Big yellow building, CANT miss it lol.

Host/Hostess and waitresses were all very pleasant and up beat.  We were seated immediately and asked to be closer to the TVs to catch the Bruins game. We ordered some appetizers and Guinness while waiting for the game and to order dinner.  We got the Irish Spring Rolls with a side of honey mustard sauce which was really good! I think its a little mixture of corned beef and potatoes inside the little roll, only 3 rolls cut but perfect for two people.  We also got the vinegar chips and french onion dip, and while I do love homemade chips, I couldn't taste the "vinegar" but they were still good!

About 5 minutes before the game begins, the satellite went out and therefore the game wouldn't come on.  Obviously not the bars fault but it def killed the mood and ended up with customers leaving, it was a playoff game!! Although we wanted to leave too, we at least wanted to order dinner first before we went back home to watch the game on cable. (I blame the rain!!!).

My fiance ordered the bangers and mash and I got the beef stew, classic Irish dishes.  He loved the bangers and mash along with whatever gravy they used on it.  My beef stew, while the sauce itself was delicious, when I went to bite into a piece of beef  I immediately noticed it was cold, the potatoes were warm but the beef was just room temperature. When the waitress came over I let her know and she apologized up and down about it and asked if there was something else on the menu I'd like, or if I'd like a new plate of the same dish - I wanted the same dish.  This time when she came back with the plate it was steaming!!! I don't think I've ever seen a beef stew dish have so much steam coming off of it before in my life.  So obviously the cooks wanted to prove a point but also, I think it was a bit ridiculous.  I waited a good 10 minutes before digging into my plate.  Still delicious, but too hot, I ended up taking the rest of the plate home to eat.

The cool thing about this bar is the tables with the taps on top.  Different tables have different beer selections, so if you're not drinking beer or the table doesn't have your drink of choice, I recommend you sit somewhere else so people that do like those beers can enjoy them.  The waitress did warn us that the price add up quick when people have the ability to pour their own.  The tap allows 2 drinks per person and you let her know when you want more and she'll up you another 2. Whatever you don't drink, you don't pay for - that simple!  I'd like to go back and sit there some time, so we'll see!!

A personal tap at your table?? Sign this chick up!  SOLD!

I think the novelty of pouring your own drinks with friends is a great concept!  There are five self-serve draft tables, each with two taps;  Guinness paired with either Harp, Blue Moon, Narragansett, or Smithwicks.

My friends and I sat at the Guinness and Harp table top. It took this novice a few tries to pour my own beer correctly, but once I got the hang of it, black and tans were at my disposal!

The pub food was surprisingly good, we ordered wraps and a burger.

It's a great place to watch a game (the Bruins were on the night we went) and if you stay long enough on the weekends, you'll catch a DJ or live music.  There was a DJ the night I went, and it the music was right up my ally but later on in the night I wasn't feeling the selection as much and could take it or leave it.

Either way, I can't wait to make my next black and tan!

Tonight was the fourth time I've eaten at Muphy's Law, and unless something changes, it is the last. I liked it the first and second time, I brought my wife there for Mothers Day and it was okay, but not as good as the first two. We were hoping tonight would be a great night out, seeing as it's Thursday, before a long weekend. In short, it wasn't. Our waiter, Kyle, was abrupt and inattentive. The rest room smelled disgusting, the table and seat were grimy, and the atmosphere just seemed stale. I went so far as to ask Kyle if the management was getting tired of running the place and he unabashedly said yes. I had a Guiness that tased watery, and ordered the lasagna which came with a salad. The salad was okay, but the lasagna, well, I've had better out of a can. Note to kitchen staff, ketchup is not an acceptable ingredient for sauce. I had to flag down Kyle to get him to bring grated cheese, as it didn't occur to him to ask if we needed anything. My wife had a wrap that was oozing balsamic vinegar and she couldn't taste anything else.
All in all, this meal had me hoping to vomit later.

I love the self serving bar tap tables. Great gimmick.. Just wish they had more. The boyfriend and I checked this out last weekend and had such a great experience. Our waitress was fabulous and very helpful and attentive. The food was pretty good as well.

    Well be back for sure!

