschetta chicken sandwich. Â This was also delish! Â The chicken was very tender and flavorful. Â We were both very pleasantly surprised and satisfied with our selections. Â The chef stopped to visit and asked if we were enjoying our lunch which was a nice touch:) Â We would recommend the Montecito and like to visit again to try an evening entree. Â Hopefully they'll make a few decor changes for the better to improve the ambiance.
Review Source:I never go out of my way to review anything but this testaurant I must. Â Mind you I am still sitting in the nicely and newly decorated lounging area of the restaurant as we decided to continue our conversation after lunch. This restaurant just became my favorite place in Waukesha. Â I had the fish fry with their signature breading and it was excellent. Â The crab chowder was also outstanding. Â We were served by the owner. Â She obviously knew the menu and the recommendations where right on. Â I am coming back as soon as I finish digesting. :)