I want to start by saying that I really wanted to like this place. I really REALLY wanted to like it. My group and I tried to come here on St. Patricks Day and were told we'd have an hour wait (which was expected, we weren't upset), so we bypassed it and went to Fat Belly's instead which turned out to be a horrid experience, so I was excited tonight when we decided to give it another try.

I'll start with how when we walked in the door we probably stood at the hostess station for a handful of minutes before someone came to seat us. We had a group of five and instead of sitting us at the (empty) tap table which had more than enough seats to accommodate us, our waiter (whos name I can not for the life of me remember right now) sat us at a four person table and just threw an extra chair on at the end. He then seemed mighty impatient to get our drink orders which resulted in us just ordering the first thing we saw on the menu that looked appealing (for me and my friend a glass of Riesling, which did not taste like Riesling, but more like Pinot Grigio, for my boyfriend a beer. my friend got a mixed drink with iced tea in it and her boyfriend a Guinness). This is where our bad luck started. My boyfriends beer had some white mass floating in the bottom of his cup with what can only be described as schmegma all over the side of the cup.We then ordered food. I have a serious aversion to drum sticks and I was craving buffalo wings so I asked our server to only have them give me the other pieces and he told me that he couldn't take a special order and I was going to have to deal with 5 and 5. When I asked why he told me he didn't make the rules and I couldn't have it any other way. I've never been to a restaurant who told me I couldn't do this, Ever. We also ordered a plate of the "Celtic Knots" which were pretzels with a Guinness cheese sauce. When our food came the wings were delicious even though I only ate the pieces I wanted and not the drumsticks that I didn't want. However, the pretzels tasted like the ones I sometimes buy from the frozen foods section at Stop & Shop that you throw in the oven for seven minutes, except harder and with less flavor. For seven bucks for four small pretzels I would think a customer deserves more than a frozen pretzel out of a box. The cheese was delicious, though.

Our waiter then came over with our check in his hand, then said "Oh. Did you want to order anything else?" and we all kind of just shook our heads at him wordlessly because while asking us this he was holding out our check which he then placed on the table and muttered "no rush" as he walked away.

I am a famous over tipper and this is only the third time in my life I've left less than a 20% tip, the second being on St. Patrick's Day at Fat Bellys, which was actually a worse experience than this. I was dying to try this place, and I was dying to love this place...and unfortunately I will never step foot in this place again. Sadly it's only a two minute drive from my house, if this experience was better you guys could have expected our usual group of six to become regulars.

Not sure if it was an off night but the place smelled like a sewer, especially the bathrooms.  It was so bad we had to leave.  I got a chance to get a reuben first.  Worst one I've ever had..fatty and thick slices of corned beef.  Only a few fries and a stinky pickle.  Not impressed.  The atmosphere looks nice but not rushing back.

Murphy's Law is the kind of place where the girlfriend and I enjoyed our dinner while sitting next to eachother on the same side of the booth. It's not because it's such a romantic place; it's because there was a playoff game on tv and we both wanted to watch. There were tvs all over the place making this a great pub to watch a game.

We didn't sit at one of their draft tables, but that's more gimmick than actual draw for me. If you want to work on pouring a perfect pint of Guiness then I guess this is your place, but I'm more than fine with sitting at a normal table and waiting for my beer to arrive. They do have a few good beer selections in addition to the usuals. I went with a Stone IPA, one of my favorites.

The food itself was fine, but nothing special. The crab and spinach cheese dip appetizer didn't have much in the way of crab in it, but you can't really go wrong when you're dipping chips into a plate of melted cheese. There was nothing wrong with my shepherd's pie, but the one we make at home is probably better. I'd say our food was good enough and it was priced right, but it's nothing to write home (or write yelp) about.

When I'm torn between giving a place 3 or 4 starts I think about if I plan on going back or not. Murphy's Law is getting 4 stars from me because I'd have no problem going back. Good beer, a big game on tv, and some good enough food make for a fine place in my book.

Better than i expected. I went with a few friends and we walked in to a really good Irish band playing. we sat ourselves a tap table which was awesome because it was so busy i didnt think we had a shot. The service was good. I shyed away from the apps due to the reviews on yelp saying they werent so good although my buddy ordered the wings and they looked really good. I went with the waking ned devine and if that wasn't the best burger i ever ate it was pretty close and my friend said the same thing. If you love a good hamburger you have to go to Murphy's law and treat your taste buds.I was impressed enough to get the rewards card.I find as i am writing this review i need a Murphy's law burger right now.

This review is for the bar, only.  I met up with approximately 15 friends at Murphy's Law.  We had it pre-planned so we had already given the staff a heads-up so they hooked us up with a long row of high-top tables.  It was perfect!  The service was excellent and the beer selection was quite impressive.  The band...well....that was kinda odd.  They started playing and then stopped.  Then another band came in, set up, played one set, and then they left, too.  By 11:00, the live music was done for the night.  Again, just kinda odd.  Worked out for the best though because that gave us less noise to compete with while we all chatted.

I will be back in RI in March and will likely plan another meet-up at Murphy's.

Sadly i didn't get to sit at a coveted tap table... but i did get to sit a  regular table. I ordered the Fried Pickles to start. Basically it was a regular old pickle spear which tasted like it was just wrapped in greasy fried dough. This was a little underwhelming as was the sauce which accompanied them. I ended up just taking the fried bits off and eating the pickle alone...

For my dinner i ordered the Cobb Salad. The mix of Ham, Irish Bacon, and turkey which was really dry and tasted sour left alot to be desired. I was so hungry at that point i decided to take off all the meat and only ended up with the lettuce. The server noticed the huge pile of left over salad which was still on my plate but didn't ask if anything was wrong when i asked him to throw it all away.

I'm not really sure what i expected of Murphy's Law... but i guess the real Murphy's Law (if anything can go wrong it probably will) rang true for me here....

Great place!  I've been twice now.  I saw the review in ProJo and knew that it would be perfect for when my Guinness-loving dad came to town.

Just in case, I made a reservation for a tap table, not knowing how crowded it would be. Making a reservation was easy and the staff was friendly and helpful. We got a table with Guinness and Harp and my dad and my brother made their own back-and-tans. There is a handy "how to pour a pint of Guinness" guide right at the table. The beer is ice-cold. The food was excellent.  If you like pub fare, you'll like the food at Murphy's Law. My dad is still talking about the Waking Ned Devine burger.

We made plans to go back before we even paid the bill.  I've recommended Murphy's Law to all my friends. Their eyes usually glaze over in wonder when I mention the taps at the tables.

Really cool setup for viewing sports on the many t.v's. Im sure this place would be great for live acts as the layout is mostly bar and high tables easily in view of stage area. Did not try the food but the menu looked very good, was hoping to see some irish curry sauce dishes but no dice. Ill definatly make a point to sit at one of the beer tap tables next visit.

Saw the write up about it in the Providence Journal's new restaurant guide and as soon as I saw taps on the table I was very interested to try it. We came on a Tuesday and it wasn't too crowded which was great so we could get one of the tap tables!!

I tried the Waking Ned Devine Burger which was fantastic and cooked perfectly. My friend got the Reuben and his girlfriend got the Corn Beef and Cabbage which came with I am pretty sure 1/2 a cow, 1/2 head of cabbage, and a field of boiled potatoes. They both liked their meals as well.

The tap table was alot of fun. I didn't need to wait for a drink and I got to practice my Guinness pour...sadly I couldn't make the clover leaf. You are not charged by the drink but instead by the amount poured (measured in pints) and that is how it shows up on the bill. Your tap tells you how much is poured so it is not a surprise. I wonder what the high score is?

Overall it is a great place to at least try and we liked our visit. I am sure we will adventure here again in the near future!

Great beer selection. I really like the atmosphere. For a relatively big place, it doesn't feel like it. Bar is really clean and service was on top of things and knowledgeable. Definitely a great place to come relax on a weekday and have a meal with a friend. Their new website is awesome too!

Excellent burgers. Good steak. Friendly service. Don't let the name fool you, though... Is is more of an Irish-themed sports bar. Definitely not a traditional Irish Pub. But good nonetheless.

okay so as far as the nachos go Muphys Law has the option of the guiness cheese sauce that comes with it or you can ask for the shredded cheese to be melted on top.
There are very few vegetarian options on the menu which is a minus.. bring in veggie burgers please.
The staff is very friendly and prompt with booze/food.
5 amazing self service tap tables and only place available in rhode island.
Huge beer selection between draft and bottle with an exquisite scotch menu along with a full bar.
TVs in every direction you look so its a great time for sports and of course football . with all the games on every Sunday.
Gorgeous pool table and 2 dart boards for some fun.
Live music every Friday and Saturday with no cover charge and free parking :)
Plus awesome Rewards Program with awesome benefits. Was sent an email to be invited back on a specific date and they take care of half of my bill with booze and desserts included.
Also theyve included a special on Burgers every Monday. Buy one burger and get one for free. :)
A lil pricey on food but nothing comes from a can and everything is prepped and made fresh.
Great atmoshpere and layout. complete upgrade from Ground Round

Tried it out a couple of times now and the other reviews are correct:
    1. the nachos are inedible
    2. there are NO vegetarian options (veggie patty to replace burger, etc.)except for a runny, indiscernible, absolutely inedible "caprese wrap"
    3. server kept putting her hands on her face while talking to us...and in her teeth - omg.
    4. the beer selection is great, the tv's are plentiful - great guy place
5...but don't invite your wife or girlfriend, it's miserable.
    6. Good luck competing with Doherty's, they've hired a cook from Julian's...

First the good:  At some tables you get a two taps, 1 guiness and then one random, and you get to pour your own beer.  Kind of a cool concept.  If you don't like the beers at your table there is a solid list of draft and bottled beer to choose from.  The waitstaff seems very attentive, although our waiter forgot to bring our first order of beers until after about 10 minutes I pointed out to him that our beers were sitting at the bar waiting to come to my thirsty mouth.  An honest mistake, so not a big deal and he was very attentive and helpful the rest of the stay.  All of this brings this place 2 stars.
Now the Horrible:  THE NACHOS SUCK!!!!  My wife and I decided to share an order of Murphy's Nachos without chili.  The nachos come out, and of course they had chili, we send them back, and about 5 minutes later get our order of nachos sans chili.  It was one of the more disgusting plates of food I have ever been served.  With each bite I kept thinking, this has to start tasting a little better, but no it never did.  Instead of real cheese they use a cheese sauce that is sub taco bell quality, and the chips were tasteless.  The best part of the nachos were the scant amount of fresh tomatoe and scallions on the top.  I guess there is a reason that they put chili on these, to distract you from the horrendous taste of the rest of the nachos.  My wife and I went home with stomach aches.  The worst part was that the nachos cost $9.  I can't imagine the amount of money they make on charging $9 for that pile of shat that they served us.  But I liked the beer.

Went back the other day and for a change I was right...this place has gotten better, much better.  Service was good, food was good and the place was fun.  They also have these cool tap tables...pour your own drafts at the table, amazingly fun.  Let's hope they keep getting better.

Hmmm... Overall I liked the place/layout. Beer prices were reasonable, and the taps at the table are an interesting draw. It's a good sized place for an intimate dinner or a large group of friends. Tons of TVs to watch the game on. Service is prompt and friendly.  My only peeve is the prices of the food.... I wanted to try things on the menu, but decided not to due to the steep price tag.

Make-your-own black and tans. At your table. Done and done.

Murphy's Law has replaced the old Ground Round, and boy has it ever! Holy moley.

Killer beer selection (and scotch and whiskey and whisky selection), and the tables in the bar area each have their own tap--Guinness and some other beer--Guinness and Gansett, Guinness and Blue Moon...you get the picture. The waitress opens your personal taps, hands you a GUINNESS SPOON, and you make your own!!!!! This place is BEER HEAVEN!!!!!! Seriously!

The food is good--better than average bar food with good "Irish pub" fare like corned beef and cabbage and fish and "crisps." I had the Bono Burger, but feel free to try to Sinead O'Connor burger as well ;-).

Service was great--friendly, attentive, and helpful. They split our check into a million different ones after the fact (my friends and I suck, I know) but nary a complaint from the staff.

Many might think that the last thing Pawtucket needs is another Irish pub, but Murphy's is a solid place that is here to stay. I try to be discerning in my 5-star ratings, but the personal taps at the table pushed me over the top. Go check out this place and I promise you won't be disappointed.
